With our last RU-vid car we tried coca cola as an motor oil but how about coolant? And since our radiator is broken we have to try fix it with flex tape.
The car starts to be in quite bad shape... So if you have some bit more destructive video ideas for the car now is the time for those :D And if you have suggestions for next RU-vid car please let me know! I probably wan't rwd or awd car so we can drift it on frozen lake on the winter
Just finished watching the video that was freaking awesome. You guys sure know how to make an entertaining video. And I like the Drone outro that was awesome!
Good idea in theory, based on the advertisements, but after the abysmal display put on by flex tape in this video, i have a feeling that stuff can't hold anything together at all
I was cringing so hard when the Coke was running down Lauri's arm when he was applying the Flex Tape. I'm always annoyed when I have sticky fingers from sugary drinks, but imagine your whole arm (and armpit, torso, ...) :D It would be interesting to see if one of these two component puttys is able to fix the hole in the radiator. Maybe with a bit of preparation (cleaning the area, let it dry, let the putty fully harden). The manufacturers always claim it can stand heat and pressure, but with THAT hole? :D
i was cringing at that to........ imagine having a bath in coke then letting it dry sticky all over your body and "hairs" lol then rolling in sand and cotton wool
Yeah, having anything run down your arm inside your leather jacket sleeve, even pure water is not nice. Even seeing it and thinking about it made me feel uncomfortable to the point of almost triggering a rage fit. Seeing someone not react at all is kind of impressive. Some fuel(causes cancer in the State of California) or used engine oil(with heavy metal contaminants) on my hands and even dirty grease on my face... nah, not very annoing at all. FIrst thought is that I'm just going to take a bath after I finish this. :D
Some spray expanding foam for the big holes and 5 egg whites in the rad for the smaller ones ...... fixed.... ! In fact you should crush a big spray can of expanding foam !!!
This might not be very original but possibly put a brick on the accelerator and have it drive off a cliff. Film in slow mo with that dynamite stuff you guys use... have it blow up when it hits the ground lol. Also have one of those Clay figurines you guys use be the "driver" ;)
Offroading my 96 Blazer once the rad blew a huge hole way out into the bush.. We patched it with some tarp and a lot of duct tape! It leaked but luckily I live in the Pacific Northwest and it was winter so there was snow and fresh running water all over the place.. every 20 minutes wed just pull over and fill it back up with ice cold water.. Didnt even crack the block.. Made it home just fine, replaced the rad and she still runs strong today with 400,000kms.
I've always believed that the more they advertise something, the less likely it is to live up to expectations, and I've seen Flex Tape advertisements frequently for the past ten years.
Nice having your own car lift! I also tried using a similar thing to flex tape to stop a very small leak in a plumbing system. It also didnt work! I think this stuff is no good. Bad advertising!
I imagine once liquid gets between the two surfaces, its ability to stick and hold is greatly reduced. And now after watching the video I think it was more to do about not-so-clean surfaces, and lots of little places for the coke to drip through. Considering the size of the hole though, worked pretty good lol
Radiators are usually quite easy to replace. It's better to do it, than clog the system with some bullshit powder that will stop working after few months anyway.
I remember that day ...36c outside a leaking cooler and i had to drive with the the heater on full power untill i came out oft the stucked traffic ...hell
Try fixing the leak with polyurethane. I'm pretty sure that will fix the problem. Puncture repair foam did the same for my same kind of "fun car's" small tyre problem.
If you get an old Volvo for peltoauto next year and fill the radiator with Vikingfjord, you guys could do a guest spot on apetor's channel. Does Flextape work with alcohol?
How about an oxy acetylene explosion? Maybe first see if you can make it run on it.. then fill the transmission/engine crankcase with oxy/acetylene and each or any largish cavity and of course ignite each.. Then try the gas tank, then if anything is left fill the cab use a weather balloon to hold the gases. If anything is left after that, get your friends in with the high explosives.
I can’t believe that any adhesive tape is reliable on a wet surface. I’d have just dried the radiator as much as possible and used epoxy - but that probably wouldn’t be as amusing.
