Tears are streaming down my face hearing Dr. Farley lay out the Goodness, Faithfulness, Grace, and Mercy of God through Jesus so succinctly. What a beautiful reminder! Thank you for this Q&A!

🕊️Requirements in order to reach salvation directly by Jesus ⬇️ 🕊️“Wake up! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God.”Revelation 3:2 📖Luke’s Gospel⬇️ 🕊️“But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 🕊️“No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.” Luke 13:5 📖John’s Gospel⬇️ 🕊️“Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.” John 3:5-7 🕊️“So Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you. But anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise that person at the last day.” John 6:53-54 🕊️“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 📖Matthew’s Gospel⬇️ 🕊️“But I warn you-unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!” Matthew 5:20 🕊️“But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.” Matthew 5:22 🕊️“But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:15 🕊️“So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire.” Matthew 7:19 🕊️“But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”Matthew 10:33 🕊️“If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.” Matthew 10:37-39 🕊️“So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven-except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven.” Matthew 12:31 🕊️“The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” Matthew 12:37 🕊️“Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the world. And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:40-42 🕊️“Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3 🕊️“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 19:23 Jesus made it perfectly clear to all who would accept his words⬇️ 🕊️”Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’ Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:34-46 After reviewing Jesus’ own words, are you truly his disciple❓ 🕊️“Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples,” John 8:31 Jesus also made it perfectly clear for those who would disagree with his words⬇️ 🕊️“But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.” Matthew 22:29 🚨My question to these lukewarm Christians is simple, was Jesus lying⁉️ 🕊️”Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from the Evil One.” Matthew 5:37

The same chapter, Hebrews 10, that says “For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified,” also says “Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering,” and “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.” This shows that it’s possible for someone who once enjoyed a relationship with Christ to not maintain a confession of faith in Him or one who persists in a lifestyle of sin the result of which is a terrifying expectation of judgment and fire. Let’s not take one verse out of Hebrews 10 at the exclusion of the others.

Many of Dr. Farley’s comments are extremely simplistic and one sided. I will respond to only 2 points: 1) he attempts to reconcile James and Paul on faith and works. In Farley’s view works are valid because the Gospel requires a response. I would suggest that much more is implied by the connection of faith and works. James is dealing essentially with the issue of antinomianism; that faith is void of works. Instead of separating faith and works James says that biblical faith actually works; that it by its essential nature works in an active way. I once heard a Baptist minister state that it is faith plus nothing that saves. The implication of his statement is that there is no necessary connection between faith and works. Biblically, however, there is an absolute connection as faith will always express itself in works. Works are the essential evidence of faith. Paul speaks of being saved only by faith, not of works. Paul is essentially speaking of a different context in which works are based solely in one’s self which are not an expression or work of faith. The source of the works is the essential issue. If not based in faith, works can never save. However, while our works do not save us, if there are no works then we do not have saving faith. 2) Farley somewhat dismisses any Arminian perspective that it is possible to lose one’s salvation. He certainly takes the high intellectual ground in his justification for his conclusion that a believer can’t lose their salvation. I will not go into length here but Farley doesn’t even look at a single passage which may suggest that salvation can be lost or forfeited. It would seem that to be consistent if one can freely choose salvation they can also freely reject it. At least the hyper Calvinist is consistent as all are chosen and therefore don’t really have freedom to either choose or reject salvation. I think Sean you shouldn’t just bring onto your show a self proclaimed expert who pushes only one view and who doesn’t fairly present alternative biblical perspectives. What you have done Sean is to present in a rather smug way what a truly biblical perspective is. I didn’t agree with much of what Farley was saying. Disappointing, I think.

Although I like Dr. Farley and think he would answer more thoroughly with more time, but his baptism answer was not sufficient. Paul “not baptizing” is not the same as baptism not required. Saying “I did not come to baptize” does not nullify baptism. I agree with him theologically but I think it’s a bad argument.

