Thank you for the review. The 767 is a good complement to a gas generator. The gas can run during the day and the 767 can run at night.

Even better, run the generator only to charge the battery, instead of wasting its always-on energy when less is needed. This is the Achilles Heel of those Generacs & others; they don’t sell them with batteries so they run all the time-even if you have just a few lights on, and waste a ton of fuel.

@@shandor2522 even better, throw some panels on the roof to charge either the 767 during the day or your cabin batteries and throw your noisy smelly gennie away.

AC current can act very strange, especially when something like an air conditioner turns on.The flow actually can move backwards. It seems like this unit doesn't have a problem with that and can allow a temporary heavy load. I would love to see voltage/amps on another device when something kicks on like air conditioning.

I currently have the 767/760 support battery, reversing power to condo, runs home refrigerator, freezer, and mini freezer, runs lights, enough to keep us with lights and tv during hurricane or power outages, runs 6k window a/c for 15 hours…just shut off whatever your not using and your ok, after outage I recharge it with my Honda Generator or house power,if FPL gets it back on…😂😂😂

Great video very informative! I'm also in sunny San Diego and am hoping the 767 will be able to power up my air conditioning unit in my 2018 Minnie Winnie 22m. Looks like the highest wattage it gets to is about 2040 but I'm also worried about the initial surge being too much. Looking forward to your video about the soft start! Thank you

I am using a 767 plugged into a six 120v circuit transfer switch and it powers all six circuits individually or all together. The only issue I have encountered is when one of the older ceiling fans runs at a certain speed seems to impact our chest freezer on same circuit making its motor louder. There must be a cycle imbalance because changing the fan speed or turning on another device on that same circuit returns the freezer motor to normal. Similar a landscape light transformer gets loud when powered by the Anker. Otherwise the rest of the house powers fine. Seems devices with certain windings are more fussy but I haven't determined this to be an Anker issue and maybe just those devices. I love the 767 and house transfer switch combo, it's a great affordable power backup. I also use 3x200w portable solar panels in series to recharge the 767 or power certain circuits directly via the 767. Across the six circuits I have a full frig/freezer, mini frig, chest freezer, multiple tv's, AV receiver, several computers, routers, etc. lights, fans, outlets, etc. I have loaded tested each circuit so I know exact average watts needed and during a BAU period I can power all six circuits together for 8-12 hours off the 767 with expansion battery attached. I can also power each of the six circuits individually for 22-40+ hours off the 767. A simply flick of the transfer switch/s gives me full control without any interruption going from grid to 767 and back.

Just came across your video. My EcoFlow Delta max can run my A/C. The problem with initial start up of the A/C is the amperage goes above 15 amps, but my ac outlets are rated for 20 amps. It is not the wattage that shuts down the Anker but the amperage. On my A/C if I turn it on to high cool immediately it draws between 16 to 18 amps. The way I got mine to work was to ensure that everything was turned off in my RV. Than I started the A/C on low fan, for a minute, than on high fan for another minute, than I went to low cool until the compressor kicked in, this drew about 9 amps at start up than dropped to 3 amps, afterward I turned on high cool which stayed at 4 to 5 amps, than I turned on the fridge and what ever lights you wanted. Of course my a/c would run down my ecoflow in about an hour. I was just conducting a test as I did not want to install a soft start. My A/C is the Coleman Mach 13,500 BTU, just fyi. Good video by the way.

You need an air conditioner soft starter. It starts the compressor first, then starts the fan a few seconds later. This way the initial in-rush current is dramatically less and you won't overload the pure sine wave inverter. They are available through E-bay for less than $150. It's not the same as the unit you're showing at 4:10. it actually installs inside the A/C itself.
@DoItYourselfDad
@DoItYourselfDad Год назад
I know, but in theory this power station should be able to start the AC. The benefit of the inline soft start is that it also buffers everything else downline. It soft starts the microwave as well lessening the load on the generator through those startups as well.

@@DoItYourselfDadI seen on another channel (@sheen3453 - Sheen) that the Anker 767 had a problem regulating the output when connected to inductive loads. After a firmware update was pushed out specifically to his unit he no longer had the issue. In the video he had a small 110 volt window unit plugged in and the compressor was running erratically. Not the same as high in rush current, but your issue could stem from the same Anker firmware problem. Worth looking into I guess. Thanks for the video. I'm considering the Anker for a travel trailer.

Very detailed and informative review. Looking forward to your review on the in line soft start as I just got the 767 and was hoping to use it to intermittently power the AC unit on my sprinter van but it only turns it on for about 2-3 minutes and then get an overload reading from the unit. Although the 767 is rated at a surge captivity of 4800 watts it’s just not powerful enough to sustain the fluctuations of the compressors startup energy needs. Hoping in-line soft start would do the trick.
@DoItYourselfDad
@DoItYourselfDad Год назад
Thanks! The in-line soft start is a pretty neat gizmo. I had thought about putting a soft start on my air conditioner when I stumbled on this thing, it definitely makes things a lot more convenient, it also soft starts a microwave, which puts less strain on the battery, which is an added bonus. I’ll have a video up on it soon.

