Yeah this is easily one of my favorite vehicles in the early German Tech Tree. Quite a breath of fresh air to be able to use the armor as armor instead of wet tissue paper. And I don't care what anyone else says, those side skirts have absolutely saved me more than a dozen times.
The StuG Gs do need MGs historically they’re either in the loader’s hatch ( the armour plate on the top right ) or a coaxial. Late war they even had the remote MG of the Hetzer
Sometimes when trying to have fun, I use either this or SU-122, find an enemy up close, sometimes ram them from behind and yeet them out from existence. Really worthed it really, lol
@John Matrix Sherman have 50cal. Turret, tricky armor (I don't say that StuH doesn't) is quite fast, better depression and overall is stronger. So, I think it would be fair if the StuH was on lover BR. I know that on 2.3 is stug A, so I think that StuH would be at 2.7 quite nice.
@John Matrix still good anti air gun, if your main gun is gone, you can destroy enemies gun too and xou can pen early versions of pz4 or any other paper vehicles..
Take a strong mid tier vehicle (in this case the Stug III G at 4.0), give it a low velocity gun and a crazy low battle rating (3.0) = instant clubber. I will never understand Gaijin's battle rating logic.
The Blenheim's guns are incredibly accurate. If any german gets behind an experianced blenheim gunner they are as good as dead. I'm not kidding. They are that accurate for some reason.
Hey Odd, I was wondering how do you hear enemies, do you recognize different engine sounds or how you can hear them this accurately? Do you have some specially configured audio settings ? Thanks :) and great video as always, I noticed you on RU-vid only recently and I'm working thru your backlog, it is just awesome and especially my beloved British tanks and their wonderful teapots !
All engine noises sound the same as each other with the exception of the Maus, etc. My game is loud compared to what you hear on YT, I'm also half blind so need to make up for it with sounds.

I know it's extra work but... any chance of a supercut of the agony you suffered grinding the Stuka? As a Duck-flyer, your supercut of your struggles in that was extremely validating :laughs through tears:
I prefer the StuH. The armor seems more reliable, it's quite a bit more mobile than the Sherman, and the HEAT round (which is exclusively what I use in both) has a significantly higher velocity and less drop than the Sherman's round.
Just a side note, don't carry full ammo when using the B1 bis because about half the ammo is inside the engine compartment (19:46), meaning your tank is much more likely to blow up instantly or pretty quick if you get shot in the engine
This game looks super good now. The damage you see on your vehicle in the bottom left is really vivid and some tanks now look like the models on the front of model kit boxes. Then when you get in the game it’s even better. Looks rustic almost. Congratulations on scoring a great PC. Edit: 24:14 ish THAT WAS A HULL BREAK WTF

there's a tank that benefitted immensely from volumetric shells. Only thing now though is they have to completely rebalance the game which they couldn't do in the past 7 years anyway. Playing tanks right now revolves around finding the right vehicle that can really take advantage of the volumetric shell change at the right BR.
Churchill Mk. 3 with Tempest Mk V Vickers P? The Churchill I always find fun and the plane is a gem at 4.0 with 2 very powerful 47mm cannons for ground pounding. Love the vids Odd!
The Snowflakes look like the old Windows star screen saver when you are driving through them. On another note have you the M4A5 Ram mkII? I saw a Phly video he took it out and had a pretty good run with it. Curious how you would run with it. Love the content and glad to hear your PC is on the mend pre new PC build. I've actually learned to play a little better since watching your gameplay. Odd: out of all the Components he was shooting at, he hit my engine. Me: welcome to my world. Every time someone shoots at me with like ten bullets it hits and kills my engine.
Yo odd I hope you know it but just in case if you are in battle and hold (default) "O" key it will show you x ray of your tank (works on everything not just tanks) so you can easily detect what is wrong with it ... Anyway good vid and have fun!!
I was JUST about to start begging you to play the StuH... It suffered even more than the Pz III from the volumetric armor changes because its best 105mm HEAT shell always hits weird bits of tanks and never goes through.
i had no clue that the STUH 42 G had 80mm frontal armor lmao i kinda just avoided it because of its reload ill def have to research it and take it out sometime
I never understood why Germany never developed a belt feed or something for the 37mm. Even in the 110s where you carry 66 shots, it's just the gunner in the rear constantly reloading
Ya the game kicks people sometimes now and they will sit there and shoot their machine guns forever. They never run out of ammo. I know because it happened in 10 games yesterday and one game was 15 minutes long and the guy shot the whole time
Contrast to Brightness ratio is the key to see the enemy tanks better, the black levels need to be adjusted for your eyes. Play around with your Monitor Settimgs in itself mostly they are badly calibrated and some options make the image look worse and give u some input lag or even have lower resolution set on default by whatever reason
Honestly you should replay this tank using APHE as primary ammo… I’ve found that most of the tanks you fight are squishy enough, and you can weak spot everything besides 105’s and other shermans and kvs
Yep Ground Targets and Omni Purpose have cermet core rounds that have nearly twice the pen of the Air Targets, but Ground Targets have 75% cermet while Omni are only 25%. And the AP-T in the Air Targets is only 25% of the belt too, the rest of the shells pen even less.
This is my favourite tank i played so my games with that Only weak spots are the space between the gun and the hull, cupola , the right hand side of the tank where the ammo is stored BTW this was before volume metric shells so :/
If you don’t already have a press account, you qualify for a war thunder press account to get pretty much infinite fee ge. That way you won’t have to grind air rb in the Stuka and can just use golden eagles
This is not true. Maybe they used to. I’m part of Gaijin CC program, they do give you some GE but I never use it to grind vehicles. I want to experience the game the same way as everyone else.
How can you fly with the ju-87 g-2? When I took it out it literally couldn't gain altitude and I was constantly getting lower and lower until I couldn't keep it in the air and crashed. It was good for 2/3 strafes. After that it wouldn't go high enough and it's a brick so I couldn't keep it in the air.
Bro In the intro all it takes is 1 Zis 30 and your done for I mean you should give the Zis 30 a shot it’s crazy 145 mm of pen at 2.3 I use it in 5.7 and even 8.3 and it gets the job done I’d love to see it on the channel (Edit) 1:54 LMAOO knew it I said that b4 I saw the Zis 30 knock you out
Its nice they folded down the mg shields on the stugs so that big weak spot is gone, but why not give us the option of weak spot with MG or no weak spot and no MG?