I think with the 3rd question of once saved always saved you have not adequately addressed the very real and increasingly frequent issue of people ceasing to believe in God and Christ and of ceasing to trust in any saving work of Christ upon the cross and in his resurrection from the dead. I think you have been very selective in the references you chose to support your case. You did not deal with the prophecy of Jesus that the love of many would grow cold, with the repeated clear warnings in the letter to the Hebrews, or with Paul's own heartbreaking experience of former colleagues abandoning the faith.

I Do Not think You Even Watched this Video because the 3rd Point OSAS was Covered the Best in this Video of ALL the Points Covered. None of the Bible Verses You are Using Says You can Lose Your Salvation. The Bible Does Not Teach You can Lose Your Salvation. You are Trying to Work Your Way to Heaven. Here Let me Help You Out: Salvation is Eternal Life this is what the Bible teaches. Eternal Never Ends. You cannot Lose Something You Did Not Work for in the First Place. Salvation is 100% Jesus. Sadly there are Millions and Millions of Lost people claiming to be Saved, to be Christians who spread False Doctrines. One of the popular False Doctrines they spread is that Jesus does not Eternally Save. They mock Christians that Believe the Bible that Believe Jesus when he says that he Gives Eternal Life. OSAS = Once Saved Always Saved. These Lost people are actively spreading Lies and pushing people into Hell. Read and study the Bible so you will not be deceived into believing False Doctrines, False Gospel's. A person who thinks they can lose their Salvation is not Saved because they are working their way to Heaven. Salvation is 100% Jesus 0% human effort. You did nothing to get Saved, and to say you have to do something to stay Saved is not Biblical. ETERNAL Means never Ending. Jesus Saves Eternally. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” John 17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Matthew 25:46 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” No the Bible does not teach that a person can lose their Salvation. You are trying to Work your way to Heaven. Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Hebrews 6 does not teach a Saved person can lose their Salvation. It is saying what many other Scriptures says that Jesus died once for all of the Sins of the World, that it is impossible for Jesus to die again for the Sins of the World. Jesus already paid for all the Sins of the World. Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” 1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” A person who thinks they can lose their Salvation is not Saved because they are working their way to Heaven. Salvation is 100% Jesus 0% human effort. You did nothing to get Saved, and to say you have to do something to stay Saved is not Biblical. ETERNAL Means never Ending. Jesus Saves Eternally. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” John 17:3 “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Matthew 25:46 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

With respect to whether you can lose your salvation, the question comes down to: can a person ONCE believe with saving faith and THEN AT SOME POINT LATER not believe...? Because if that is possible, then you are faced with: is a person still saved even if they no longer are putting faith in Christ? Are they saved even if they reject and renounce him, and are self proclaimed atheists or now worship a different god? A muslim, for example, could renounce Islam and become a christian. Is it possible a christian could do the same? And is he still saved even if he now worships someone other than Yahweh? If someone does not address those questions, I don't see how they are really engaging the question in a way that would resolve anything.

