I always do this before getting the mark of Caesar because I think it's hilarious that the most ruthless and savage leader in the game forgives me for waging a one-sided nuclear war on him. Then I just betray him again and wipe out the entire fort for funsies. I would save the NCR forgiveness too but, I just wanna get the Presidential Suite to stash my gear/companions and I don't really mess with the NCR until I ultimately side with House anyway. Although, nuking either side won't actually turn them hostile. If you nuke them it will trigger hit squads and upon talking to them and fighting them your rep will drop and you fail wrath of Caesar/Don't Tread on the Bear. However, if you manage to avoid the assassins you can still interact with the faction you nuke and do missions for them.
Completing the main story and lonesome road with only the BB gun implies that that version of the Courier is either crazy, sadistic, mentally a child and not really aware that he is killing people, or a mixture. Considering that they are always a person of mass destruction, that has some horrifying implications.
As someone who once ran out of ammo in FO3 and had to kill a Super Mutant with the BB gun at level 3, I couldn't even consider trying to fight the Lonesome Road Enemies.
@@Kenfren once my holorifle decided it would be fun to say that it was hit by a deathclaw (weapons CAN get hit,and its op)it broke,my other two options A:my knife B:a varmint rifle its at that moment that i knew im fucked up
Ulysses:"The Bear and The Bull, they both wanted the divide but the div-" *Gets shot in the eye with a BB* "Mother fu-" *Gets plinked again* Courier: "I got 4000 more of those headed right at you." *Loads BB with malicious intent*
Ulysses: "You know these barely hurt, right? Hell, I don't think I've felt one sin- *CRITICAL STRIKE ON ULYSSES!* Ulysses: "OW WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT?"
My latest save is a melee/BB build inspired by these runs. It's a sustainable build and really satisfying. Deathclaw hunting is still tricky but super fun.
@@clunk3771 uhm acktually its blade of the west, blade of the east is lanius' blade, REAL fans know im kidding, but uh yeah i love the blade of the west is probably my favorite melee weapon (second is probably the unique proton axe)
Imagine having this insane climactic battle with some dude you utterly despise and for some reason he just insists on using the shittiest gun imaginable. It barely even hurts when he hits you. BUT HE JUST KEEPS GOING. You think you've got this in the bag, he's using a childrens toy and you're using real weapons and have backup. There would be a point where you suddenly realize "Holy shit I'm actually losing, this guy is actually fucking killing me with a BB gun" Wouldn't it be hilarious if there was a secret ending where if you got him to low health with a BB gun he'd just scream "No NO I am not dying to a fucking toy!" and tries to escape out of sheer embarrassment?
@@bobbilly1531 yeah but if you have even leather armor in real life it won't hurt at all and most enemies have some form of metal/iron armor but I'm not complaining it's a video game after all
“Another one pops up to stab me with his David Bowie knife” “It looks like ED-E just dismembered him with his sith lightning” I love the quotes you can come up with in a video, they are amazing
I weep for you. This is its own ring of hell. Dante claimed there to be nine, for he feared that the knowledge of the tenth would kill humanity’s will to survive.
I've had an idea for a challenge, inspired by a post I saw on reddit. Basically, can you beat Fallout 3 (Or Fallout 4, your choice I guess) as Butcher Pete? The idea of the challenge is... 1: You can use only bladed weapons like a machete. 2: You have to keep the radio on at ALL times, and when Butcher Pete begins playing on the radio, you have to kill everyone (And I do mean EVERYONE.) in sight until the song ends. 3 (Optional): You can only heal from eating meat or cannibalizing people. It sounds like a pretty simple challenge to me, but I thought it would be pretty fun to do. *Hack, wack and chop that meat*
the abilene kid bb gun is so powerful with sneak crits that i use it on every playthrough as ranged sneak weapon. i mean, over 100 damage per shot with a sneak attack critical and the better criticals perk. twice that if it's a headshot. not many opponents can take more than 5 headshots even on very hard. i thought the lift was a nod to half life since that game has a level with a pretty similar lift ride and you get swarmed by headcrabs. in the cave of abaddon you can jump on the car to the left right before the arch and they can't reach you.
