I have a cool idea for a new quiz. Test the pandas on their knowledge of spirits by showing them a spirit and they have to guess which character it represents. For example for the waddle dee spirit you would probably have kirby represent the character as they look fairly similar

i got all except dedede which I guessed lucas for, but i think lucas is a good guess his alts have similar colors the default colors are the same and they both have a monochrome one.

This might be hard to make as a quiz (or not if you're using some software for it), but it's honestly a ton of fun! ESAM and WADI thought they were doing bad, but they did really well - it's legit hard without a photographic memory. Marss was mashing (both the keyboard and his brain, lol), but it's all cool. I know he knows his stuff. Also I got so thrown off by Samus - I think if the Orange square was above the Red square, I would've got it instantly. That mixed me up hard.

It's a wholly different experience for them since it's not their specialty to pay attention to these types of details. We get it more because we're often more keen to details like this since we're more spectators than players.

Now this is a fun quiz. As a fan artist for Smash character alternates, part of my process has been to study each character's alts so I can have good reference points for what changes color, what the inspiration is etc. Please force the team to do this again. I love it!

lol, Marss was so done halfway through when he guessed "Wolf" for Rob's colors. Honestly, that wasn't a TERRIBLE guess, given that the red and black as well as the pink colors fit pretty well, but he'd absolutely given up at that point.

I missed Terry and didn't believe ROB had so much black; I thought Corrin, but I was confused by the lack of skin colour, the first two being pretty much identical meant to me, that the character swaps between two different verions.

I got 6 but should have gotten more. I was close on Corrin (immediately recognized it was a FE player character so it was between Robin and Corrin but I actually forgot Corrin exists) and I had the thought the last Samus color set looked like one of her alts but didn’t realize the next to last one was the Light Suit-based design.

After that first one with Link taught me what to look for, I only missed one after that! I used to spend a stupid long amount of time devoting character’s alt colors to memory so this was a really fun lil challenge!

The Ridley palettes were actually evil; I was racking my brains for way too long to figure out which character had pure white on all but a couple of their skins until they revealed those were just empty spaces on the bottom, lol.

This is why I'm glad they did Mario before that, because it had a black border around the white square to show that white was a color in the palette. Without the border, it's a blank spot.

Not exactly what you said but I got an idea from it, have a list of inputs that are bread and butter for a character. It will be obvious for the FGC characters, but think like a grab > down throw > nair x 3 and you'd pretty much immediately think Palutena. Maybe an additional hint like as to the function of the combo, whether a kill confirm or for damage, maybe OoS too.

Only ones I got were Terry, King Dedede, Mario and G&W. Occasionally playing Terry helped me notice the normal and updated Terry Skin thankfully

Just thought of a similar idea to this. Maybe whoever makes the actual quiz can pixelate the characters pictures. That way it’ll be slightly easier for the pandas to guess since the colors will be in their general spots and the posing will (hopefully) look familiar enough to them. Idk, just a thought since they seemed like this one was a lot more difficult lol

I hope they do the Quiz again (even as they hated it); that was a load of fun! I got... Adult Link (Breath of the Wild, Hero Suit, Fierce Deity, and Dark Link) Jigglypuff (Pink, Eyes, and on alts, Hairbow and Flower and Hats) Pac-Man (Yellow, Shoes, Occasional Gloves. GGEZ) Mario (Default, Waluigi, Old Fireflower, Construction, Wedding) R.O.B (Default, Japanese, Camo) Ridley (barely. Meta Ridley colors kinda helped save it) Yoshi (STUPID FUCKING YARN COLOR. GIMME BACK MY BLACK AND WHITE YOSHIS) Corrin (gender-bent main 2, Orange Sherbert Gurl, Strawberry Cotton Candy Gorl, Dark Chocolate Gyrl) Mr Game & Watch (Only 2 colors...) I guessed Lucario on King Dedede’s round bc he’s mostly blue, has an all-grey alt, has a green skin alt, and red eyes to match the blue, yellow, and red box. Also a darker version of his original colors on his last alt.

Not gonna lie Marss feels and sounds like he doesn’t want to be there and it sort of brings the video down. Esam and Wadi at least tries and provide their thought process on what they are thinking when guessing their characters, Marss is just either giving up or accidentally mashing fast to the point he reveals the answer before even guessing.