Dr Farley assumes that by mere definition "eternal" salvation can never be taken away or given up. If salvation can be forfeited according to his reasoning, salvation cannot be eternal. This is fallacious reasoning. To defend his position Farley would need to demonstrate that if salvation is conditional in any sense this would necessarily mean that salvation cannot be eternal. While Farley states this to be the case he hasn't reasonably defended this claim. To the contrary of Farley's claim, Arminians who believe that salvation is conditional would argue that while salvation is eternal, it only remains so if the underlying conditions of obedience and faithfulness to Christ as an essential expression of the believer's faith are maintained through Christ living in them. This type of works, of course, which are rooted and grounded in faith, are very different from works which spring from ourselves and which do not spring from the fruit of Christ working from within believers. To have conditions applied by God on receiving eternal salvation doesn't mean that this gift is not eternal. It is just the case that to receive eternal life it must not be forfeited. To renew a believer's faith would re-establish their relationship with God and they would also have God's gift of eternal life given back to them. A Baptist minister tried to get around my argument by stating that if this is the case that salvation can be forfeited, then how many sins would a backsliding Christian have to commit before they lost their salvation? This reply is quite irrelevant. It is not a matter of how many specific sins that a person commits but rather of their attitude and heart towards Christ that is the essential issue. While a specific point of when salvation is lost may be difficult to define, it is clearly at the point where one makes a conscious decision to reject Christ and to decide not to follow him. Each person will know in their heart when they have reached this point of rejecting Christ. They will no longer receive the Spirit's witness that they are children of God. They will no longer seek God, pray to him or follows his guidance. If Farley assumes that any condition applied to salvation necessarily means that salvation as an eternal gift is based on works and cannot be eternal then he is not really consistent within his own system of thought. If the initial act of salvation requires our response, as an act of obedience, faith and repentance, this would necessarily by Farley's definition of eternal life mean that eternal life is temporal, conditional on our obedient response to the Gospel's call. Farley may try to argue against this point by suggesting that to repent and to receive Christ are merely expressions of faith which require a "response". I also argue that works and faith are interconnected biblically speaking and that works pleasing to God are the evidence of faith. Faith, however, must continue, for if faith does not continue within us, we will not continue to have a relationship with God. If Farley was consistent with his own underlying assumptions he would not even see the initial act of salvation as our response to God, as being in any sense our work. Hyper Calvinists, although I don't agree with their interpretations and assumptions, are at least more consistent than Farley. In hyper Calvinism, both the initial act of repentance and belief and the perseverance of the saints are predetermined by God. As no act of initial christian conversion or continuing acts of faith by believers stem from their own works but from God's eternal decrees, only hyper Calvinism can consistently argue that salvation is eternal and can never be forfeited. If there is any real sense of freedom to our choices, then logically salvation can be forfeited. Still the gift of eternal salvation remains if we meet the conditions of this gift.

From scripture, Dr. Andrew appears to be very wrong about the salvation piece. God has him wrestling this question about “Can you lose your salvation” over the last few months. I think the question is actually can someone think they are saved, but never did all the steps to be saved? And by the steps, it’s not just accepting Jesus, but it’s also repenting and turning away from your sin. There are so many pastors for example, who are saying it’s OK to marry the same sex. These are supposedly Christians, but this is against God and they are repenting and turning away. Is true for someone who constantly fits of rage and lash out, but the rest of they are Christian. And there’s so many other examples. Because if you truly are led by the Spirit of God then you would allow Him to transform you slowly each day. This does not mean perfection as we will not be perfected and fully sanctified until the return of Jesus. But if there is no progress and you are stuck in the same cycle over and over and over then you are not repenting. Here are scriptures to back this up. ”“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’“ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Also, the story of the 10 virgins found in Matthew 25. These 10 virgins represent 10 Christians but only had enough oil and made it to the banquet when the rest were left behind. That is in intimacy with Jesus. I don’t think I was truly saved because I did not truly know Jesus until 2022 and I know how to walk with him every single day. But prior to that nearly 30 years before I was stuck in a cycle of depression, anger, criticalness, judgment, etc. I wasn’t repenting and stopping my behavior.

I do not share the same opinion as Mr. Farley, he is saying that basically baptism is not required, but if we follow Jesus words, He has told us in John 3:5 that we have to be *born of water* and spirit to enter the Kingdom of God, so when Mr. Farley is saying that "water has never saved anybody" 1:58 it's the opposite of what Jesus told us in John 3:5, remember the Bible also told us to not trust someone else beliefs, but to be careful to not be deceived by any false doctrine, i will trust Jesus Words. *John 3:5* 5 *Jesus answered,* “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Baptism is necessary after calling on the name of the Lord, after repentance and so on. These letters were written to believers who had been baptized. Paul said he wasn't sent to baptized, but he didn't say when people are saved they weren't baptized. He rather alludes else where that baptism was necessary and important. Romans 6:1-4

baptism is essential for salvation. Dr. Farley says no, but God's word says yes (Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21; Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 5:26; etc.). If the thief is our example of salvation, then we do not need the resurrection of Christ bc the thief was saved before that too! The thief was made a promise in a face-to-face conversation with Christ, which none of us can imitate. If we are looking to the thief as our example of salvation, we are looking towards the wrong cross. Baptism is an act of faith (Colossians 2:12). Denying baptisms place in salvation is denying salvation by faith. There is only one way "into" Christ according to the Bible (Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27). Denying baptism is essential to salvation is denying access to the location where His blood is (Ephesians 1:7; 2:13)!

