Wait, based on the text of the email, it implies he only came to help you so he could dodge the debt collectors. Which, considering he confused 6k pokos for 10k pokos, actually tracks pretty well.
White Pikmin being at the bottom is criminal for Pikmin 2. They're amazing for treasure and berries because of how fast they are compared to everyone else. Pikmin 3 and 4 really ruined them so hard by making everyone faster, limiting the poison hazards, and getting rid of buried treasure.
White Pikmin are my favourite Pikmin next to Bulbmin, and it really does make me so sad that Pikmin 3 and 4 basically took them out back and shot them, but at least 4 threw them a bone by giving them back their poison damage so that one white pikmin is enough to kill a bulborb iirc vs Pikmin 3 needing like 5 whites to do that if they're eaten.
For anyone wondering, I'm pretty sure that every treasure Press A collected would still be obtainable in the vanilla game, with the obvious exceptions of the globe halves and everything which he used Bulbmin for. As for getting to the Snagret Hole in vanilla, you can either use the Five man Napsack glitch shown in the video (since you require the Yellow or Blue Onion for it to work) or lure the Creeping Crysanthemum on the ledge to fall down taking advantage of its attack as demonstrated also in the video. Cool concept, overall good video, but it's a bit disappointing that this is modded while the thumbnail and title make it seem like this will be a vanilla challenge. Would've been nice if you at least directly acknowledged whether or not it was possible in vanilla, and why not if it wasn't

If I remember correctly more effort went into the Titan Dweevil itself than the rest of the hack, solely because I wanted to trick the player into thinking that they could cheese the Titan Dweevil with yellows. Also yea demon core funnie
This is a great video, and the mod is cool too, but personally I feel like in challenge like this, adding nerfs like not having an onion and buffs like needing les pokos feels arbitrary and takes away from the satisfaction of the original challenge imo. I'm not saying that it's not valid exactly, just that it feels less like "beating pikmin 2 with only yellow pikmin" and more like "beating a version of the pikmin 2 that only uses yellow pikmin and is a little different". In fact adding additional challenges doesn't necessarily do that all the time, but instilling those challenges into the framework of the game itself does for me. I just personally prefer the "we need to use red pikmin for the tutorial, but we can limit how much we use them as much as possible" kind of approach over the "we changed the game in a couple ways, mostly to make it harder" way, but I'm also not good at explaining how I feel lol, though I felt i should express that just out of honesty as a fan of this channel and of challenge videos in games in general. But other than that, very fun, keep up the great videos!

But Listen for a moment, Its Possible to get the Wall down with reds by throwing them at a very specific angle on the wall, and eventually it will go down, I did a run where I cant use Purples or whites unless needed for 100% completion. And NO i am not skilled enough to do a creeping chrysanthemum belly bounce. But I am skilled enough to get past this wall. So when the wall gets broken down to 2 or 1, you can throw your pikmin across, let them attack and Kill the Creeping chrysanthemum, and because, they will go over to the bridge and do this 🔄. And you can whistle the pikmin off the corpse on the other side and you can command them to attack the bridge. 👍🏻
Seeing actual rom hacks get used to make these challenges work with the Pikmin types you don't normally start with is a really cool evolution of these videos, it's opening up the possibilities here by a lot!
One day he's gonna have to play this game with only white pikmin. Might have to change the naming convention, though. (replace "yellow" with "white" in the title of this video and say it out loud. You'll see what I mean)
Usually the strat I see and use myself for the Titan Dweevil is using yellows to take down every other weapon and THEN the shock therapist last. Since, y'know, yellows are immune to it. They also reach the parts more easily so that's a plus.

oh this is a whole different thing i was kinda looking forward to clipping through hell or smn to get yellows early good idea, though doing another challenge with another pikmin that acts like a default avatar until its resistance is relevant would have been meh
All watching your videos has done for me is instill a deep, wanting desire for them to have created a port of Pimin 2 to the 3DS like they did with some other GC titles. I played that game so much back in the day; I had 25,000 Pikmin on my last save file, but I have no place to set up a GC anymore.

To be fair most of the changes were either to prevent the hack from feeling lame/mundane and shaking up the vanilla experience Like if I just swapped reds for yellows the run would have ended in the first cave, that’s not a fun hack
@@captainjaysalty Part of the fun of these challenges is getting around these stipulations. That's why I love these videos. Also, not having purples is the only thing that could matter in first cave.

Yaknow, I've been thinking on how possible it is to beat Pikmin 2 if you have to end each day with a Pikmin Extinction, Barring Day 1 of course, and then so it isn't just a big tedious grind, putting a 30-45 day limit until the challenge is "Failed" by just saying the President got his fucking knees removed or something if the debt isn't paid off in time, or whatever excuse is needed to even put a time limit on Pikmin 2 if you go the rescue louie route. I know this was something done by JinjoVitis for Pikmin 1, in any case. Also would probably wanna mod in Ivory + Violet candypop buds to just more easily get White/Purple Pikmin instead of needing to go to a cave for them every damn time or something.
Is there really still no skips in valley of repose? I’d love to play some of the caves out of order but can’t find anywhere to napsack. If it’s possible to skip the water gate without blues someone please let me know
Man, what I wanna know is where people can find Pikmin mods, I can only play 1&2, and you can only do so many playthroughs of the games unless you do challenge runs like you and Lemon
i like pikmin mods but not in challenges like this i mean this mod let you cheat you should not be able to use other pikmin in a yellow only challenge and it did not need to remove your onion and it made it easy by changing the amount of pikmin needed for things

Yeah both of us have different editing styles and approaches to videos so odds are there will be people who enjoy Dans videos more and people who enjoy mine (Ty) more, but hopefully both styles are still enjoyed!

Hey! We currently have our vods available on Patreon. That said, the large enemy video will be posted to the channel next week and includes the highlights from the entire challenge. And regarding a live stream schedule, I wish we had a more consistent schedule but it’s kinda tough right now, BUT we will both be streaming this coming Saturday around 330pm ET and I’ll be streaming the last of the large enemies challenge Sunday evening around 7pm ET :)
RU-vid made me replace the music at that part and I didn’t realize the music was blocking my audio so I just reduced the music and hopefully now my audio can be heard
