Terrible program and glad someone has brought light to this. The first, and last, episode that I watched involved the eviction of a child on a ventilator, hardly any good furniture in the house at all, who had been full-time cared for by his unemployed parents.
@John Smiff When a family falls behind on their rent because of the need to suddenly look after a 2-year-old son on a ventilator, then no it does not. The family were also due to move out volunarily in two days time to a council home that was being refitted for the son to use. The greedy landlord could have easily waited. The program is full of families like this, not just families trying to cheat the system.

@@At_the_racesso you'd have no problem with a TV crew filming you if, god forbid, you found yourself out of work because the boss of your company had bankrupted the company you worked for because he gambled away everything? It might well be thier job, but taking a TV crew isn't that's just parasites making extra money from people who often aren't to blame. That isn't their job.
But not only that but the story that the police receive is that “ a suspicious man was seen walking through the car park looking into the cars and trying door handles” because this gets a response from the police. If they just reported a man walking down the street, minding his own business and keeping off private property then the police wouldn’t respond.
It never ceases to shock my sensibilities when people walk up to someone filming and accuse them of being a thief or nefarious. Such rudeness! It’s shocking. Does no one have any manners or sense of decorum anymore?
The clip at the end was of actual trespass by the company DCBL where a judge ruled that Gary Brown, a star of the Channel Five show, should have made more thorough checks before entering the home in Bracknell and unlawfully search it. They have been in trouble for this many times, one of which a person was awarded £10,000 for their trespass.
Bailiffs are essentially recovering stolen goods so they are not really bad, the people that steal the shit deserve it. And also increase the prices for legitimate fair people. Why should I have to work an extra 100 hours because someone got a sports car on credit and didn't pay for it?

@@obtuse186 creditors offer ample opportunity to settle debts before going down that route, its a last resort, which means the debtor has been actively avoiding after backing out on their side of the deal, no good person does this. A good person in bad times would actively explain to the creditor why they are unable to fulfil their side of the deal and renegotiate. These people are just fraudsters and scammers.

One cunning "businessman" used my services, didn't pay the invoice. I sued him, got a Court Order and even with that he kept ignoring me. There was no choice, I had to use a bailiff as the last resort.

I'm of a like minded opinion as you, AB, in regards to this horrid programme. I've only seen a few minutes, and it was more than enough! It main aim seems to be shaming the person for being poor, humiliating them, all for spiteful entertainment. Absolutely horrible!... Well done for giving them a taste of their own medicine.

I’m pretty sure that door at the top of the fire escape is a fire door, you can see the green signs and it’s 100% the fire escape… so they are breaching H&S regulations by propping that door open and using it as an entry and exit point in a non emergency. I would inform the landlords as it’s putting their building at risk.. if a fire broke out and fire doors are propped open it could affect the spread and containment of a fire
What is the purpose of a fire door? Is it the same as a fire exit? Are the two terms mutually exclusive? Can, or should, a fire door be on an external wall? Thoughts?....🤔
@@reb0118 Firedoors are used to prevent the spread of fire and contain it. They should never be left open/propped open as that stops their effectiveness and increases the fire damage risk. They should never ever be used as the primary route of entry and exit to a building. Clearly in this case the office workers are too lazy to go through the front reception and up the internal stairs and instead use the fire escape as a way to access the building quickly (when there is no emergency) that at worst is a risk to life and at best a risk to the building Fire exit and fire door are two totally different things
@@arturobandini4078 it’s more about risk to life and protection of property worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.. Look at the bigger picture .. or at least comment something intelligent. They are in serious breach of h&s which could end up killing someone.. that someone may be a son or daughter, a father or mother, a grandmother or grandfather.. have some compassion!
AB...I was in UK for 2 years in late '90s. Had the opportunity to be there again 10 years later for 3 months. Your visit to these places remind me of of my stay there and at the same time enjoying the places that I had no opportunity to visit. Thanks AB for your effort.

Excellent, AB😁 I was a bailiff for a company called Swift credit that had a office in Wales and Milton Keynes I don't know why I went in to a job like this as it really upset me most days. I was going to people's houses that were really struggling in life and had nothing, so to add to their misery was just too much for me. Don't get me wrong I visited some big houses that belonged to some wealthy people who just didn't want to pay what they owed so these I did enjoy visiting. But there is a big difference in affording to pay but choosing not to and struggling to pay and end up paying alot more. One house I visited was a young single mum who was really struggling and owed hundreds of £, she had no spare cash to give and had no goods to seize. This was the my final case that made my mind up and I left that house and cried n cried, then I phoned my wife to tell her that I couldn't do this job and that I was quitting I then called the head office to tell them and felt such a relief. With all these bailiffs it's all about getting the fees in and making the debt bigger, if people struggle to pay then why make the problem worse by adding on outrageous fees.... 😩
Re, walking through an open gate. It's not that it's lawful rather it's not necessarily unlawful - a subtle difference but important. Private land does not need to be fenced, gated, nor even signed as such. However if you do not do so then you risk unintentional trespass. The legal remedy for this is to inform the trespasser of the situation and request he leaves your land. In this case AB was warned that the land was private before he attempted to enter it and he was warned that action would be taken against him. Whether that action would have been effective, legal, or proportionate is up for discussion .
You can bet your house most of the people that work for this poor excuse of a company, were once cops, or people that wanted to be one. (Plus fired ones.) Takes a real lower kind of life form, to even think about wanting to work for a dept. collection agency. Tells you all you need to know really.