The real question is: why did Jesus get baptized? If Paul was right it would be to cleanse his sins, but if Jesus was right it may have been either to set an example, or just because he didn’t actually claim to be a sinless son of god.

The bible reads he was baptised in order to 'fulfill all righteousness'. He lived and fulfilled all righteousness so that we could be justified by faith - believing that his righteousness allowed him to be punished for our sins, as he had none of own to be condemned for. He fulfilled all righteousness, so that we wouldn't have to. Being water baptised is a righteous work, as evidenced by Jesus' need to fulfill it on behalf of those who do not get water baptised but have faith, such as the thief on the cross beside him.

It's basically a faith vs works argument. We follow Christ and His teachings because we love Him you can go days without smoking drinking having promiscuous sex and feel justified and proud because you've not done things God deemed evil but you aren't justified to God by doing those things rather you have trust in Him and love for His grace and what He did for you on the Cross dieing for yours evils against God which was the death you were supposed to suffer for your sins. He was innocent and suffered an evil death but rose on the third day defeating sin death and Satan. It's a gift of love we all have to accept and cherish and it's going to be a endless war against our sin within our nature don't get discouraged always think about and rely what He did for you on the Cross.

The answers to questions are great! I only disagree about 1 thing. Acts 2:38 is referring to the baptism of the Holy Spirit and not water baptism. Having said that, one do not need to be baptized in either water or the Holy Spirit in order to be saved. Baptism of water is an outward declaration of our faith and baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the receiving of the gifts of the Spirit such as speaking in tongues.

Farley’s answer of not running to our favorite pet verse to build a doctrine while ignoring others that say differently is interesting to me because he seems to ignore several other, much more explanatory passages about baptism and its role in the believers salvation (Acts 19, 1 Peter 3, Col 2, Gal 3, Rom 6, etc) and of course Jesus’ own command to baptize believers in his name should make us at least understand it is not optional and not simply a “birthday party”. Furthermore, every NT example of a believer coming to Christ, is baptized immediately after. Baptismal water is not magic and does not provide salvation anymore than taking a bath does. It is an act done in faith where we undergo a spiritual birth and that is the mechanism God provided for us. Salvation always belongs to the Lord and baptism is the commanded path where we connect with Christ’s blood, death, and resurrection. If it were of no value, why do we not have one NT author denouncing it of no value like circumcision, food choices, and certain festivals. I’m willing to believe I may be wrong about my position on this topic and pray that God is gracious to those who’ve not experienced baptism in Christ and will still save them, like the thief on the cross. Ultimately, God is just and will do what is right.
@michaelthompson9159

Re baptism question - The thief on the cross example doesn’t hold water. (Pun intended!) Christ had not yet died and risen again. So what was the thief to be baptized for or into? (See Colossians 2:12). He makes no mention of Christ during his ascension commanding the apostles to “Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them... “(Matthew 28). It’s not either/or. It’s both/and. Jesus commanded it. Are we not called to follow Jesus’ commands? Paul was addressing a unique situation with the Corinthians when he spoke of not being there to baptize. He was pointing out it’s not ONLY about baptism because apparently that’s what the Corinthians were focusing on. Paul was reminding them that the focus of the gospel is the cross. But he never said baptism wasn’t necessary. That’s reading something into it that’s not there. Every example of salvation written about in Acts of the Apostles involves water immersion. Even after Cornelius received Holy Spirit he was still baptized. He wasn’t told it’s not necessary. This is reinforced in other letters of the NT.

