A man and a woman can be "friendly" as in colleagues or work relationships. With so many women in the workforce and even in positions of authority you have to cultivate that cordial but distant sense. But real friends, like hang out together and share personal interests? No can do. Getting that close on a personal or sharing level will always unleash the sexual urge. Certainly for the male but also for the female, too. You have to respect that the urge is real and natural.

The only times I've been "friends" with a woman, was when she wanted something from me but didn't want to provide sex in return. Same story over and over again. My friendships with women don't last very long. Unless, of course, well, um, uh, you know.
I've had a male best friend for 35 years we have known eachother all our lives, my mom would babysit me and him and his mom would babysit him and I before she passed away. We grew up down the street from eachother. We don't talk everyday there have been times that we haven't spoken in months but when we do it's like time hasn't passed. He has never attempted to try to be with me or hit on me in a sexual manner when I've been single. We have established our platonic friendship well over 30 years ago and both know that's exactly what it is. He has been with the same girl for over 15 years and now has a child with her which over the years I have become really good friends with her. She has no problem with us being friends she strictly knows its a platonic friendship. So that 1% where men and women can be friends in a platonic way is possible.

I wish I had this video when I was in school/college. I was always told "be her friend" and all that stuff and I trusted the people that told me that 'advice' so I followed it but I can 100% agree with Rich, it doesn't work and most times doesn't end well either. I’ll admit that I went straight to the comments section on this one before watching the video. From my perspective, men and women can be friends but simply aren’t designed to be (just) friends. We have an ultimate goal to pair up, have sex, children then raise said children. That’s where our common goal lies. In most other respects we are like chalk and cheese. There’s a reason why birds of a feather flock together and that’s because we are drawn to those like ourselves. We’re friends with our friends because they are similar to us in our views, beliefs, goals etc. Men and women aren’t similar at all. We talk differently, we treat each other differently and we act differently. I don’t have female friends, they are merely acquaintances. Any personal stuff I discuss is with my male friends. If I do have some kind of friendship with a woman, it’s because I have zero attraction for her and can afford to be in her presence.

I know how sad it may be, but if you’re her friend you’re giving her attention, time, and probably money indirectly through doing stuff with her. She gets all of you and you get nothing from her besides her unapologetic disinterest in you. Even if the man isn't attracted his his 'friend', she'll never return his affection. The real problem is that men and women approach friendship with very different expectations. If two men are best friends, each will be willing to make sacrifices for the other & will trust each other unconditionally. Men who betray their friends are pariahs among other men because loyalty is a masculine virtue. Women don't have friends like this. For a woman, her friend is just another chick she gossips to or goes on shopping excursions with; there's no expectation among women that your gurlfriend will 'stand by you' if your life goes south, so no one gets hurt when this happens. But if a guy becomes a girl's friend with the expectation that she will reciprocate his masculine sense of loyalty, he's going to get hurt sooner or later... A man CAN have a platonic relationship with a woman he isn't attracted to, but he should NEVER consider her a friend. Woman can only be 3 things to a guy: family, f*** buddies, or acquaintances. And yes, there probably are exceptions. But do you really want to risk your emotional health on a girl who very likely is NOT one of those exceptions? I'd sooner play a game of russian roulette.

In the past I've had females friends and not once ever have they hooked me up with a friend. I realise now its coa they havnt wanted to share me or had my interests at heart only theirs. They have kept me around like an orbiter they can turn too. I'm in the process of walking away from all my female friends an it feels weird after years of conditioning. From my honest anecdotal experience, all the guys I’m close to being friends with are either gay or would be seen as beta to the red pill community of men. I have male acquaintances and leave it at that level because 1. I’m in a relationship & 2. I’m not ignorant of the fact that if a male and female are slightly attractive there will always be that sexual tension. For real though, if you were single and were given the opportunity to hang out with an 8 or up on attractiveness, there would definitely be sexual attraction there.

Even at 18 l knew l couldn’t be friends with this girl l’ve been chasing. Went at her about 3 times with NO LUCK. I knew it would have been too one-sided, as l was the one who was emotional. After the 3rd time l stopped talking to that coworker (stopped trying to impress her) and after that she still tried to get me to think there was a chance like dangling a string in front of a cat. I was like no way, you made up your mind, now l can move on.
In the overwhelming majority of cases the answer is a resounding “no”. However, like all things in life there are exceptions. The key is if the friendship adds a net value to your life. If the answer is yes, then it would be a good idea to continue it. Don’t lie to yourself though, it’s not doing you any favors.
Not only what you've said here but even the friendships I've had with women where I didn't find them attractive (For whatever reason) it's almost as though they have no idea what the word "Friendship" means, even just surface level friendships. Like one time I texted one to ask her about a movie and her response was basically to chastise me for calling her about that. I have only been in two relationships but neither would have tolerated my having guy friends who were not in relationships themselves and even than with reservations. They were both the jealous type, sometimes scary jealous which is why I left the relationships. Men are very territorial. Maybe as men age the jealousy goes a way but I'm not seeing it. If a woman is "spinning plates" as the PUA community likes to call it, she can have as many "friends" as she wants but I cannot see it working in a committed relationship. That is one reason couples form friendships and eye with suspicion the single person amongst them. Sex brings out the vulnerabilities in people and puts them on guard.

In my opinion it depends on context of the friendship. Some women that I have been friends with are physically attractive, but maturity wise they felt younger than me. It felt like I was friends with a younger sister. Most of the time though, no it's hard for men and women to just be friends.
The most important question here is are these people in an exclusive relationship or single? If anyone allows for friends of the opposite sex while in an exclusive relationship, you're just asking for trouble. I don't mean a coffee or lunch once in a while with a colleague or a "catch up" on a Sunday afternoon with a friend from college. I am talking about going to get smashed with someone of the opposite sex on a Friday night while your significant other is hitting the gym. Then yes female friends help, they talk you up to other girls. Show up at a lineup with 3 hot girls on your arms, you're not waiting in line. I used to think you can because I knew women I clicked with as persons without being attracted to them but unfortunately its impossible for them to be our friends and its not what you might think. I have a couple female "friends" but they are married to other men, that said, I do not spend alone time with them in any capacity. I respect them and their husband's boundaries. There's this girl I hang out with a lot in university, admittedly she is attractive and I would be lying if I said I didn't have half a mind to try and date her. But then she brought up her boyfriend and at that moment I turned away from any romantic intentions. The reason I stuck around is because she's really goofy and fun to hang out with. She's also a very kind and generous person. We have a few classes together and help each other with academics so in that sense we do stuff for each other. I would definitely consider her a friend.
I know this is a three-year-old comment but I'm in the exact same situation right now . This girl that I know she's super fun and goofy to hang out with . She said that she has no romantic interest to me but . I'm looking at her like she could be my wing girl now . So I can have access to other girls . Because when girls see her laughing and having a great time with me . There gonna be more attracted to me because of her .
Firstly; I fully agree with you on this, but should one want to play the 'friend' play one should know that it can be a short or long play. Never fool yourself about your intentions. You should only play this game when you are not interested in the girl but want to get closer to her friends. Access is king. This is the long game. If she puts you in a friend zone while you are interested in her you owe it to yourself to see if you can get out of that zone and into the intimate zone, this should be as short as possible otherwise it becomes sad.
You can be friends with a woman you're not attracted to. Even if you are attracted to them and they have a boyfriend, you can be their friend and get invited to parties and outings with her hot friends. I wouldn't be friends with a woman that I was interested in since it's just a dead end.