Integrated ac adapter, lovely screen, supposedly very quiet, nice app, good efficiency rating, love the handle and wheels and being Anker they have a good rep for customer service unlike company's like Bluetti. Nearly shed a tear when I saw it the 767 only allowed 60v solar input. Why Anker why. You were so so so close :(. Maybe they'll do a 768 release. Pretty please Anker. When we’re not at our land ( rv location ) I like to leave our refrigerator on and mini split at i higher temperature . (80-82 degrees just to keep humidity down . My question is since the mini split is a soft start would it be able to run the 12,000 btu mini split and rv refrigerator with this generator for 6-8 hrs throughout the night which I’m sure the mini split will shut off since our nights are around 80 currently . I think it might be an addition to the gas generator setup if you don’t want the noise, or hassle of going outside to connect everything in bad weather, etc. might not last too long, but with the expansion battery it would last almost twice as long… Of course the power station, plus expansion battery, plus two solar panels is well over $4000.

They asked for my shipping address, invoice to show proof of purchase, serial number and a video with the issue. I sent all this on Sunday and today they asked for the same information. Anker, this is bad customer service. I was told in one of the emails to use DC to power the battery and then switch to solar. I can't do that since I only use solar. The video I sent showed that the solar panels and cable are working since I connect them to another battery and it was charging. Anyone, someone, what else can be done?

It all depends on what you're trying to power in the house. If you are just trying to power a refrigerator and a light or two this will last a long time. If you're trying to power the whole house you'll get a couple hours max. I use this thing to power my travel trailer. Electric and solar means I don't have to deal with generator quiet hours.

While watching this I checked the price for that unit. Given the limited performance of all that combined paraphernalia, it really seems impractical. Plus, if the weather turned bad and you were confined indoors, your energy needs would escalate substantially.

No it can't power an entire home. At least not for very long before you fry the MOSFETs because of all the exposures to the high surge loads in your home. You'd be lucky to get even two years of service from this solar generator, especially when powering high inductance loads like full sized refrigerators, large power tools, portable AC units or large microwave ovens. The reason for this is that all of these lightweight, high frequency inverters lack a very critical component. That critical component is an iron core, copper wound output transformer. Without an output transformer to act as a buffer to absorb electrical surges provided by the “Flywheel Effect” inherent in the physical amount of a transformer’s iron, these surges and damaging reverse voltage spikes must be handled directly by the inverter’s MOSFET transistors, essential shortening their life. You might be able to start and run some high surge loads when these high frequency inverters are new, but every time you fire up one of those inductive loads, you're shortening the life of the MOSFETs in these inverters. Another major consideration with these lightweight, high frequency, transformerless solar generators is safety. All it takes is for the AC output monitoring circuitry to fail and one of the MOSFETs in the inverter's H-Bridge circuit to short to ground, and these solar generators can dangerous, high voltage, high amperage DC current straight to your connected AC loads which will not only damage most AC appliances but can also set those AC appliances on fire.

my anker 757 stopped working after less than a year owning it - now its zero charge and wont charge. very light use - all these specs and features are useless if the unit stops working.

Insane that those solar panels are not water proof.

I agree, that’s why I had mentioned in the video you may be better off getting your own solar panels and an adapter to run it into the unit. That’s what I’ll be doing with the rooftop solar on my trailer.

Those panels are totally fine and rated IP67 so they are weather proof in every practical sense of the phrase. The little frowning face icon the back is not be interpreted as anything other than "not good PV production when it's raining". Well, no kidding!

@@DoItYourselfDad they call it TT30 plug, but since 2400 watt inverter it's max. If you pull more then that then it will shut down

Your just like every other channel that receives this stuff FREE. Stop playing semantics and saying it can replace a generator for your home. It can not. 2-3hrs is not replacing a generator. Not even a Honda eu2200 . ALL of these solar “ generators “ can only back up your home power for a short time 8-16 hrs and that’s not running your whole house . Especially if a storm lasts days without power and it’s cloudy for even more days . You’d have no power , unless you have a generator. These units , whether this one or eco flow delta or max are Companions to a generator. The can make the fuel for a generator last longer 4x longer , unless your actually intelligent and buy a complete back up generator like a Generac propane system that will run for months on propane. Good for RV ? Yes. A companion to a generator? Yes . Charge it up with your generator. Then use the battery until dead and charge it up with the generator again, great system to make the fuel stretch longer
