So. Fun fact for the Nuwa fight. If you bring in less than 4 Demons, she will exclusively use Zanma and Sacrifice of Clay. So you can instead only bring in Sudama, Fortuna, and a Sudama-affinity Nahobino to absolutely cheese her. I am surprised so few people know about this cheese strat.
i'd assume most people wouldn't think to expect the game to work on that kind of logic because man, if that was randomly and deliberately programmed, f those programmers
For the first turn, she'll go Mazio guaranteed. Just bring a single Elec Dampener and you can skip her first turn. Then all you have to worry about are the normal attacks she'll do before charging up Sacrifice of Clay. Just heal up with Fortuna, and you'll be fine.
@@FungalFury "Absolute Suicide" is a stretch. While you generally want a full party for maximum press turns and all the advantages that brings, I've reduced my party size enough times to see it as a legitimate strategy than a boss gimmick. When faced with "I could re-fuse my entire team to resist this boss, or I could simply bring the ones I already have who are immune anyways" it's kind of a no-brainer to me: minimize the grind. There's a reason why so many Solo Challenge runs of SMT and it's spinoffs actually kind of laugh off bosses that are normally on the harder side, and vice-versa. That said, SMTV moving towards Persona Timers on buffs/debuffs definitley makes this less appealing, since you need to refresh them and can't just set-and-forget, making the lower press turn amount a potential concern if you're not fully immune to a boss and just mostly unconcerned by it. I can't imagine actually soloing Matador in SMT3 if my own Sukukaja wore off after just three turns, as an example. Signed: A longtime yet still on the casual side SMT fan, who's played a bunch of the games but not all of them. For example, Vanilla SMT4? Yes. Apocalypse? No.
in the nuwa battle if you are alone and use skills or items every turn, she will always go for zanma so if you have a force immunity you should be able to "easily" win
When I started this I thought it was gonna be "If Nahobino gets hit" but you're doing of ANYTHING gets hit. That's crazy! Can't wait to finish the video!
Looking at all those saves, it occured to me that one crucial feature that vanilla SMT5 didn't have was the ability to delete save files. I really hope they've fixed this in Vengeance. It was a major annoyance.
I always felt so satisfied taking out bosses on Hard in this game. Proper preparation is everything, but it seems so bipolar sometimes. If the game wants to fuck you over, it will really badly because certain things are so punishing, like missing taking away two actions so missing at a bad moment and the enemy getting lucky crits can get you killed.
@@menthols4625 Thats just SMT in general if you play it on the hardest difficulty, on IV:A on Apocalypse difficulty I just had the bad luck to make a doubletap with the incorrect skill on a boss, missed and lost my 2 last turns, then the boss just obliterated my MC, and since it was Apocalypse difficulty, its just like Nocturne and V, if MC dies, game over.
@@XxDeViLBrInGeRxX the one problem with smt v's combat is enemies feel spongy as hell on hard difficulty. other than that it's probably peak smt turn based combat
I’ve just had a thought Jack! Immediately after the tutorial Deamon fight, Aogami teaches you HOW TO HEAL WITH MAGATSUHI. You have to take that hit in NG or else the tutorial makes no sense! Just wanted to make you feel better 😂
Wierd take, But, as frustrated as you get at the game trying to get through without raking a hit From the CPU perspective who forgets everything that isn't saved: You're just an unstoppable untouchable ultra instinct asshole who won't sit there and take your lumps like a good player
I’m glad I got to check some of this live, it was a blast seeing it. I’ll be watching this when I get home from work, but I already know this will be a good video
Holy, I finished this game ages ago and I never noticed that the demon Petra have his 1 inch banana complete with 2 rambutans out in the open like that.. LOL
Video's been out for a while, but wanted to say that this is a super cool run! I watched this live on twitch when you first did it and it was really fun. You are just a really great streamer all around. Also very surreal to see my handle in the vid and see you responding to my questions on RU-vid 😅
So I'm not the only one who feels like a big chunk of the game has been cut last minute ? Cause Dazai's story is kinda ok but the other characters feel like they were planned to have a lot more but don't.
