They always limit archers which is the parthians strength in siege so its not ideal faction for multi player. And their heavy cataphrach is almost of no use in mass, for siege.

It makes me daunting to see the attackers being too timid with their attack, they should push infantry masses to the Egyptian chokepoint to take the arrow towers while having archers silencing the pikemen, then the defenders skirmishers have to pick and choose to kill the infrany taking the arrow towers or the archers raining down on the pikemen.... Instead the attackers are just sending troops piecemeal and let the defenders chew them up bit by bit, that just gives the defenders time and the arrow towers continue to shoot down the attackers..... For the Roman and Carthage side, the Carthaginan archers are just sitting there and let the praetorians rush to the front of Spartan pikes to kill themselves, also a waste of the roman javelinmen who shoot low tier units spears of Sparta at the beginning (playing into the game of defenders using crap units to waste your ammo), just send in legionaries (not pratetorians) who easily break them without a single shot fired. Clearly inexperienced attackers.....Anyway they can learn from this battle. Good game.

I scanned and may of missed someone commenting about this but Apollo, Sparta changed the archer unit on the wall once, that's why that so called one unit had so much ammo xD First one he took off had around 250 kills or something like that, then he switched it with another one why it had around 100 something when you looked at it again after a while.

This looks like a case of 6 friends that decided to challenge the better players in their group to do a 2v4. The attackers are making a ton of easy mistakes - though I know from experience that its a lot harder to play perfectly than it is to critique with a bird's eye view.

@@ihatemyselfxd7252 there is no current cure for viruses, herd immunity is totally out of question when a small fraction of the current global population would survive. This estimate was made by the CDC, as infections rates hit the curve, a realistic curve, a virus cannot grow exponentially forever. If it did more than 2 billion people would've been infected. There is a vaccination currently being made, taking around 18 months, only then will the virus mortality and infections go down. It is very unlikely it would be eradicated like smallpox, and I understand that the UK is doing a stupid decision, and so is Trump. It is going continue to spread, but it's going to end at some point, wether a vaccine is made and is given globally, or it hits the top of the curve and infection rates go down the same way it went up.

WOW o.O This was absolutely down to the wire. Amazing! Reminded me of that one controversal tournament battle between the Hungry Wolves and Corby Fist Baiter. When the battle started I was rooting for the defenders, you know always on the underdogs' side. Then when the Romans pushed the first line of the Spartan defense it looked like they cheesed through their lines. When I saw that I was like "Damn they gotta get kicked in the butt for that!" Then all those painful mistakes from the attackers versus the perfectly organized defense by the Egyptians and Spartans. They absolutely deserved this victory. Only mistake on the defending side I would say was not setting up the Spartan general with their backs to the wall on the capture point at the end. But thankfully the attackers didn't take advantage of that chance. I would've screamed at my monitor if they did... which at 01:00 AM wouldn't have turned out great for the neighbors xD All in all one of the most adrenaline pumping battles on your channel. Keep up the good work!

I think the Mercenary Cretan Archers, which takes on Pikemen Head-on, are the Most Badass Unit in this Battle. Remember Apollo saying that there is a Pike-Unit with almost 300 Kills on the Egyptian Side? Yeah... they weren't Pikemen: 54:16

The Spartans are over-rated historically. Their military was professional in comparison to other militaries in Greece, but when they came up against other professionalized forces, they weren't terribly effective. Certainly not supermen.

The spartans are not overrated. For ~400 years (800-373BC) they dominated the greek peninsula and they only lost small skimirshes(as expected ,they were sending their helots to fight them) and naval battles. 400 years of battle domination by using the same tactic "othismos"(meaning push) in the phalanx formation sure creates a big story to tell about their determination,ferocity and military skill.You cant deny that spartans were the first professional soldiers. As much as I dont like to bring this argument,for the sake of it I will just say that Hitler got inspired by the harsh traiining the spartans were undergoing and chose to train his infantry divisions under the same principle,which proved superior against the less trained soldiers from the Allies.We should also take into consideration that the spartans at their height could only field 10 thousand homioi hoplites. Romans on the other hand,could field 10 times that number at least.When romans came,sparta was a shadow of its former self.They couldnt even field more than 1000 hoplites by that point.Rome revolutionazed the warfare by being technologically,logistically and militarally superior to the unorganized and static Sparta,which population was declining day by day

@@arthasmenethil7208 You missed the point entirely. The Spartans were the only professional force in Greece until the emergence of the Macedonians. Consequently, their performance was better against non-professional forces *as I specifically said*. (Though they weren't even close to the first really professional forces in history, which were likely the Assyrians). Even so, Spartan forces surrendered during the Peleponnesian War (late 400s BCE), and after the victory over Athens could not sustain hegemonic power over Greece, even against cities like Thebes. By the time the Romans were a presence in Greece, Sparta was nothing more than a tourist attraction. I would suggest that your knowledge or understanding of Sparta is based largely on the myths my original post described. Read some real history. I suggest starting with Thucydides.

The attacker's play reminds me of an American Civil War Battle - Fredericksburg. Union General Burnside idiotically only sent small groups of soldiers at a time to attack uphill at the Confederacy. That reminds me of how these attackers played. If you are going to throw your troops right at the enemy, at least throw them all at once in a human wave tactic. Don't send small groups to get slaughtered, let the defenders regroup, then repeat until your whole army is dead... Fredericksburg was one of the most infamous Union defeats of the war.

Great moment in the movie Gettysburg when, after having just repulsed Pickett's charge, the Federal troops keep shouting "Fredericksburg! Fredericksburg! Fredericksburg!" at the shattered remnants of Confederate attack force.