I've always believed in once saved always saved, but I'd like if Dr. Andrew could go through some of the scriptures that seem to indicate you can lose your salvation and how to best navigate through those passages. The problem is, once saved always saved gets a bad reputation, as it seems to some people that it's an excuse to sin because you're saved no matter how you live your life. But let me tell you something, that's human reasoning. Just because someone can take advantage of something doesn't mean it's not true. You really think God would forbid something just because we could take advantage of it and take it for granted? It's not okay to take advantage of it, but that doesn't make it false. Remember, the Bible says each will be judged according to what they have done, and so if someone is truly saved but struggles with sin a lot, there will be a lack of treasure waiting for them for in heaven. It just is what it is. That's the consequence for a lack of obedience. That's the reality of what is rewarded and what is not.

To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. You can Take Verses out of Content and Twist them. When it comes to Dealing with Bible Twisters You show them the Truth of the Bible and if they Do Not Accept it You walk away. Don't let the ahistorical and novel interpretations of a group of people that are only a few hundred years old mislead you. These were not even widely held views during the Reformation, let alone among the earliest Christians. To tell people that they don't need to be baptized, obey Christ's commandments (works), and that they are once saved, always saved despite how they live their life is insane. It is possibly damaging to their souls and their eternal destination. These teachers will have to give an account to the Lord one day for the abberant things they have taught and the false assurances they have given to others.

As for baptism, you are right and a great answer but the you're not quoting the verses that people like the Catholics use to teach baptism is necessary for salvation eg: 1 Pet 3:21 And also, corresponding to this, baptism now saves you, not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, This is the thing with a lot of these videos aimed at strengthening the faith and knowledge of the flock. They sound awesome until you meet a Catholic or a 7th day Adventist and so on. Then you get floored. Not knocking you guys, I think you are cool and I know how to explain the above verse. But the flock need more solid defenses against error. I suggest, when making these videos, first listen to some debates between Catholics and protestants and Mormons and so on. Then you know what arrows are being fired. Teach people how to respond to those and then they will be truly on the solid rock.

Jude 1:24 "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time[h] and now and forever. Amen." We are guarded by God from stumbling. He is able to present us blameless before the presence of his glory. 😊😊😊👆

@Dropaprayer Well, brother, I'm aloud to shake my head left and right, up and down. If I wanted. But to answer your question because I do not agree with the teaching of OSAS. Yes you do have eternal security as long you abide in Christ. Amen. But the teaching of Being saved and once ur saved that's it gives people the impression that one can backslide and still be saved which is not true. If a believer after serving the Lord faithfully for years decides to back slide for whatever reason and begins to live a sinful life becomes a drunkard, or adulterer, or commits a criminal act and in the process happens to die, you mean to tell me he is still saved? Absolutely not. Jesus talked about falling away. You can read Matt 5:13, Matt 11:6, Matt 24:12-13, Luke 8:13, John 15:6. Etc. God bless you.

You assert that baptism is not necessary for salvation. Why then would Jesus command that His disciples teach and baptize ALL nations? Why did Jesus tell Nicodemus that a man MUST be born of water and of the spirit? If baptism is not necessary, then why does Mark 16:16 read "He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved?" The word AND denotes that both subjects must be done, not just one or the other. The common rebuttal to that is the last half of the verse ..."but he that believeth not is damned." I would submit that if one does not even believe, then they have no use for baptism. One of the purposes of baptism is stated in Acts 2:38 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Who among us does not need a remission of their sins? Another set of verses that give weight to baptism being necessary comes from Romans 6:3-5: 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: The entire chapter is centered around how our baptismal covenant with God brings us into newness of life, having forsaken our sins to work His righteousness. This, notwithstanding a total of 13 New Testament verses that testify that baptism is a saving ordinance. God did not send Paul to baptize, rather to preach the word. There were many others who had authority to baptize, so it was not expedient that Paul should perform the ordinance. The scriptures do not tell us that he could not baptize (as he did baptize a couple of people), but he was not called for that duty. Our faith is justified by our works. In the example of Abraham being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, God considered Abraham righteous because he was willing to do what God had asked him to do because he had faith that he was doing the will of God. If Abraham had said he had faith and then balked at God upon the request of the sacrificing of Isaac, would he have been considered righteous? The work was necessary to justify the faith. Speaking of "once saved, always saved," you expound on Hebrews chapter 10. Did you read all of it? The last several verses seem to characterize the state of those who do not remain faithful; verses 26-29: 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? These verses would indicate that it is possible for a faithful person to slip into perdition and out of the grace of God.

