Got one from work that we were tossing. Surprised to find out it was loaded with 32gb of ram, 512ssd, and an i7 4790. Running it as my ESXI server right now and it's been awesome!
I got this pc last year for 300$, it came with an i7 6700 with 16gb of DDR4 ram. It also came with 256gb ssd and a 500gb hdd. I threw a gtx 1650 in there and it works really well
What power supply do u have, I have a 320W psu with i5 4590 and a stick of DDR3 GB RAM along with 1 tb ssd. I wanna use a 1650 so is a 320W power supply gonna be enough?
Sorry for the late response. @Umar Ali I use a 280w power supply, the GPU works fine but my psu gets a bit warmer than what I used to get with my previous gpu (I had a GT 1030).
@@HammerSSBM thank you for the response,i also found another pc with the following specs:Gtx 750ti,intel core i5-4590+ asus mobo,120gb ssd,8gb ram and 500gb hdd..which one do you think i should get? This pc with gtx 750 is on a custom case, the first pc i mentioned on my other comment is on a hp elitedesk..
The HP EliteDesk 800 G series are my absolute favorite. They're all a MATX motherboard that has 1 x16 pcie with 2 x1 so for a normal PC you can add a GPU, Sound Card and like a Wifi/Bluetooth card or whatever else you want. I want to get myself the 2018 model with the i5 8500 for the 6 cores performance.
@@RAVisuals I recently bought a few g1's off eBay and I'm hoping to get this 1600x900 @75hz monitor from Amazon bro if I get an Rx 550 4gb single slot or the Rx 6400 it's gonna be a wicked build and probably flip for the kiddos in the neighborhood to get into PC gaming for cheap
I got a free pc similar to this frim my old hob. I can't remember the specs but it runs pretty great. Just have to dust out the inside and upgrade the graphics card
I just bought, just 30 mins ago, the same model on Ebay, for my gaming room. I'll put the faster i7-4790 and the full 32gb of Ram. Thank you for the tip about graphics cards, I'll look for one of those 1050's that you used ;) A shame that someone busted your laptop-type burner in it. I could see the inner casing was still mounted, but the tray was yanked out :( Mine is coming with that burner, but I'll upgrade it with a Bluray laptop burner ;)
I got 2 found of these free on the side of the road working had 16 GB RAM along with 4 Accer PCs but with missing RAM and hard drives. I'm doing a recovery of the Windows product keys in the motherboard bios so I can install Windows 10 on them. Thank you spring cleaners for not throwing useful PCs in the trash.
Someone left a 4-year-old working Dell laptop 8GB RAM with an M.2 drive by the trash can with the power adapter, for spring cleaning trash pickers. I had to install Linux mint on it for my friend who found it.
RU-vid send me here , and thank God they did. Nice video, straight to the point. I would like to ask if it would be possible for you to make a video with one of those cheap set ups for Euro truck Simulator. There is not one Tech guy who makes a video about that game and it's sad, lots of people like to play that game. Not all games are shooters lol. I hope it falls in your area of einterests. Thank you for your service Sir, I salute you.
HP Elitedesk 800G1 Business Desktop PC - Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 240GB SS, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, 20 Monitor, RGB Productivity This is what my gf surprised me with, I don't have a pc otherwise. I wanted to make one or get a decent laptop initially, but she surprised me with this, but idk if I should just what? She intended to get me parts to upgrade, but, to me, is it worth it? I heard the best graphic card options for this are expensive now. Is it worth upgrading this ancient thing? I wanted to edit hours of recorded footage from a go pro, daily. As well as make music digitally, I think FL runs on here, but to what degree I'm not sure. Again, mostly, I wanted it to make videos and music. Is this crazy to keep? To me I know it's the thought that counts, but if the pc is immediately obsolete upon arrival then is it worth it to upgrade every upgradable part, plus will it even at that point do what I want it to?
