I'm 50 and weigh 300 lbs. I've been sleeping in a hammock for 5 years now and I love it. I will never go back to sleeping on a flat bed. My hammock helps with my back; it helps with acid reflux, and I don't snore any more. I have a double hammock. I didn't buy a stand. My room is 15 feet across and I hung hooks on the walls near the ceiling. The long ropes on either end make it so that hammock swings freely. It is very soothing and helps me get to sleep. I wash my hammock at least once a week so there is no chance of dust mites, bed bugs, or any other thing getting in my bed. I also have two hammocks with mosquito netting built in that my daughter and I use for camping. I'm glad you like yours!!
I’m from Brazil and my Dad loves to sleep on a hammock. He has different ones. One of them is like a net, very like and compact. He takes it with him everywhere and often uses it to take a nap after lunch. I’ve always loved hammocks and recently used mine a lot because I was pregnant and with terrible pain in my ribs, the hammock was so comfortable. And now with the baby it is great to breastfeed, take a nap and play with him. I wouldn’t substitute my bed but it’s interesting to see someone making this choice, specially outside Brazil. So I do this now, and I'm currently using the same stand, it's super great and you have set it up to put up and take down evey day, but what's even nicer are wall mounts , they let your hammock spread out and if wanna get rid of it for the time just unhook it from one and hang it from the other and you have your whole space to use
I've definitely considered this switch before, but I am a dedicated tummy sleeper with enough back problems as it is. I'm so glad this is working out for you! And I hear you on not wanting to bring your cats into a van. My two cats are the reason I'm holding off for now, too.
I have slept on my tummy succesfully in a hammock (but not the whole night because I turn around a lot). I think it's the matter of how thin the fabric is, mine is parachute nylon.
I was trying to make this happen a few years ago but couldn't find an affordable stand and good quality natural fiber hammock. This looks super comfy! And I was trying to go mobile full time but it hasn't happened and is on the long term back burner. Your apartment looks to be right on the water. So cool!
Really, a stand cost vs a bed cost ? I have a 3” x3” wood arch stand 12’ long $300.00. My hammocks range from $30 to $200 for my camp hammock with bug net.
Waiting on the post to arrive with our 3 hammocks with stands (50 each on temu) because there was a scorpion on mine and my son's beds and now I am traumatized. I've been wanting to do this for a few years but was holding off. I'm glad we're doing it now. Love your video!!!
In 1987 I was in a severe car accident where my car flipped a few times so I've been going to the chiropractor. I was having severe back pain in 2015-2016 and so I got rid of my bed and replaced it with a hammock for a year and to this day I have never been back to the chiropractor!!! Now this year I'm thinking about going back to a hammock, because I I toss and turn and I can't sleep through the night on a mattress, the because there are no pressure points in a hammock I can sleep all through the night.
I've been sleeping in a hammock for several years now. Recently I got a mattress because my hammock stand needed repairs. It sucked. Like back pain, mid-day tiredness, and sweating in a hot mess. Hammock is the way to go.
I have a double hammock I've been sleeping in for a couple months, and I love it. Bugs don't have a chance to infest it since I can just throw it in the washer and dryer (can't do that with a mattress!). The stand takes up a bit of room, but it's adjustable to different heights. I don't think I'll ever go back to a traditional bed.
i used to sleep in a hammock when i was in my 20s. Found a girl, moved in together and she hates hammocks so that was not happening... been missing hammocks ever since. Now? we broke up, im getting a hammock as my primary sleeping arrangement. (We just grew aparts, still friends) And you "can" sleep in a hammock on your stomach... but few finds it comfortable... i found it okay, but side or back was the best! I am so glad i kept my hammock stand xD
I’ve done it in the same set up except I double the hammock (I have an older one) and put a camping foam mat in between. It’s been a week and I’ve had the best sleep in years. Not going back to my bed.
I do anthropological research in Yucatan and native Mayas sleep in hammocks most of the time. Ignorant people told me " you can't sleep in that! You're body won't get used to it"...not true. I have managed to,sleep in hammocks for months and believe me, when there's barely air conditioning, a hammock will get you fresh
For me, after all the workouts I did I would like to sleep in the cloud thinking nothing more but to relax. Regular bed isn't too good for my posture and so I decided to look into this video.
Oh my god we are thinking alike. I have a beautiful place at the beach but my feelings are in buying a mini van or cargo van and just go be free and happy. I am happy here but knowing that there is more out there to explore and I am stuck in one place can depress me. Thanks for the video

