I'm not sure if you did get it because I didn't catch it in the video, but if you talk to Stonemason Kith in the Grymforge and pass all three dialogue checks (Perception, History and Investigation) he will give you an Infernal Alloy, which you can later trade with Dammon in Last Light Inn via dialogue for a Flawed Helldusk Helmet. Both of these are obtained via dialogue, no looting or trading
Is that specific version of the infernal alloy actually able to be used multiple times? Like as long as you don't exit the conversation, you can repeatedly choose the option and get the other 2 pieces of the armor.
Yeah what’s good about that alloy is that it will actually get you all 3 armour pieces (the gloves, helmet and armour) as long as you just keep selecting the dialogue choice “I found this metal in Grymforge what can you make with it”.
@@BradTheAmerican if you’ve got 3 normal pieces of infernal iron you can use them, but the Grymforge specific dialogue option uses the single infernal alloy piece that you get from that trader (either through dialogue, stealing it or buying it). I think at the end of the game I still had around 6 spare pieces of infernal iron left over (even after fixing Karlach and getting the gear), so there are “extras” littered around the game in case you miss the earlier ones. It’s a shame there’s not more to do with them, like that you can’t get Dammon to turn them into infernal explosives or something.
Letting Alfira die and loosing the potent robe and a bunch of other supplies was a move I did not expect, but at lest you got Bex's cookies, I wish she gave us the recipe in act 3
I actually couldn't get Bex's cookies because somehow her husband died in the prison break... Even though there was 0 enemies alive in all of moonrise. I have no idea how, plus he was the ONLY prisoner who died. I was excited to show off those cookies too
She never gave me cookies even though he got safe back to her and she said thanks. Didn’t get cookies so maybe it’s a glitch. In another run she was sad that he didn’t make it back alive even though he was standing right next to her 🤔🤔
5:25 Last time I did it this way, the Moonlantern was put into my inventory when the fight for Isobel *started* . I guess it's a failsave in case Isobel dies during the fight. But hearing that damn pixie whimpering for the whole fight was ANNOYING. And it's the only reason I know it happens in this order in the first place.
just from the intro, i had a brief overwhelming feeling of how the baldurs gate 3 fandom is blessed to have a content creator scene as amazing as it is. Thanks!
Sounds like some weird vampire rules but instead of not being able to enter others' home without invitation, you can't use an item unless it was gifted to you
If you pass the intelligence checks at Grym forge with the one Duergar, he gives you an infernal alloy which you can give to Dammon 3 times to recieve all of the flawed helldusk armor pieces.
Right I read another comment and regret missing that. I knew you get XP from that dialogue, but didn't know about the infernal alloy. Would have been super useful too
Even my channel name is Starcraft :) ""Proxy Gate" a SC strategy. Yeah I always worry about making it loud because with headphones on it's much louder. I test all my vids with Speaker, phone, and headphones before I upload and the headphone music always needs to be low.
@@ProxyGateTactician I didn't even make the connection that's awesome. A true master of strategy, bg3 is honestly a perfect avenue to use strategy. Feels like most games now days don't have as much strategy elements like StarCraft of bg3. Fun stuff. But regardless great vid man. Ggs
Absolute genius! I still love the cat character. That all cats video is still my favorite but it was awesome seeing the whole gang in action together! ❤
I like reading video descriptions just fyi. lol Love the avengers style team up of the previous videos protagonists for this one. Keep up the good work Proxy. 😊
I can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans we all can get up to in Larian's next game. But since that will be years away, I'll have to watch my favorite RU-vidrs crack BG3 wide open!
7:39 These little book-style slides elevated the video even higher, to be honest. Great choice! And as usual, good work. Have a wonderful day!
I read video descriptions. Congratz you farmed me for engament. On a serious note: Superb rule set once again! Very fun too see the return axe be exploited this way, I had no idea it even existed.
"Although things hadn't gone fully as planned..." Proxy, it was all precisely to plan. lol I'm seeing playthroughs of the Trials of Tav mod, that'd be an interesting one to do some challenges with while waiting the long 84 years to Larian's next masterpiece.
The house cat giving the speech and detonating the nuke on the brain made me laugh out loud. Funny thing about globe of invulnerability is that a mindflayer's mind blast can still stun you and break concentration which happened to me trying the exact same strat at the end there
I've watched a lot of your videos and enjoyed them despite have only made it a couple hours into act 1 (game kept crashing on startup despite all troubleshooting efforts, waiting for next major patch to try again). I still have no idea of what the plot of this game actually is and I appreciate that. I just enjoy seeing all the various ways you can play the game and I also like that you don't waste time with 5-10 mins of rambling at the start of every video. Here's to another year!
