Thanks for the informative videos Kitten. They are sad but sometimes also funny the ways things are so strange in Russia. I was pretty lucky in college generally. I do have something funny I can share with you since you share with us. I am a photographer with a degree in Film, TV and Photograpy. In college we were required to take certain courses. One was Sex education. God knows why we got a lot of in school training all on our own. Well, my sex education teacher happened to be the wife of my photography teacher. My teacher had been a photographer in NYC. He was pretty good. Anyway I start taking his wife's sex-ed class and she goes off on all the wonders of the penis ! I think she spent at least two days on it. I never met a women so delighted with the penis ! You can't imagine how funny and strange this class was. 😅
As a Czech, there's nothing wrong with Czechoslovakian T2 and T3 trams. T3's were a pinnacle of engineering, increasing safety & comfort for the drivers and passengers to levels unseen until then. They were also built to be resilient and cheap & easy to maintain. In Prague and other Czech cities, we still use T3's to this day. In Prague, their capacity is becoming insufficient, so Škoda 14T's and Škoda 15T's are slowly replacing them. But Škoda 14T's are universally hated for terrible design & reliability (when the first pieces arrived to Prague, 40% of them had to be sent back to the factory immediately as they had technical problems) and Škoda 15T's are great, but so overengineered they're a pain when something breaks. I love my T3's.

This is a great example of the difference between socialist thinking and capitalist thinking. When things are 'given' to you, people tend to not take care of them as such things cost nothing. When you have to pay for it on your own, you care for such things. you wash and maintain items so you get the best value for what you bought. Unfortunately, we have similar 'ghettos' in the USA. Supposed caring people tried to "give a hand up" to the unfortunate, but it became a "hand out" to the lazy, self centered who learned to expect free help and do not bother to help themselves (unless it is "helping themselves" to your stuff...). I truly enjoy Yulia's sense of humor. Yes, it is what we call dry, but pitched with the emotionless Russian dialect, it comes across as extremely funny (maybe it is because I have that Eastern type blood))))
So nice to know that not ALL Russians are totally brainwashed into thinking that all of their woes are the fault of some satanic West or other countries and not their own leaders!

if you compare russia to some latinamerican countries russia is poor . chile, costa rica , panama, uruguay we not only have better economy percapita by a good margin but we also have better human development which is crazy since russia has so much oil and gas they should be so much more wealthy than us , but it is what it is... not a good thing to have an oligarchy who only answer to a dictator who puts them in the positions they are , i hope some day russians open their eyes, but i dont think they will , when things get worse for russians probably most of them will only complain how is americas fault.
