Imagine this from the POV of Lanius' backup: "Face me alone, coward" "OK" *Pete slides down the hill* *Lanius follows him* *A small sun explodes* You walk down there and there's just a red spaltter all around
On my first playthrough I ended up wandering into scorpion gulch at a low level. Surrounded by rad scorpions i was on a rock picking away at them trying not to die. This is when Easy Pete just randomly appears out of nowhere and starts blasting. He killed them all and wandered away into the sunset. It was such a random event but Petes been a fave of mine ever since.
One of the biggest reasons I have always loved Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and Fallout New Vegas was the random stuff that happens. Newer games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim are fun, but they never seem to have those NPC moments where you are just like, "what was he even doing here?". Those moments are why I can never forget these two games.
Fun fact, the reason the age slider doesn't let you go old like Easy Pete is because the elderly in Fallout 3/NV are technically separate 'races'. There are mods that add them to the race list to let you play as an old person.
I checked the wiki and honestly I'm surprised that one of Easy Petes tagged skills isn't barter considering he's a prospector and would have to spend most of his life negotiating prices for his living.
Given Pete is a prospector, I feel like you really should have done Blood Money and use one of the various cheese methods to actually steal all the gold in the vault
14:15 - 14:20 This happens on occasion, even on the PC version of the game. Sometimes, the Legion assassins will spawn, creep up behind you, walk closely, and suddenly bolt away from you as if you're the most terrifying thing that's ever existed. I actually witnessed it once while trying to take a screenshot, it was hilarious!
even more hilarious is in some places, they'll spawn, and while trying to approach you they'll encounter NCR civilians exercising their Second Amendment freedoms, and you'll only know the assassins were present from some distant gunfire.
15:46 I think it’s funny Pete won’t give you explosives because he doesn’t want you to use it carelessly… then to discover he is way more of a maniac than the player would have been
Ah yes. The fourth Eldritch God of the Wasteland. The one so unimaginably powerful, his mortal shell gave him dementia in order to forget his own destructive potential.
Beat fallout 3 as nicholas cage Rules: Must complete stealing independence Upon arriving at rivet city must get pinkerton to turn you into john travolta Small guns and charisma build
15:10 That caught me way off guard. So much so that I nasally exhaled a bit too hard and cleaned up the allergies I’ve been suffering with for the past week 😂 Well done Nerbit
I think there's a playable Super Mutant mod for Fallout 4, you should try a "Can you beat Fallout 4 as Strong" run: - No lockpicking - Only Super Mutant weapons (obviously) - Always choosing violence as your preferred outcome - Helping settlers when possible or needed - Only healing through raw meat from the various creatures of the wasteland and canibalism (and sleeping) - Siding with the Minutemen - Always collecting the empty milk bottles This could be a base, other rules could be implemented
11:52 God, I don’t know what it is but the 3 seconds of time where you get the hear the poor schmuck who’s about to get obliterated yell something in slow-motion always cracks me up. I threw a gas bomb at a powder ganger once in vats and he said “WHAAT IS THIS SHI-“ before he became paste
That ending to the run just gave me a flashback to the first time I beat FNV; I was around level 27 or so, and knowing that I had virtually nothing left to do in the game (I had sunk about 3 weeks into my character), I decided to finally face the Legate as I was going the NCR route. The fight lasted all of 6 seconds as the single 40mm grenade round I used launched him into the stratosphere before he promptly succumbed to gravity and noclipped into the depths of the Earth. Somehow, the game registered this as him dying and I managed to trigger the cutscene with General Oliver, but I’d like to imagine that the canon for that timeline involves Lanius hiding underground, waiting and plotting. P.S: gud video btw
14:27 Love how George outside Nellis just takes a final drag off of a cigarette while he watches the fuse of the dynamite on the ground in front of him get shorter and shorter
I personally think that Easy Pete would be a man of science more than action, for one simple reason: Gotta be careful making dynamite, else a mistake would ruin your morning.
Not science per say, just very knowledgeable with explosive compounds. Heck, I'm ultra shit with math. But I'm a mighty fine carpenter, does that make me a trigonometry genius?
Here's an interesting challenge idea I came up with: "Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas as a Doctor?" Rule 1: Do No Harm - You personally cannot inflict any injury on a human being or sentient Ghoul. Ferals, supermutants and animals are fair game, though. Rule 2: Doctors Without Borders - You must remain at least amicable with all factions of the Mojave for as long as possible. Rule 3: Heal Everyone - You must find and successfully treat all injured personnel you can find. This includes passing every Medicine skill check in the game and treating the injured patients at Forlorn Hope and the Boomer camp.