Brother, I appreciate hearing from you. Yeah, lots of views on it. And rest assured it isn’t me who claims to be judge of others. I do, however, take what Jesus said seriously and I do defer to Him. Try re-reading Matthew. Your assessment related to eternal destiny simply isn’t accurate, the part about not hearing if things until revelation. That simply isn’t true. Most of what we know about Hell we know from Jesus Himself. And most of that is in Matthew (and scattered throughout it). Again, I ain’t your judge. But if you do feel compelled to walk away, walk away informed. The essentials are: 1) Does God (YHWH) exist ? 2) Did Jesus actually rise from the dead. If 2 is true, and if you take any stock that Matthew records what He said with any measure of reliability, even if you don’t think Scripture is inspired)… Then you need to be informed and read Matthew completely and key into his warnings and examples… some of which followed the much-beloved Sermon on the Mount immediately and much throughout. If you don’t want to believe it that’s your business not mine.. but I’d suggest being informed because it simply isn’t true that not much is said about it until Revelation. Shalom. Wishing you a good life journey, brother!

@@mkl2237 To clarify what I meant: Jesus never refers to Hell specifically. He speaks of the fires of Gehenna, which was a real place where people were burned for heresy. It still exists, look it up. Similarly, Jesus does not speak of Heaven, but the Kingdom of God, the new Israel. The Messiah was understood as the rightful ruler who would overthrow the Romans and establish such a kingdom. Jesus was what we now call an apocalyptic preacher. His message was repentance in anticipation of God’s imminent justice. Many Jews at the time also believed in a resurrection to ensure that everyone would be included in this final judgement. See Mark 9:1 for Jesus’s own prediction of the end times. Sound familiar?

Excellent 👍 💪🎯 An Important Note: When Explaining Acts 2:38 it is Essential to Explain Repent, (Yes Repent Comma. Repent is separated from the rest of the Verse.) which is always a Change of mind. God Repents in the Bible More then Anyone. God Does Not Sin. Repent of Sin is Not in the Bible. Every time God Repents he changes his mind. Also Acts 2:38's Baptism is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is NOT A Water Baptism. I don't think Acts 2:38 can be properly explained without talking about: The Ethiopian Eunuch. Acts 8:35-37 [35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. [36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? [37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Salvation of the Ethiopian Eunuch Clearly happens when he Believes on Jesus. He was Saved by Believing in Jesus, by Believing the Gospel Only (Isaiah Chapter 53) After this then he was Baptized in Water. Repent of Sin is Not in the Bible and Repent is Not even mentioned when the Ethiopian Eunuch was Saved. These Points Need to be explained because Acts 2:38 is Always used to Teach the False Doctrine Repent of Sin and the Ethiopian Eunuch was Only Water Baptized AFTER he had Believed on Jesus Only to Save him.

Practically EVERYONE believes that we are saved by grace through faith. The question is, can a person once believe with saving faith, and then at some point later, no longer believe? People go back and forth on what they believe about a number of things. A muslim could through evangelism stop believing Islam and convert to christianity. Could it go the other way? We see christians stop believing and convert to atheism or some other religion quite often. Even people who have been to seminary and served for decades in ministry. They begin to lend an ear to the arguments of atheist and their faith is shaken. Nowhere does someone say they stopped working, they stopped believing the Bible, that Jesus is the son of God. Our beliefs are based on information, and when someone begins to entertain arguments by atheist or other religions, that has the potential to impact what a person believes. Our faith is not blind, although atheist try to portray it that way, it is based on evidence and information. And Yes, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 [38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. You obviously can't read. Just look at the Verse: Repent, A coma is a separation of actions!!!! Repent means to change your mind. FYI Repent of Sin is Not in the Bible it is Works. This Baptism is Not a Water Baptism. Water is Not mentioned. FYI there are 7 different Types of Baptism in the Bible. When the Ethiopian Eunuch was Saved from Isaiah chapter 53, the Gospel, he said to Philip: Acts 8:36-37 [36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? When Water Baptism is the Baptism illustrated, that happens, is talked about, Water is always mentioned. There is No Water in Acts 2:38. The Ethiopian was Saved by Believing on Jesus Only without Repenting of Sin, without Water Baptism. He was Baptized AFTER he had been Saved, by Believing the Gospel, Believing in Jesus Only for his Salvation.