Love this kind of "playing the game wrong" runs, what's next once you finish whatever is left in this run? Beat smt v without attacking? Items only? Looking forward to whatever comes next
My first playthrough, I chose to do on hard and chose to defeat shiva. I did at least 40 runs before I finally beat him and regretted my decision to finish that quest.
Hey Jack? You think you’ll ever do an SMT IV or Apocalypse challenge run? You mentioned 4 is one of your favourite games before, so I think it’d be cool. And I personally have such a soft spot for Apocalypse… (best music, fight me 🤣)
If you already have one of a demon you try to recruit, they'll go away and usually give you an item, too. I think that would have worked better than trying to run away from the Jack Frosts.
Great video and fun run but... my god some of the stuff you said is everything wrong with the smt fandom. "simply dad told me to not like this game so i don't like it anymore." and "this dungeon is boring because it makes me use my head for 5 seconds."
My partner sent me the game and idk if this was a glitch bht i dodged attacks and got near damageless on the tutorial, it might be possible, but the same way time travel is, i hope it is, but no guarantees
That goes to Apocalypse for me, if that counts at least. I only struggled with the neutral route on SMTIV vanilla (fuck that route holy shit) and the early game of Nocturne. 1 and 2 were easy to cheese what with them both being old as shit and V was a breeze the moment I realized that it was basically Nocturne 2: Electric Boogaloo. All in all the hardest SMT game bar none is still Jack Bros.
@@drumo2273 I'll agree with Apocalypse. I'm currently stuck on YHVH but the other bosses took me atleast 2 to 3 tries each everytime I got a new one to fight.
wait, got a question if someone can answer, hum, why did he do a main character physical build if he was just going to use a monster with an amazing physical skill, and most tough enemies were resistant to physical? that just sounded like extra work for nothing.....
i started on casual and i dont think casual is casual its more like harder then a normal game would be,i barely made it through the first game on casual,my other playthrough with reborn where allot easier but even vengence version while reborn stil had 1 annoing thouf fight in it on casual that boss was a freaking damage spunge even on my lv 99 charc with improved stats.
Eh, he's more or less right. Though the game itself says "Fee-on", "Finn" is generally the more accepted pronunciation, but both are correct. Though he did say MAC a little too hard, should be more like mic
@@jgal7979 Ah. I can't hear how he's saying that part, it blends in with the background for me. I guess I've just heard enough people completely butcher it that this one seems spot on lol
Hey, really late here but it is the danganronpa v3 investigation theme ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kl4VnTNuS-0.htmlsi=mai3DV_lowOvyIn4
thats pretty much every SMT game u get stronger much faster than the difficulty of the bosses only exception being nocturne on the highest difficulty even then its arguable
Lol, watched simply dads video and decided you dont like the game as much? Dont let other peoples opinions affect yours. Especially his, he literally hates everything and is blind to any critical feedback of what he says. I agree it seems some stuff was cut during development and that it isn't a perfect game (none are and V definitely does have some flaws but for atlus' most ambitious title yet they did a stunning job). But simplydad literally treats V as if it is the worse thing to come out of smt and even called it the worst game he played that year. Either he only plays perfect games or is just an exaggerated internet persona that loves getting off on hating stuff. He also loves articulating what he says in a way as if it is fact rather than opinion. Then he literally said 'cant wait for people to start hating V cuz i said i did' even though people had issues before he made his video, proving that he loves the idea of changing peoples opinion.
You literally said that he must have changed his opinion on smt5 because he watched simply dads video, but then went on to say that simply dad wasn't first one to be critical of the game and he must be full of himself for thinking people changed their opinion just because of his video. So which is it?
@@JaredConnell I'm not contradicting myself in that statement. I said that Jack said he has changed his opinion on V as a result of simply dads video. But i am also saying, as an aside to that, that simply dad has a massive ego, so much so that he believes he started the smt v hate. I am not saying he hasn't influenced people (with outright misinformation in parts of his video) but I am saying that he isn't the start of it like he seems to believe.
