Kuya doesn’t really mean the same as Oppa when referring to someone you like/want to be a boyfriend. We don’t call our boyfriends/partners Kuya at all. It’s kinda weird if we call them kuya. Kuya just means older male (could be sibling, cousin or just a male who’s older than you).
@@winmetawin6950 but you just can't call any male older than you oppa. Unless you're siblings or close friends or lovers. While Kuya can be used to any older male. You can even call a random stranger Kuya but it would be weird if we call our lover Kuya 🤣
Oppa also same.. it can be kuya.. and you can call oppa also to other people but mostly korean used it in people that their are close to them or they know them..
"It's hard for a Filipino to be a bad singer" this I resonate with so much because it was also from a Korean tour guide on my last tour of South Korea that told us that Filipinos seem to be born with a microphone to their mouths, meaning they can automatically sing.
For fellow Filipinos reacting to Kuya: Oppa is used for a girl calling an older male or it can mean calling a crush/boyfriend/husband. So there is no exact equivalent of oppa in Filipino. Kuya can be but not exactly. Kuya can be used for calling an older male, regardless of the gender of the one using it. I don't blame the host, he's correct to some degree. They even make cute/funny/witty scenes about "oppa" on k dramas. When the oppa(older male) becomes the oppa(boyfriend).
5:07 SB19's youngest member, Justin Torres De Dios💚🌽✨ He is also an artist, he likes turtle and a nature lover. That's why his favorite color is green. He is also corny, but sweet and caring and super intelligent. Our fandom btw is called A'TIN, pronounced as the number 18. 🥰🥰🥰🇵🇭💙💠
Honestly I had no idea that Phillipines has boy group and girl group cultures too and that their celebs are so so damn beautiful man I gotta learn more about my fellow Asian cultures
I recommend MNL48 (their idol culture is based on Japanese Idol Culture as they are the sistergroup of AKB48), BINI and BGYO are sibling groups under ABS-CBN, an entertainment company in the Philippines, G22 and VXON from Corner Stone Entertainment, DIONE and 1st.One from FirstOne Entertainment and lastly, Alamat from Viva
Actually the term Oppa can be equal to Kuya in either referring to older guy relatives or even romantic endearment. Remember the "Kuya" with a flirty tone. It became a term or endearment for fun among Young Filipina towards handsome older guy. It is due to the words Oppa becoming famous here in the Philippines, it became the counterpart of that term. But here is the catch, don't use it in serious situations. It actually makes the girl cheap.
Kuya Paul, you should've picked Josh instead of Justin (since he's the real maknae) and let them guess his age if they'll be tricked by his baby face 😂
Sarah G is a very popular popstar here in th PH. The photos that they chose was just recently when she cut her hair so short, she looks even younger in long hair.
fun fact: james reid and nadine lustre dated for a long time. they were co-stars when they met and basically reached popularity together. they have many movies/series together because of their chemistry!
Please do this again but show a picture of the artist with and without makeup. Because sometimes make up makes them look more younger and older.. I hope my request reaches you.
you should've add anne curtis, liza soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, bea alonzo, angel locsin, bianca umali, Sarah labahti, lovi Poe, iza calzado, jane de leon, julia barreto, sofia Andres they're all gorgeous
I know it may vary among different people, but I've always used kuya for older males that I consider as family, like my brother or cousins or family friends, so calling a guy kuya is more like brother-zoning him.
Hello! I don't know when you film this video but I just want to clarify that Justin De Dios celebrated his 24th Birthday last July 7, so he is already 24 years old not 23. Again, just to clarify only and I'm thankul that you include him. My bias 💚 Love your content ♡

Kuya means older brother to us, sometimes we used it as a sign of respect to someone we do not know especially if we do not know their name.. because it's bad to call them hoy or hey 😅
Here cause I saw Justin on the thumbnail, our bunso in SB19. Idk when this was filmed but Justin turned 24 last July 7. Anyway, thanks for including him on the list.
They are celebrities, they have an image they need to upkeep. They're value in competing in the entertainment industry is reliant to their image and talent.
Hi thank you for including Nadine and James to your video age guessing.. 🙏☺I really love Nadine and James so much... ☺I really like what they said about Nadine also to James, thank you...
It's not even close, Filipinas hands down are the most beautiful in Asia. Top 3 in the world. When you have a mix it really brings out such beauty. Look at Brasil.
These celebrities are younger looking because of course they do have money to go to dermatologist for their skin care. But of course deserve it and can afford it. Love those celebrities ❤