Mr. Farley and Mr. McDowell I applaud your love for Jesus and strive for truth but the fact is baptism does save us. This was the universal teaching of the early church and was the view on baptism until Calvin and Zwingli came along 1500 years later and taught otherwise. Even Martin Luther believed baptism saves. After all “repent AND BE BAPTIZED for the forgiveness of sins”

If someone leaves Christianity...GOD does not FORCE anyone to be saved. Saying OSAS is not appropriate. Apostasy is mentioned in the Scriptures. People can reject Salvation after walking in it. By saying people can't walk away from relationship with GOD is to say GOD will go against your will to save you... this cannot be. Jesus stands at the door and knocks...

15 seconds in and you claim “the thief on the cross didn’t have time to be splashed in water.” 6+ hours on the cross wasn’t enough time to be “splashed in water”? Do we have biblical proof that he wasn’t baptized at some point prior to being crucified? It doesn’t engender confidence when the first thing out of someone’s mouth is an addition to the biblical text in order to create a prooftext for their doctrine.
@shanezarcone5401
@shanezarcone5401 21 день назад
The clear reading of the text suggests that the thief was not baptized. You're making leaps of logic to assume that he was, and then acting as though the silence on the matter works in your favor, and not against it. Imagine the scenario in which the thief was baptized, he would have to make his declaration of faith, and then the roman executioners would have had to allow someone present to go fetch water and essentially chuck it up at the thief, and that this would have been his baptism. And yet nowhere in any Biblical account do we have a passage that so much as hints at any such event taking place. Do you see how ridiculous that is when you lay it out? And that's ignoring the fact that baptism as described in the Bible is never depicted by means of sprinkling or pouring, let alone literally throwing water at someone. It is you who is adding to the text by suggesting that we should have any expectation at all that the thief was baptized.

I’m not making any “leaps of logic”. I’m asking a simple question. Do we have biblical proof that the thief was never baptized? Do we know if he was baptized on the cross? No we don’t. Do we know if he had a prior relationship with Jesus before going to the cross? No we don’t. This man just made a claim that he didn’t have time to be baptized and therefore he is an example that proves his doctrine. And you’re supporting that… He is a bad example to use because we simply don’t have enough information to determine one way or another. It’s very concerning that this man is willing to add his opinion to scripture, then use his added opinion to support a doctrine. And it’s concerning that you are uncritically supporting that. The only biblically honest thing to do here is either provide a single verse that proves the thief was not baptized or delete your comment.