@@mastermikey7984 It's in the base game. It's given either through an unmarked quest from Rex (Wild Wasteland) or in a marked building on the road to Nellis Air Force Base.
I think the broken dude with Red Glare was out of ammo, usually he carries a lot but I’ve had a couple encounters where he had no other weapon, and refused to use his fists, despite having shot his ONLY rocket. God bless Todd Howard, he certainly needs it.
Here's a thought I dont think I've seen. Can you beat new Vegas while playing gun swap. When you kill someone, take their weapon, and use that instead of your own, then so forth so forth. Essentially giving you variety of weapons. You aren't allowed to repair their weapons either
@@PesterJester3 enough enemies use melee weapons i feel like eventually he would get a small stockpile and unless part of the stipulation is he cant buy ammo or take it from containers it shouldnt be too hard. Homestly constantly swapping while keeping track of murder order would probably be the most annoying part.
@@Magicarpmaster he can only use weapons of the person he last killed. Meaning, once he kills someone, he drops all his current weapons, takes the new ones and uses those, as for ammo, that rule is up to him if he wants to only use ammo from whoever he kills which will make it harder or he can use his own stockpile of ammo. Another rule, he can't use weapons of other people to fix other weapons
He really tried to kill Ulyssies like a absolute god with just the BB gun and every possible obstacle in his way. Hats off to you bro Good show we need more hardcore runs like this
Yo there's a New Vegas mod called 'Classic Fallout Weapons Remastered' that adds a bunch of weapons from Fallout 1+2 into the game. I think a "Can you beat New Vegas only using classic weapons" could be a fun video.
I’m on my 10th play through of NV and I only just realized you can deactivate the eyebots through a console. When I fight Ulysses, I just blow them up.
I have an idea for a challenge that no one has ever done: “Can you beat Fallout 4 as Nagito Komaeda?” In this challenge, you can only use weapons, armor, items and perks that rely on your luck SPECIAL attribute like the righteous authority and the 2076 World Series baseball bat. Think you can beat the commonwealth as the Ultimate Lucky Student?
I do the exact same thing lol. No matter who I am sided with, I will always bomb both NCR and Legion. Just for the extra gear to kit out my squad of companions.
Definitely would love to see more DLC content. If you're looking for some ideas might i suggest can you beat (insert DLC here) with only what you can get in the DLC, so just drop everything in your inventory before entering it. Not really much of a question of can it be done more of just a fun and interesting way to play
Dead money kinda forces you to do that anyways. The only way to circumvent that is to do lonesome road before dead money, kill rawr and take his claw, then craft the first of rawr while you’re in dead money because his hand is labeled as a quest item and thus can’t be removed from your inventory until you create the weapon with it
That bonesaw voiceline was beautiful. As soon as I saw the name all I could hear was that line. It's gonna be stuck in my head everytime I play new Vegas now
At the ruined highway interchange alongside a wrecked motorcycle there's a "roughin' it! bedroll kit" which allows you to sleep and gain health anywhere except in buildings!
Nerbit, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate these videos, I look forward to them immensely. So happy to see them pop up for as long as you feel passionate about making them!
Can you beat Fallout 4 (can be whatever game you want tbh) while addicted to every chem and fully crippled as a baby. (Could be on the hardest difficulty if you wanna torture yourself even more)
@Nerbit challenge idea. "Can you beat Fallout 4 as Preston Gravey"? You can't attack anyone until you acquire Preston's outfit and laser musket by equiping something else on him to get his outfit. You must also help EVERY settlement before you complete the game and do the Minutemen ending.
