Due to the uncertain shape of Vingegaard I think he will wait for stages 14 and 15 ,saturday and Sunday, if he feels good those are stages where he can make the difference!!

the burning questions are : what shape is JV in ? and can Remco handle the mountains ?......stage 11 may give some indications but I'm expecting the answers from stage 14 and 15. A third question being a Pog fatigue following the Giro.

Remco right now is what Jonas was to Pogacar in 2021. But both have worse teams than what Jonas had that year.

If Pogacar ever starts to race like he did in 2019 and 2020 he will never lose a GT ever again. But everyone will cry even more than they do now. So be thankful for the drama, if that is what drives you.

And UAE team is so stacked that they could replicate Froome/Sky Train and tactics lol

@@WattPolice I'm not quite sure what "it" you're referring to. I don't think anyone has ever lined up for a Tour with the kind of talent Sky had for several years running. Between 2012 and 2018 they won with Wiggins, Froome and Thomas and then in 2019 they got their new wave rider to win it with Bernal after Froome's accident. Talk about depth. Only in theory does UAE have any potential Tour winners aside from Pogacar. And UAE doesn't even have the winning track record of Jumbo Visma unless we exclude all races but the Tour de France.
@WattPolice

@@indonesiaamerica7050 I meant that UAE and Pogačar can ride defensively like Sky as they have Ayuso, Almeida, Sivakov, A. Yates to control the mountains when someone attacks. Pogačar already gained time on Vingegaard and they can just do nothing on the climbs and when Vingegaard attacks as he needs to gain time they can use their mountain train to pull him back
@rainman8661
@rainman8661 Месяц назад
Given that Vingegaard has almost no support in the mountains. He loses more than a minute to Pogačar in first week. And two other UAE leaders are just minute behind him, so Jonas is in an unflattering situation. I don't see mountain stages as his advantage in this year's Tour.
@martonattila6654

Last year he won 7+ min ahead Pogacar in just 2 stages. Chill, relax.

@rainman8661 Месяц назад
@@martonattila6654 yes over Pogačar, who came after an injury and didn't have a chance to train fully before the Tour,.. currently Vingegaard is in that situation :D so calm down. In addition, Vingegaard is coming back from much more serious injuries and we don't know how his lungs will react after the difficult stages in the second and third weeks...

If you think Jonas doesnt have advantage on mountains then this tdf already is over in your mind i guess

@@WattPolice for Jonas yes..., for Remco and the others no. There are still many chances to surprise Pogačar. For example, INEOS has a very strong team for mountains as well. I know that Vingegaard is a strong competitor. But I also know that behind his success is always a strong team and good preparation. He has neither a good team nor preparation this year. That's why I wouldn't live in dreamland.

Tomorrow will favor Primoz. Jonas needs to stay patient and let UAE chase the break. Hopefully down 10 minutes will get into the break and cause UAE to have to chase hard, Visma just needs to cover Pogacar.
@fangru7294
@fangru7294 Месяц назад
Why woudl UAE chase some randoms when everyone except Jonas and Tadej (maybe Remco and Roglic too) will get dropped in stage 14 and 15?
@SpurOne76
@SpurOne76 Месяц назад
@@fangru7294 So you are new to pro cycling? It can be tricky to comprehend. UAE did in fact chase down the break as I mentioned yesterday . . . Because Tadej needs a bigger lead than 1:15 over Jonas heading to the high, long mountains coming this Saturday and Sunday and next week. Jonas excels in the high mountains that are longer in length. Tadej wanted the 8 second time bonus at the top of the next to last climb and he wanted a 10 second time bonus for winning the stage. He hoped to pick up at least those 18 seconds on Jonas. So as it played out Tadej lost 1 second to Jonas but gained 33 seconds on Remco. Remember, Remco is the best time trial specialist in the world so Tadej needed to gain on Remco because Remco will beat him in the TT on stage 21. Remco did a great job of limiting his losses, but Jonas was the big winner today by coming back to win the stage that was better suited for Tadej and Remco. Even though GC says Jonas is down 1:14 now, he’s really at least 2:30 ahead. I hope this helps. Think about it first before you decide to criticize.

This year Visma doesn't have a team like they had in the last years, only Jorgensen can stay with Jonas on those long climbs ,without Kuss and other important gregarios Visma has no mountain riders to set a very hard tempo up hill ,it will probably be UAE Emirates the ones who will put a very hard pace to make almost impossible for someone to break away, even for those who are capable to break away, they have to set a só hard pace ,which after a few meters they have to slow down, otherwise they could explode before the finish line!

You are right Visma team isnt like previous years but if some of their riders are peaking for week 3 they can still do massive damage. Wilco and Benoot usually perform very well week 3