@@nickswicegood4316 How do you not see how nonsensical your argument is? Let me show you. Peter dressed up as a clown and went to children's birthday parties. What? You're saying we don't have any Biblical evidence whatsoever to back up that claim? Well then, show me one verse that says that Peter did not dress up as a clown and go to childrens birthday parties. If you can't do that, the only honest thing to do is delete your comment. You see how I can use the exact same logic you're using and just dial up the example to be more ridiculous? All the information that we do have suggests that the thief was not baptized. We have zero evidence that he ever met Jesus beforehand, which is backed up by the fact that both Matthew and Mark record both thieves mocking Him. "In the same way even the criminals who were crucified with him taunted him. " Matthew 27:44, CSB "Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe.” Even those who were crucified with him taunted him. " Mark 15:32, CSB Neither Matthew or Mark record the thief repenting, but both say that both thieves taunted Jesus. Harmonizing this with Luke, we can see that the thief first taunted Jesus, and then repented and asked Him to remember him. This being the case, should we conclude that the thief both knew Jesus beforehand and was in fact baptized, and then later mocked Jesus as He was crucified? I think that position obviously does not fit within the confines of the Scriptures. Far more likely is that the thief had never known Jesus, and never repented, until he was already crucified alongside Jesus, and could therefor could not have been baptized. So it is you who is trying to read things into the text to support your doctrine, not the other way around. The thief was not baptized, and still he went to be with Jesus upon his death. Notice also since I assume you're Catholic, that Jesus told him that the thief would be with Him in paradise that very same day, no time for the thief to go through purgatorial fire.
@nickswicegood4316
@nickswicegood4316 20 дней назад
It’s also very important to utilize your reading comprehension skills prior to criticizing someone’s argument. For example, you said, “You're making leaps of logic to assume that he was, and then acting as though the silence on the matter works in your favor, and not against it.“ Look again at my comment. Find the sentence where I “assumed he was” (baptized). When you realize I didn’t make that statement OR assumption, it makes your statement nonsensical, and what you wrote a few sentences later even more bizarre. You wrote, “It is you who is adding to the text by suggesting that we should have any expectation at all that the thief was baptized.” What exactly did I “add to the text”? My argument is that we don’t have enough information to add anything one way or the other to the text. That’s why we shouldn’t use the thief on the cross to try to prooftext either position. I personally have no idea if he was baptized because the Bible doesn’t tell us. I’m comfortable with not knowing. I’m UNcomfortable with people adding information to the Bible and then using those additions to prop up their doctrines. Just make sure you’re responding to a persons actual comment and not your own straw man version of their comment next time.

Why is the thief on the cross always referenced? The thief lived and died under the Old Law. Jesus had not yet established the New Covenant. In the book of Acts, the history of the newly established church, EVERY act of conversion includes baptism. In Acts 2:38 it clearly was taught to be baptized for remission of sins. In Galatians we are taught that baptism also saves us. It is a willingness to die to sin and be resurrected in newness of life. To be IN Christ. Why is baptism such a stumbling block to so many? Paul himself was commanded by Jesus to be baptized. Jesus went to the cross for us. All he asks is a baptism representing the desire to be dead to sin but alive in Christ. I'm reminded of the story of Namman in the Old Testament. He too balked at dipping 7 times in the river Jordan to be cured of his leprosy. It's a humble thing baptism. A commandment that places us in God's family and Jesus's blood covers us. I'm very disappointed that yet again another voice was given a platform to speak untruth.

The Law was given to Show all Mankind that no one could keep the Law. The Law showed us that we were Sinners in need of a Savior. Believers in the Old Testament were not Saved by being obedient to the law of God. The Bible clearly teaches this: Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Old Testament Believers were Not Saved by animal sacrifices: Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. The Bible Does NOT Teach Multiple Plans of Salvation!!!! The Gospel is the Only Plan of Salvation in the Bible. The Old Testament Promised a Savior the Messiah that would Save the World from their Sins, the Messiah that the Jews looked for. King Herod Knew this, it was common knowledge. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. Jesus was Crucified BECAUSE HE SAID HE WAS THE PROMISED MESSIAH!!!! John 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. Jesus Declared many times that he was the Promised Messiah. Jesus Disciples followed him because he was the Messiah. Read Isaiah Chapter 53 which is the Gospel. The Gospel is in the Old Testament. John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. Jesus Preached the Gospel: Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. Luke 24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. There is Only One True Gospel, Way to be Saved in the Entire Bible: Galatians 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Just watched your 5 min video on salvation with 60 views. Your claim of the Bible written only by Jews is incorrect (Luke, Mark, Ruth...). Your dispensational theology of the method of salvation is heavily flawed. Galatians, James, Romans says Abraham was saved by faith, not works. Your interpretation of the rich young ruler is flawed. He tried to make his own case for righteousness to Christ and Christ tested him on that case. If you're going to make your case on the law, it has to be perfect. That's the point. I'd be careful about the critiques you throw at others when your own interpretations are questionable at best.
