This video completely validates me. While working a 40hr week job, I purchased an inspection training program a year ago. Decided I needed some entry level experience and did insurance inspection part time for 6 months. I didn't have to, but I also decided to be an apprentice. Having a sponsor gives me high quality and real time feedback. I've completed the Texas requirements and am now preparing to take the NHIE. Everyone's path is unique. Trust the process. Chip away.

are you paying your sponsor for the apprenticeship ? just curious cause that's the only option in my area.

@@davec6016 no. I get paid to help do inspections. And the company pays my insurance.

I can't see how it's possible to become a home inspector with limited hours. It's so extremely tough already to get established without adding this into the mix. If you're not available 24/7 the realtor or client will just call someone else. The only way to ease into the business working other employment is to have a job with flexible hours or one that's working strange hours like graveyard shifts.
