since Liquid is portrayed rather badly for the sake of the storyline, two things to keep in mind: a) apart from w33, this team was (and still is) the team that has played together the longest. they love and trust each other so much. b) they already came from a very stressful lower bracket finals before these games. they did a lower bracket run and therefor played way more games than OG. plus OG looked super dominant that TI. so they came into the finals being exhausted and stressed and have to face a super strong opponent. just adding that to cut Liquid some slack and give some perspective

Unfortunately for the Liquid boys, Kuroky chocked the most in these finals ... he would not listen to his teammates at all. Ti9 Io was revered as the hidden carry gem that only OG was able to utilize to its Max. They were able to destroy top-tier carry-mid picks at the time. If i remember correctly when they first showcased the IO carry, teams were legit scared of it, that IO was only been picked by OG 6 times (correct me if im wrong) after it. And they went 6-0 afterwards. OG got a decently wide pool with meta defying drafts. They can also play heroes in different roles like their pugna (2, 4, or 3). Like team Liquid, teams were really confused, that eventually led to their loss.

It just shows both Ceb and Jerax mental awareness of the game. Ceb knew Liquid was desperate, and they will try to chase out of desperation to salvage the game. Which Liquid did do. Meanwhile Jerax knows its over. Even if they chase, they will lose. Which also came true.

I wish that Grubby watched TI7 True Sight before this so he'd have a better insight on how this Team Liquid works. Kuroky basically is like a father to the 4 guys of the team (who can be mischievous players), with their manager Mo like the mother lol. Kuro had to carry the team at a mental and emotional standpoint, so it's not surprising that he got tilted after game 1. I feel that Liquid misses Matu on situations like this. He's one less emotional guy for Kuro to check on. TI8 is Ana's redemption after being viewed as an underperformer before TI, while TI9 is where Topson really popped off. I really like how Grubby instantly recognizes the differences in communication between the teams. I know a lot of people kept mentioning how Kuro is 'the calmest guy' and stuff, but in the end I think when he reflects on it he'll realize that he handled some of the things a tad poorly. In general they really (from the limited footage we get) seemed to pile the pressure on W33ha, when he was the most inexperienced member of the team who always felt like the odd one out already (because he wasn't 'part of the squad'). I think also a nice nuance (that Grubby might not know) is how Miracle used to play with OG, with N0tail and Seb (as coach) and was incredibly succesful, so he understands a lot about how they think about the game and the way they want to play. I think it played quite a big part in Miracle being able to make a few calls on what OG was going to pick, for example the Ember pick, where Kuro at that moment (probably due to the stress) wasn't really open to using the full potential of the knowledge around him. You can also see this with their coach RMN, who honestly had a great read on the games, but for whatever reason (again probably due to stress) Kuro just wasn't open to his comments. I think Liquid were up against it, because OG looked completely unbeatable with a vast amount of different strategies and drafts throughout the tournament. Nobody ever looked close to their level this TI. It was a great TI and I hope we get more entertainment like it in the future!

As a huge fan of this Liquid team that documentary can be hard to watch lol. But I like how both teams respect each other, I prefer respect and friendliness to trash talk. By the way, Kuro and Notail, the captains of each team are actually good friends. Kuro coached/advised Notail on his previous TI, after the former got eliminated

You have to understand, OG won ti9 like it was nothing. Every few years, Dota sees a big change of Meta. From items, heroes, timings, etc, everything changes a little but as a whole it feels like a new game. That year OG came with the ultra early aggression, doing mid and late game tactics before minute 10 (mid game usually started around min 13 until that tournament). No one was ready for it. A stomp from start to finish the whole tournament. A meme was born: OG in ti8: underdog story; OG in ti9: overpowered villain.

Hi, Grubby! it seems you're new to Dota2 stuff. I hope you can also watch the RedBull's Against the Odds (OG Documentary on winning TI8). At least for me, it is more detailed and emotional than TI8. Enjoy

I think you are the perfect person to point out the differences between two teams, mentally. It was so polarised I felt bad for Liquid. If they had Ceb factor between games, we could have had a legendary series.

Yeah but there is also another story on how real life villain won against DotA 2. On how every single dev who worked early dota mod were buried and no one remembers, it's epic undocumented story too. People do it but out of their for each others game but I've been following dota since 2003 so I know what really happened but still yeah it was really bad drama too.

1:58 I always thought that this was very sweet. 3 or 4 members of Liquid at the time were muslims and I think it's really nice that they were united by faith as well as friendship. I'm not religious myself but I have a very deep respect for people who can live their own faith in a healthy way, whatever it is they believe in. Especially if that can bring people together.

Ti7 true sight and free to play next But man, Kuro and Puppey playing dota since 2005 and pro until now is someone that no one could match. Some of the players now weren't even born and Puppey and Kuro are already pros. And the best convo happened between Kuro and W33 "Thank Him, okay?" "Always" And this is after losing. W33 had the hardest since he was 1 game short twice. Like fy. And kuro was 1 series shy. Twice. He had 3 grand finals like Puppey and Dendi. Them 3 could have 3 ti championships if you think about it.

You just save the dota community man, both those who are actively playing and us uncles who have our own family now and can only play 2-3x a week. Haha😅 In case you miss the last 1 min of ti9 true sight, Ceb just acknowledged Topson as the TI King with 2/2 TI wins and 100% TI win rate during this time. And another fact, Ceb scouted Topson thru Jerax.

im pretty sure it’s all about the psychology. Look how tense liquid is and the only person to blame is kuro- look at ceb; making sure all his teammates are comfortable and then there kuro- dont do this dont do that shut up dont talk etc etc like there is no way they win with that mentality

7:35 It wasn't immediate humility in my opinion. He said "oh woah" because the compliment sounded a little... off. "You're probably the best Spectre player in this stadium". Not the best spectre player in the whole world, or even the best in this stadium.. "probably" the best in the stadium. So Ana says.. "oh woah.." like "thanks man what a compliment".