I have the same pc but in my country low profile gpus are so hard to find and even if you find one they are just too expensive and sadly I cannot upgrade my pc😢
i did the exact same thing but when i try to power on the board it will not power up. i have the original power supply and original power button and when i push the button all it does is blinks once
Hello! I have a video idea! If possible, could make a video on how to case swap this pc? From what i have seen it just seems to work fine with modern atx cases. But most of the people that do this do not really show how to do it. If you could do a video on it that would be great!!!
Good luck upgrading the power supply though if you're looking to fit a more powerful graphics card... currently the gtx1650 low profile card costs the same where I am as a gtx1660 super
I actually found one in a dumpster (G2 with SSD) and it worked. the bios setting were all off so i guess they tossed it out cause it ran horrible when i first hooked it up. i put a gt 710 card into it and I'm using it on my living room TV...
hey bro good video, you have given me new ideas. I have the same model of your PC, I have seen that the power source of my PC is still 240W, do you think that if I put a gtx 1650 LP on it, it will work? greetings from Mexico!
So I am mum with very little tech knowledge in this world. My son is turning 10 and one of these has popped up on my local fb page for sale. He is an avid gamer and I was thinking of getting him this but would like to know if it will run basic games like roblox/ minecraft/ some steam games? He plays more advanced games at his dads but I thought this might be a good start and then we can upgrade it together since he is very interested in tinkering/building/electronics. Any advice is greatly appreciated! TY
Hello i bought the same computer about 2 or 3 months ago and surprised me that it worked really well with casual low to medium end games with intergrated graphics, but decided to wrap it up and threw in a GTX 1050ti. I know that with a power supply of 240watts capacity, it seems there is no problem whatsoever, but i just want to upgrade my power supply just to make sure. What PSU of higher wattage would you recommend for this SFF build?
Update: Yes guys it works really well I'm not having any issues whatsoever and the PC is very good for casual gaming. Definitely the GPU was worth it, although i got the Gigabyte version of the 1050ti not the MSI one, which was a little bit more expensive but hey that's ok. Now i wannna upgrade the RAM a bit and throw some additional 8GB inside since i only have 8.
Hi I Have HP EliteDesk 800 G1 twr version and I m planning to buy gtx 1650 the normal not the low profile, so its will fit in the case without problems?
OMG the hard drive bays on these are absoltue aweful. I don't know how you can scr33w up a 5.25 and a 3" drive bay but HP found a way. You can forget the traditional mounting via 4 side or bottom screws. There is no way to mount either drive in here without them flopping around. I finally just shoved a drive in there floating around and used foam to keep it from rattling. And opening the case was infuriating as well. Instead of two screws on the back, there is a handle you have to pull up and yank on the top cover of the case. WTF. seriously. WTF HP. PC techs do not appreciate change. Or non proprietary connectors. I would say, avoid these machines, even if theyseem like great buys. You can't put a ful height GPU in them, and the power supply is propreitary and only 250 watt. They are not as awful as Dells or Macs, but they are not much better either.
Thank you for sharing this type of content! I recently received a couple years old HP or Dell desktop from my buddy and looking to upgrade it for capture card recording with my consoles and to also get into some PC games on a budget. Seems like it’s a great perk to have the main computer already for cheap and then just throw in some upgrades when in a budget.
Wow, I’ve had this same pc for a few years, and i was looking to upgrade it. This helped LOADS with getting parts that would be compatible with this pc. Thanks!
Just got this model with the same processor, 8gb of ram, with a 250g hard drive for $60 off eBay. I'm going to convert it into my first Plex server and connect some external drives for the video files. This video was helpful in making my decision to purchase.
I picked up a similarly complete setup last month from a university auction for $19 and change. No hard drive and a single 4 GB stick of RAM, but it had an i7-4770 and a slimline Blu-ray drive. I dropped two 8 GB sticks and a terabyte SSD in it and it's now my home Proxmox server.
