@@lukasomasta2333 I completely disagree, being in the U.S. military, I've seen a lot of Europe. I am currently on my second deployment to Poland. I lived in Germany for a while and dated a Lithuanian girl. From what I can see, there are differences to living in the U.S. vs Europe, but Europeans seem free to live their lives. They seem entitled to an opinion and able to vote and have a say in their leadership. My favorite is Czechia, I could totally see myself transplanting to Prague. Or Lithuania, maybe Latvia, I could live in Poland as well.

The ruble is worth .05 US dollars so anything imported will be very expensive. No country will accept rubles they are worthless. Russia has also raised interest rates for Russians. The war costs hundreds of millions of dollars a day, billions of dollars a year. On top of that the work force of young men is shrinking which cuts the countries productivity.

Exchange rate and cost of living are a pair of very big problems right in front of us. Cost of living adjustments are laughable in the face of the ridiculous amount of inflation going on in those two areas. But when you get right down to it whether they're bouncing up and down separately or moving in the same direction they will eventually cause a violent release that will result in an equilibrium being reached. We need to wipe the sweat off our brows and reduce the amount of time we spend in the red to get to this point, but it will take rockhard stoicism.

I can't understand why the young men in russia are going to the war front in ukraine but the low income starts to explain it a little. I think also the men maybe don't know how bad it is there. The experience you had in the U.S.A. is difficult for people to experience very low prices for certain items. It is not going to last . It happens when far eastern workers are paid far easten wages but their goods are sold elsewhere. Elsewhere loses jobs and gets more unemployment. What you get in countries with no local taxes, purchase tax, vat etc is people wondering why you are not a millionaire. The big one is paying for accomodation rent or mortgage. Plus the student loan these days. So at 21 having graduated you are already in big debt, and nobody is getting married and having kids because they are 30 before they can afford to move out of their parents house. Ok so you werent introduced to these realities and possibly they seemed trivial amounts but a basic home in U.K is about ₽20M, in Capitals of countries it maybe double that. Most of the really poor shop at foodbanks where donated food is given free. Oh yes and petrol is about. ₽160/литр. Seeing a doctor is like dating an astronaut these days. I will only touch on experimental treatments and feeling like i'm an extra in a production of both "A brave new world" and "1984". The demise of europe is just a matter of a couple of years and you will be able to be a very rich tourist, our leaders? have turned into lemmings and were heading for the nearest cliff to atone for our ancestors sins. It maybe bad there but at least they still have sanity.

Using the "relative poverty definition" as described by you is quite common. I personally would look more at how difficult is it for poor people to have enough food for their family. In some rural regions people are growing most of their food themselves on their datsha like in good old Soviet times. This kind of economy is called subsistence economy. The really poor Russians have no opportunity to compensate a struggling economy. Some of my Volga-German friends whose families migrated to Germany after the collapse of the USSR and its Iron Curtain in the 1990s often tell how they survived although they did not receive any payment for their day job in Russia. They continued to work as teachers or engineers to westerners this sounds quite crazy. Many people left Russia during this time. The young president Putin had brought wealth to many Russians. His could economic track record in his first decade is one reason why Putin has been so popular among his Russian countrymen. The same happened BTW in Türkiye where president Erdoğan brought wealth to many Türkiyish people. In Türkiye and in Russia poverty has been rising dramatically again for years. As a citizen of the European Union I think quite different about the USA. There's a lot of poverty in some regions of the USA and employee rights are not very developed there. In all European countries the health system for have-nots and the unemployment allowances and the weeks of paid holidays are really superior. But this comes all at a price, we pay much higher taxes and social insurance fees as US Americans. But you will also find slums even in the EU. But you are right there a lot of countries where it's much easier to live a good life as in today's Russia. The life of homeless people in many Western countries is much shorter as of normal working class people. You don't really know what you are talking about if you say living standards of ordinary Russian citizens would be worse than that of homeless people in the USA ( or Western European countries).

As for your comments about people in Russia not realizing how poor they are, many people who grow up impoverished only become aware of their poverty when they step outside of the place where they grew up as you did in 2019. You're right, really poor people don't think about luxury qualities of e.g. G. certified organic food. In Germany, homeless people steal food from trash cans behind supermarkets and restaurants. Even if the tomatoes are organic, rotten tomatoes are still rotten. Comparing food prices from country to country is meaningless. You have to compare it with the local minimum wage and with how much unemployment allowance the unemployed receive and what a poor pensioner has to live on. Russia does not have a very good social system, but the USA does not have a superior social system either.

Everyone is getting richer…..that’s gold in anyone’s language But hey your president announces two borei class nuclear submarines have been commissioned with another 8 on order. Never mind the average salaries and pensions. What better way to spend a counties resources than to end the world, yours included.

" Homeless people in Adidas". Dear Yulia, when you last time was in actual Russia. In 1999? Real prices for comparison: whole chiken in Krasnoyarsk 2.5$ for 1kg. And, yes, do not forget to subtrakt your thousands of dollars of repaying credits, mortgage and taxes before comparing income.

whole chicken in NYC was $3-5 dollars, but it's a whole chicken? do you want to prepare A WHOLE chicken when you get back from work? Chicken breast in my city costs 380 rubles for 600-800 grams, I got chicken breast for less or the same price in NEW YORK CITY, the most expensive city in the world in target for the same weight. About taxes, mortgage and credits, I am so glad people in Russia OBVIOUSLY don't know about these things and nobody pays nothing like bills or credis, only americans are doing it, right? Can you tell me, how does a life of an average russian with a salary of 30k rubles with credits, mortgage and taxes look? Something tells me that an average american Johny has way better life paying his stuff than average people with 30k rubles salary lmao

@@KittenYulia I mean whole chicken carcasses. Why I should buy chicken breast... And "what is the life of an average Russian on a salary of 30,000 roubles with loans, mortgages and taxes"? I know exactly 1 person who fits your criteria and he is doing well despite his idiocy. Literally 1 person out of all my acquaintances. So all you have managed to do is confirm your complete ignorance of life in Russia. Good luck in NY, let's hope the blue-yellow flag will protect you if the political situation gets hot. About taxes and so on in Russia. I have no credits, so taxes+bills+internet+phone is about 4000 roubles per month, which is negligible.

You guys have 300,000 less poor people do to special military operations. Well they were middle class until they were eliminated and all those still alive and their families are fine for now. Wish all regular people in Russia would stop saying they are a political and get involved get your damn government to work for the people.
