Maybe it's location dependent. I work 12h shifts but put the house travelling for about 15hours so the time slots I need are more ££. Can buy a couple meals for that!

Another shopping challenge…yay! And glad jojo’s arm is feeling better. Your Poundland seems to have a larger range than my local ones, the fridge/freezer section is really decent and it has plant based milk which I’ve never seen in our local Poundland and for that good price too. #freegang #livebutnotlive

For us inn the USA. We have a 99 cent store in Texasb USA. that's similar to poundland. Its great for those weeks at the end of the month & money is low but you need food... & I'm impress for poundland bc here where I live in Jacksoville, FL USA. We use dollar tree for those last week's where money just excrement tight. We down to like eating twice lucky if once. They do not have fresh fruits & veggies. But dollar tree has stepped up getting more & vegan. Plant based products. Which is so nice.... Keep the tips coming. They help so many.

It's interesting to hear about how it is there in Jacksonville with Dollar Tree, we remember visiting that store in Orlando many years ago and thought it was great, but not necessarily for food so it's good to hear they've stepped up with vegan options! 👍

Hi katie and bob before covid there was frozen food company called jack fultons poundland brought them out closed the jack fultons stores alot of bigger stores like one you were in have freezers and chilled products instore now and lot of staff from jack fultons were made redundant because of poundland didn't need staff

I feel so jealous every time I watch your supermarket videos. The same amount of food which you bought in this haul would cost me $100 or more at a typical market where I live. Food is so incredibly affordable in Europe! I wish it was like that in North America.

Here in The States, we don't have a large selection of food in our Dollar Store. Due to inflation it is The Dollar Store which it is $1.25-$5.00

Hey, thanks for your comment. That's interesting to hear about the Dollar Store not having only $1 items. That's kinda what has happened to Poundland over the years. Everything used to be £1 but now it varies

Since you've done quite a few discount shop challenges before, I'm wondering have you done one for B&M at all? It's a shop I very much like, and it does indeed sell a variety of different foods. This is great anyway, since the groceries are one of the best foods to buy in any pound shop.

With the cost living crisis right now ive started doing something similar so i use to spend about 100 pound to last a month in asda but i have found that i can save 30-40 pound by getting only frozen food and toiletries in asda just essentials and then geting fridge and cupboard food in poundland

You did well but you have the advantage of living in London. Our local Pound Shop is much smaller and only has two fridges, so it wouldn't be possible where I live. Same goes for some of the other shops you've visited. I shop around all the time and look for bargains.

This is why i miss living back home in England . Here in Ireland they have nithing like this our euro giant doesn't have food like this no freezers its only sweets crisps a few tins and bits pot noodles here are 2.40 bread is 2.64 its so expensive our weekly shop is 280.00 euros sometimes more for a family of 6 then the cats need food tins and biscuits our electricity is a 100 euros a week and thats with me not using the dryer its crazy our bins then is 36euros every 2 weeks its impossible to live in Ireland they lower the price of one thing only to make it 3x higher on another item

Ahh right the Dollar Tree is similar to Poundland, everything used to be only £1 but some prices went up. Although there are certain things that are now cheaper than £1 🙂

Weekly food shop at a health shop? I was thinking Holland & Barrett or Grapetree. It would be hard going without fresh food for a week but dried fruit, nuts and grains would suffice. If you avoid the Booja Booja truffles then you could stay within budget 😆

I find these videos interesting and I feel like these could be really helpful for people who are trying to figure out places that they can shop on a budget. Keeping in mind that everything purchased in these videos is vegan I feel like this challenge would possibly be quite a bit easier for somebody who doesn’t have the same restrictions on what they’re purchasing if they don’t follow a vegan diet.

Can you do a comparison between branded and unbranded foods from nutrition point of view. I often worry about cheaper food having more salt or sugar etc in it

That's a great idea, thanks for the suggestion. We did a few branded vs unbranded videos a while back, where we compared the prices and taste but we didn't factor in nutrition so that would be interesting 👍

I hope you see my comment you might recgonise me from comments now, i just wanted to tell you i tried the vegan sausage roll the other day an i really enjoyed it, i ate it cold cos i was doing shopping but im deffo gonna be buying it again and having it hot next time haha, i gotta say i havent watched for a little short while and is it me or has jojo shot up lol? usually boys his age shoot up like a rocket but he looks so grown up now, you have a beautiful son you should be so proud of him, hes such a polite well mannered kid, he will go far in life for sure

@@FamilyFreedom haha he would be handy for helping me reach stuff, im 4ft and in a wheelchair so I use a litter picker grabber, I will definitely buy it again and have it hot next time as I enjoyed it much better than the normal sausage roll, they do have a vegan Mexican chicken bake which I aj yet to try I don't do spicy stuff so I'm gonna ask my sister in Law to try it first haha

I know what you mean, we say the same thing, everything in Poundland used to be a Pound, now you have to remember to look at all of the prices 🙂

live but not live from Australia i would love to see a 30 pound budget in an expensive place in Australia vegan food is very expensive for me so i would love too see the challenge