Two ideas: Can you beat New Vegas as Malcolm Holmes? (Yes, you'd have to do the bottle cap hunt) Can you beat New Vegas while going through withdrawal for every type of drug?
"as who _really_ tags explosives in their very first playthrough?" **starts to raise hand, remembers she stuck with something like Speech Science and Unarmed and just. Levelled explosives manually, puts hand down** ... as a side note, I kept the speech tag with a charisma of _Four._ Maybe three. Probably three, I could see myself valuing agility over that.
16:18 As many playthroughs I've done and as many videos I've watched of you and others playing New Vegas I have *NEVER* seen anyone take Benny out like that!!! Loved it, gonna do it next time 😂😂😂😂
I legit laughed out loud when I saw the thumbnail. I never thought this day would come. Such a great video, I might actually try this challenge myself. Looks really fun!
Literally couldn't stop laughing at how everybody just stood there obliviously after you chucked dynamite at their feet. Even the Legate just ran headfirst into that big pile like he didn't even notice it. Get a helmet with eyeholes next time bub 😂
Love the dynamite chaining, I even set traps once on a explosives playthrough but never thought to cause chain reactions! The one in the Khan's Longhouse is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in New Vegas. Bravo, Nerbit!
when heading to nellis afb you can hear g the cliff face and run around the edge of the borders to avoid getting hit by the bombartments, this is a quicker technique than the one you usually use
11:47 this got me so good - everything was perfect 🤣💀 that’s probably EXACTLY what I would say… also that decanus right after just survived getting his nuts blown off
I just thought of this challenge this morning. Can you beat Skyrim as Van Helsing. Play an imperial with an impressive beard and you can only use a crossbow and you must wear leather armor until you get the dawnguard light armor and you have to wear a hood of some kind. Complete the dawnguard dlc and the main quest.
Can you beat fallout 4 as Tallahassee from Zombie Land? To do this you have to of course dress the part Can only eat fancy lad snack cakes to heal (substitute for Twinkies) The only gun you can use is the lever action rifle, but you are allowed melee and explosives. You cannot use a companion (alone on the open road) You should attempt to get the Zombie Kill of the Year (Kill someone in a spectacular fashion) Finally I think that Tallahassee would probably side with either the Minute Men or the Brotherhood. (Bonus You have to say "you either nut up or shut up")
15:09 "I really could not be bothered with the back and forth fast travelling just to help jack score some crimson caravon-ussy" Never change Nerbit, never change...
Have you done an Ocelot run yet? It'd be similar enough to this one (the .357 revolver is basically the Colt Single Action Army) but it'd be fun to see how much backstabbing you could do.
@@Nerbit13098 I figured it would make sense in New Vegas with the faction system, since there's a lot of people you can double-cross. You can't go undercover like in 4, but otherwise it's just better.
Auto axe is the best weapon ever (at least the most fun). Its actually kinda broken when used from stealth. Crouch, sneak up, hold the button and watch how the enemy explodes into itty bitty parts of gore
Even though it's similar to the "can you beat fallout new vegas with only crafted weapons" I would love to see "can you beat fallout new vegas as Fatman from MGS2" you can only use heavy armor, a 9mm pistol and C4 explosives. Love the videos Nerbit, you've actually inspired a playthough in my own game, where I beat the game as you, using your favorite playstyle and character face, keep making videos they help me get through rough times, and I'm sure they help others as well.
This was a fun one. I appreciate the ingenuity with the chains of explosives. I have a challenge idea though, Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas with the single shotgun? It should be easy to start, since there's one that spawns in the house that sunny Smiles and Trudy live in if Chet doesn't have one for sale. I feel like almost everyone overlooks it as a weapon, and that it usually gets sold unless they took Jury Rigging. Taking the reload into account, it has the lowest DPS put of all the shotguns, but the tightest pellet spread of all the non-unique shotguns.
Here is a suggestion for new video ideas: How about challenges where you play as Metal Gear Solid characters in Fallout games. You have stated before that you like the Metal Gear Solid series, so why not combine the two? Revolver Ocelot in New Vegas is obvious, with New Vegas having thst cowboy theme. But I have another interesting idea: Playing as the Fury in Fallout 4. Nuka World has a astronaut helmet in the Galactic zone. For non-helmet armor, there are three options. 1.) Use the space armor from Nuka World. 2.) Get Paladin Brandy's black reacon under armor, and get a shot of painted black combat armor (without helmet) 3.) If you want to spend money, you can buy the Captain Cosmos quest from the Creation Club, and use the space power armor (with jetpack for accuracy). This option, while being fun, does cost actually money. So it's understandable that you may not choose it.
