Well, as I black woman, I thought I could at least go for the low-hanging fruit of "don't burn Atlanta"...you know, given that it's celebrated for being black-owned. But the amount of backlash and disdainful vitriol I got was genuinely surprising. I didn't even dare say don't riot (and i mean riot, not protest). Given the push-back I got, I can't even imagine how scared people who are not black must feel. I highly, highly respect you for taking a steadying breath and posting this podcast.

Sam, you need to write that "Letter to a Young Liberal." The world needs it, and you're the one to do it.

I'd like to see Ben Affleck weigh in on this conversation...

Hearing Sam drop the 13/50 percent bombshell left me thunderstruck and laughing at the same time

Sam Harris needs to be given the opportunity to give this message to Congress so it can be part of the nation's government transcripts.

Thank you for being the voice of sensibility and reason. Your treatment of arguments is very fair and even handed. We need more voices like yours to be amplified.

This episode is incredible. I wish more people could speak this clearly on this topic

Hearing somebody apply critical thinking feels so good. I'm old enough to remember when people agreed to disagree and you didn't try to destroy someone because they have a different opinion.

I know this is a tough subject for Sam to speak about... but as a Black man in America 🇺🇸 I just want to say thank you Sam!

The hardest part of this conversation, for me, is that I find the person I am talking to locked into a binary way of thought. If you think this, then you are on that side. If you think that, then you are on the other, and if you express thoughts that reflect views from one percieved side or another, then I'm often told I am confused. The idea that you have to pick a team and ride that team's rhetoric without thinking about the rhetoric and it ignores all the nuances in between.

That was the first ever episode of Sam Harris's podcast I ever listened. Power was out, it was dark all around me, this is how I listened it, with 100% concentration while waiting for electricity at the same time.

I cannot believe that reason....being rational in public...is now an act of courage. But I see this podcast as an act of courage.

What scares me the most, is that a monument of intelligence and rational thinking like Sam had to make a 40 minute tiptoe introducción to have a logic conversation on a topic that needs the most brutal, honest scrutiny, because of the claim it’s intending the world to believe.

As a black living in the US, I think that this episode was very valuable. The people that do not agree with this (Black or White), are people that chose to follow their emotions over reasons. It is sad, but the more people are doing that, the more the USA is in danger of plunging into civil war. I hope that more African Americans would watch this (even outdated as it is) and think more seriously about the proper way of building a less racist society.
