Hush dude, my God, don't go telling Kroger how I can afford to be living high on the hog. Drinking Kroger brand Orange Juice and Lemonade. Eating that store brand gourmet...its all the rage, BIDENOMICS FOR THE WIN! At helping to bankrupt and destroy the American Middle Class and way of life for millions of citizens.
Same. I get food stamps, and I am supposed to feed my family on 400 hundred a month! It really gets to me the videos that are like, "I can do it, so can you!" Prices keep going up, but my disability stays the saaaame age. Wait, I'm getting my quotes confused again.
It's really more about having the right pants, with the right pants you can stick the package of ground beef down there and a carrot up your...nevermind.
1) dice the veggies smaller and cook them until they become sticky but not brown. 2) Brown the meat (you stopped at grey), and proably want it a finer texture too. Break the meat up when it's still red, much easier. 3) sauce like this really needs time to reduce. It was super watery and loose. 4) good job saucing the pasta. Adding a little bit of the pasta water will help thicken the sauce and help it cling to your pasta. Everything was here. But I think you could change certain things and really improve the dish.
For anyone curious of confused… this is making fun of how YT channels say ‘Oh! I can make a gourmet dish for under $5 or $X’ but in reality, those channels don’t tell you that the AMOUNT of ingredients they use cost what they claim. In reality, the ingredients these YT channels have in their fridge probably cost them $60 at the grocery store, and the single serving dish they make equates to the under $X that they claim.
@@rj_levels3753 I’m talking about all the ingredients. Think about when you go to the grocery store. If your stock is empty, you need pasta, sauce, cheese, butter or oil- and that’s just a simple pasta dish that would put you at $15, and that will only be for 3-4 servings. These more gourmet pasta dishes that use onions, garlic, herbs, spices, meats, runs you up another $20 at the minimum. I’m stating that the amount of ingredients used for a single serving equates to these sub $10 prices that the channels claim. But in reality, your shopping cart is going to include all servings and ingredients. Heck, that celery was $3.99 and a serving only needs a stalk.
I get you point tho, you just made it sound like it’s wildly expensive to make a meal, when really it’s fast food that is actually expensive, 1-2$ taco sounds cheap at first but then you realize how many tacos you can make by buying the ingredients from the grocery store and how little it would cost you. Of course it wouldn’t be however many cents for one taco you’d have to buy the whole pack of meat and cheese etc but that should come down to less than 20$ and you could easily make more than 20 tacos with those ingredients and anything you don’t use you can store away for later.
@@rj_levels3753oil is 8-15 dollars, chicken is 12.89, pasta is 3.99, cheese is 3.20, milk is 5-8 dollars. Seasonings can run you from 4-15 dollars. A meal if you don't have seasonings, oil, butter, or milk on stock can run you 60.
I like that even though this is satire you really have a real recipe. That’s some quality content right there!! I can’t wait to make this!! (For only $10 of course 😉)
@@GimmeACiggyYaGronk Actually carrots are correct. The base of Ragu is a sofrito of carrots, onion and celery. But you're meant to chop it fine and soften it more before adding the beef and pork.
Chef didn’t want influencers to feel bad for only having $10 so he paid for the rest of the groceries himself, didn’t even mention it so the influencer wouldn’t feel awkward. True sigma move. Respect ✊😔
Realistically though, I personally buy a pound of hamburger 3.99 1 can of tomatoes 1.29 1 bag/box of noodles 1-2$ That’s it. With the right seasoning, it’s An amazing filling meal, and I basically live off of it.
Jokes aside, I'm genuinely saving this to use for a future meal. This was so simple to follow along with and I'd like to give it a shot as someone trying to get into cooking for myself.
I think the hidden message is that you can make the most basic food with just $10, and that these videos often treat it like a crazy accomplishment of sorts because they tend to disregard generic ingredients
@@remsaruni1110this guy used to make crazy videos mainly on tiktok but the system fucked him by demonitizing all his videos so he started making lazy videos to prove a point but people loved them so he kept making them and now he does stuff like this, it's easy and convenient for him, his fans like it, he gets paid. Win win scenario. He's a pretty cool dude
I don't like it when internet chefs just assume I have all these seasonings and spices at home already and put "$0.01" in as the cost. 😭 Like if I don't happen to own nutmeg or cayenne red pepper that's like $10 I gotta spend just on spices...
Okay but with careful buying and buying bigger quantities of items at a time, you could easily make authentic bolognese or Italian dishes at home. Carbonara-bacon -4.49 $ Parmesan-4$ Eggs -2 Spaghetti 1$ … that’s 11 dollars. Also you only need 2 or 3 eggs . This video sends the wrong message that it’s COMPLETELY impossible to spend 10$ and get a nice meal out of it
@seth6691 The message of this video is to poke fun at other content creators who post similar type of videos. I'm not sure if you've seen them but in those videos, the chef would buy a bunch of ingredients that easily surpasses $10 or they'd coincidentally have wagyu beef at home to cook with. Then once they'd finish cooking, they'd claim they spent below $10 even though it's per serving, not the total ingredient cost.
So math aside, this is a very affordable way to eat. $23 for that pot, as a single guy, I'd get 5-6 meals out of that easy. Dinner for a week for $20 is pretty damn good.