@@ProxyGateTactician honestly I forgot you would need to have been given something that you can give to him to save him when I typed this lol but I think you're right about that method. Maybe also could extinguish the torch, and use like protection from poison on him and pop the mushrooms? I've never tried doing that but maybe it's possible to save him that way too
@@JPNDTS Yeah I did think about it, but kinda figured moving the backpack is using an item so I just left him behind. Ur idea though im curious if it would work that sounds clever tbh
FYI Quartermaster Talli will actually hand out 3 food packs, but each character has to ask her and pass the persuasion check. I tried to do it a 4th time but she said “I would give it to you but it appears I’m all out”. Also at Moonrise Araj Oblora will give each character a free blood potion and depending on what each character is will depend on what the potion does (also if you have a Wizard/Gale question her bloodline first she will also give you some “shutup gold” along with each blood potion). Then in act 3 you can make your blood become explosive through talking to her (by excepting the gift of a questionable potion from her). The annoying guy Naaber will also give you a necklace if you put up with his ridiculous questions for a while (Absolute Confidence Amulet: grants the wearer a +1 bonus to Performance checks at the cost of -1 to Intimidation checks). Also I think the Waterqueens armour would have worked well in fights as long as you had water under your character that throws the hammer, as it would mean you heal as each turn as long as you were standing in the water.
I did grab all those things too, but because they ended up not doing anything for me I cut them from the video. The blood thing actually was worthless for my races, and the armor could have been ok then I guess, but I just decided to toss it for the memes lol
@@ProxyGateTactician good point, because of the restrictions you made for this playthrough you couldn’t get hirelings to get extra blood potions. In my recent game I went through and hired all the hirelings and got her to make a potion from each of them, then I went through the 8 camp companions and got one from each of them too. Some of them are really good and they stack so can all be drunk by one character (unlike normal potions), but I think the Elven one is probably the best as it gives an extra 10m movement per turn until long rest. Also if you talk to Zorru he gives you the quest to kill Kagha, and if you do so you get some gloves from him as a gift (Hellrider's Pride: When you heal another creature, it gains resistance against Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage from weapon attacks and +1 to Strength saving throws). Most useful on a Cleric or other healer character though. And if you talk to Auntie Ethel in the grove and choose the option that’s something like “I just feel a little tired” she will gift you a healing potion (the round 2nd level one) and I think you can do this once per character. (Same with the Gruel you get from the grove, you can have every camp companion/hireling grab a bowl).
If you had Wyll in your party you could have also gotten a rapier from Mizora in the mindflayer colony but I liked the fact you used for previous characters for the challenge
I'm sure it's gotten commented by now but with correct dialog options Auntie Ethel can give you a Greater Healing potion in the Grove. Wouldn't have made too much of a difference in the run but felt like mentioning it anyway
I absolutely loooove the idea of using a party made up of your previous challenge runs, makes for a real enjoyable video, i have to know what the final playtime was for the run
What an incredible journey the year was with your fantastic channel full of super exciting challenges. Congratulations! I hope we will see even more videos from the BG3 master!🎉
Nice run, keep it up. That's a really good channel. I can't wait to see your next run. Personally I wonder what will be my next. Probably single character and I must never reach the end of round 2 in combat, or I have to reset the fight. Gonna end up assassination I suppose.
I don’t know if you know this yet or not, but if you know where the end of the invinsible maze is you can just click the platform that’s invisible there and the character auto paths there
3:49 um actually? the correct term is prisoner of war 1:40 don't you get parasites for helping the goblins? cant think of many places you can get them as a gift, maybe siding with nere? fun fact (i played this game too much), you can double dip on nere. once for siding with him and one from his corpse after "saving" him. no sympathy for dwegar slavers, easy to keep the gnomes alive as they usually* don't join the battle. *lumps war horn may cause the gnomes to join, also they might join the dwegar (you ARE with nere, though the ogres might be it too) but i cant remember that correctly
Happy channel birthday!!! You're a very creative person and its always a joy to watch you ❤ PS also wanted to mention that I really appreciate you using DOS2 soundtrack in the background, it feels very home-y and familiar (and makes me happy to know DOS2 isn't as unknown anymore)