I just bought an Elitedesk 700 G1 for £40 off of eBay. Very similar to this one, in fact, it looked identical. I bought it as project for me and my 5 year old daughter who has been helping me buy, sell, refurb, and build PC's/parts for the last year or so. She's super eager to play Roblox & Minecraft so I figured we could scrape something together. It came with an unknown CPU (turned out to be a Pentium), a 250GB HDD, 4GB of RAM and the 240W PSU you showed here. Disappointing, but workable. Budget-wise, we aimed for the £200 mark, including the cost of the PC. First thing we did was source a GPU! We got a GTX 1050Ti for £60! Crazy right? Well, it turned out to be faulty, but the guy kindly sent over some spare parts he had when I told him what we were doing, so I kept the GPU to sell because he sent us around 20GB of mixed RAM and an i7-4790! The i7 went straight in, and we sold the RAM for around £55 all in all, and the GPU went for £40, meaning after fees and shipping we were actually a processor and around £20 up! We then purchased 16GB of G.Skill RAM for around £30 and another 1050Ti for £100, putting our total outlay at £150, but still needing storage! Plot twist. I managed to snag a 1650 for £100 on eBay, so I needed to sell the 1050Ti and amazingly made £120 from that, so around £10 up after fees and shipping. Free upgrade! I found a 2GB HDD for £13 (brand new too!) and bought a 500GB Sandisk SSD for £30. So total cost was around £183, so far. Pentium --> i7-4790 4GB SKHynix --> 16GB G.Skill No GPU --> 1050Ti --> 1650 250GB HDD --> 2GB HDD + 500GB SSD The system runs great, but I am a little concerned about the CPU fan, it's pretty loud even though it is doing a good job at cooling the i7. That's how I found your video, I'm trying to find people who have suped these little PC's up, you've more or less done what I've done, I was hoping you might have modded it a little further, but still, really nice video and I'm so pleased to see I'm not the only one still messing around with these old bits of kit!
Good job.. You can open the fans up (by the plastic tab at the back) to clean and oil them, I'm pretty sure you can still source the fans as well. You know you can actually run a 4790K on this?
I actually read all of this Try additional 80mm case fan. I added one instead of HDD because 500gb SSD is enough for quite few games, and could slide in another SSD if needed
Dude this video is perfect man when you actually measured the card it helped me a ton I’m planning a putting a PNY 1660s do you think it’ll fit width wise it’s 6.6inches long
AMD A4 PRO-7300B APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.80 GHz 16.0 GB (15,8 GB usable) I basically have the same thing but can’t play a match of fortnite what am I missing 😂 is it just a better graphic card?
They sold these in their literal thousands to businesses worldwide. Recently bought one with ssd drive, 8GB and same processor to use as living room media centre. Perfect for that even without a graphics upgrade.
Hi, nice video. I hace HP elitedesk 800 G2 SFF i5 -6500 ddr4 maybe graphic GTX 1650 be compatible fo this motherboard LGA 1151?? Thanks and Salute from Uruguay
Question, I have that same HP 800G1, I am going to install a Geforce GTX1650, I know the power comes from the PCI-E rail thru this 240 watt power supply. Nividia recommends at least 300 watt power supply. Will the GPU still work and will it work properly? If I upgrade the PSU, the watt at the rail would not increase anyway right?
can u help me because i have the same pc with same psu but with i7 4th gen and i got a HIS Rx 560 gpu with 3 4gb rams. It booted up at first when i plugged the gpu but then as i was using the computer the display suddenly disappeared and i turned it off. then when i pushed the power button it started to have 4 beeps with red blinking lights. i tried to reseat the ram and the graphics card but it still wouldn't boot and still have 4 beeps with red blinking lights in the power button
give those flashing lights a google search and see what you come up with! Hp should have a manual explaining what the flashing lights mean. My initial thought is that youre overloading the stock power supply with the rx 560 maybe?