The last time I did that elevator section they slid across it and passed through the back wall so I just walked back and forth avoiding stopping them from their mission to ignore physics
I love how the Centinel Marked Man with the Red Glare stopped shooting you when he witnessed that a human being made his way into the devide and scrapped all the heavy weaponry he had on hand to only use a Toy-Gun with such grace he knew he wasn't kidding... An event that enlightened him and made him remember that deep down he once was still a human... way before the NCR and the legion... someone who much like him didn't live for the thrill and blood, but rather to live his life the best he could represented by the Courrier's loyalty to his weapon... Thus making him drop his ways and sit on the edge of that destroyed building to see how far he has gone... Only to have E-De fucking atomize him 😂
The unique BB gun is one of my favorite guns in the game. I know it's dumb, but silently taking out Cottonwood Cove or Nelson with a BB gun is just... very fun.
The red ryder bb gun with a high luck / steath build is actually quite good. I did it with the naughty nightware as a joke once on very hard and was suprised to find it quite effective.
I’ve got a challenge idea for you Nerbit. “Can you beat fallout 3 with the traits the G.O.A.T gives you”. The rules are you have to keep the traits the game picks after taking the test and you can only upgrade those 3 traits throughout the run.
I remember playing lonesome road with a melee build on my second play through and it was so stupidly easy. Just ragdolling a deathclaw with a heavy attack and then oneshoting them.
The title reads "can you beat lonesome road with a BB gun?". With that qualification, I'd say using an antimat rifle with a BB gun in the inventory would count via loophole but I appreciate the dedication to making much more entertaining content.
Can you beat fallout ( any game ) as one punch man. Some people have done it before but not right. Rules: only unarmed weapons and each opponent must go down in one hit to win.
For these runs instead of the rule being "Can only use X weapon" you should change it to "Can only deal damage to enemies with X weapon" that way you don't have to worry about things like the detonator or shooting the radios in Dead Money.
I know it's been four months now, but I can't help noticing you missed the third level of riot armor available after EDE leaves you. It's the only armor I ever leave the Divide with, and I basically never take it off after that
I tried talking Ulysses down my first time as well. For some wierd reason if you go the independent New Vegas route, but don't immediately kill House, lonesome road recognizes your choices in favor of the Old World ending and not Wild Card. Plus if you do it that way the speech checks for Vegas fail.
I wouldn't have expected you'd get through the tunneler hive with just a BB gun. That place shreds me even when I'm using proper equipment. Running was the correct solution.
Nerbit: "I planned to leave him be-" ED-E: "Your free trial to life has expired!" *turns marked man to ash* Nerbit: "Wait, what did you say ED-E?" ED-E: ""
I tried to kill a protection with the abilene kid version, only reason I could was because of the increased critical hits, normally it took around 20 shots to get the health to go down by a single notch
I don't think I used Ede's weapon repair once in lonesome road. That dlc has so much shit that during my playthrough I needed to get strong back and a few other item related skills just to carry the useful junk in my inventory. I went into lonesome road on my most recent character with about 5 weapon repair kits and came out with about 40 of them. I'd say it's one of the best places to make money while avoiding missing the point of dead money considering that the commissaries replenish caps instantly meaning you don't have to wait 3 days to sell off 30 grand worth of armour and weapons you'll never use
My first experience with lonesome road was my seconf playthrough at level 3 as i wanted to speedrun all dlcs and not understanding what ones i should do first i ran straight to the coolest sounding one and saw level 25 recommendation and said nah im that guy, it was the most painful hours of my life and i trugged through suffering while trying to keep everything i could possibly sell
If a game has a long lift and/or elevator, you KNOW you're going to be swarmed by enemies either waiting for it or while riding it. Unless it's a weaponless horror game, in which case the cable line will snap and the lift will fall.
@@Nerbit13098 you actually replied. Yay. I was glad to be here quickly. I love your chanelnsjd have been binging your videos latly. I love can you beats, especially fallout. And this video just makes me all sorts of happy
To be honest, I haven't enjoyed your content that much... Until now! That was brilliant. I really enjoyed it. Well done 😁🤟🏻 I really struggled with the deathclaws, I found lonesome road extremely tough (until I took the assault carbine with me). It's not a DLC I see very often and it's so old there is almost a "newness" to this 😆 Cheers 👍