Hi Becky I sleep in a War Bonnet XLC hammock for the last three years my back feels better than it ever has and I sleep quality is excellent I will never go back to regular bed
I just ordered a hammock a few hours ago and watched this video, somehow i bought the same exact hammock you bought, I was excited because I never seen a hammock that supported up to 200kg and it was nice to see a review from someone with my bodytype. you mentioned the weight load phobia and i never realized it but I also have that exact same fear as well and I get very nervous and will just avoid any situations where that happens. I know your on the road now but how did you enjoy the vivere for the time you used it for. Also maybe a weird question i don't know, but how tall are you?
I’m 5’6”. I definitely loved the hammock the whole time I used it - I loved it so much I brought it to Florida with me, gave it to friends, and when I ended up renting a house during the pandemic I now have the hammock with me! That’s how much I loved it. You get yours yet?
@@BeckyMarshallDesign I did and tried sleeping the night in it but I got super dizzy after waking up to t Go to the bathroom and it became impossible to go back to sleep in it. 😭😭😭 I'm going to take it slow and just bring it out when the weather is better and just take naps.
@@DudeBeardGlasses I know that exact feeling. I would say keep doing what you’re doing, but also try sleeping half the night in the hammock and half in your bed. I had to gradually get used to sleeping in mine all night, and that’s exactly what I did. It took me about a couple weeks to fully adjust, especially since I like the feeling of being able to spread out when I’m asleep, which is very tricky in a hammock. I hope this helps you.

I have brown car like u . He loves it , I work night shift so in day time let out in park or state beach park away from cars lot lots barely have cars an most are rvs so there staying all day ( do get a blink collar if u let them out at night lol)
I am SO interested in this idea! Our house is small and I like to dance. I’m thinking my bedroom is wasted dance space with just a big damn bed taking up the whole room. I just have to convince my partner.. 😅
I've been wondering about that same exact hammock actually. How does it hold up? It sounds like you are enjoying it quite a bit and have had the hammock for a while. Do you think that it is sturdy and holds up well? I can't make heads or tails of the amazon reviews so any thoughts would be appreciated! :D
i'm too much of a stomach sleeper to be able to do this. and also, my biggest reason for not downsizing enough to live in a van is that cats. idk how it would work with them.
I literally bought the same hammock two weeks even the same colour, I love it accept for the chemical smell in the hammock material also I paid double for it here in the UK, but I also want to use for my mini van it's a Berlingo and a bit short so thinking of taking the stand and fixing it outside alongside the van under a tarp, anyone got any other ideas?

It’s quite large and heavy. About 3 ft long and 30-40 lbs I’d guess, but it’s in storage. It only takes a couple minutes to break down and set up and has a tote bag. It’s pretty great.
I was thinking about this My mattress sinks they eont even honor warranty (do not buy Sealy!!) Its given me extreme back pain. I wanted to move out of my place so getting a new bed now would not make sense if I have to move it again shortly. The less I gotta move the better. I was actually looking at this same one not long ago. I would nap in a hammock as a child so I have been thinking about getting one for a while . U paid about 3,000 for this useless mattress and barely lasted 2 years. I dont want to invest in another mattress if it wont last. Def think ill do the hammock thing
I learned the hard way investing in a good shoe is a must. I thought anyshoe was fine. But more expensive does not mean better quality. And the way they're making shoes these days, you gotta buy your own insoles anyway 🤦🏻♀️ so def might as well pick a good insole and any shoe you like lol esp since they want us to change it ever 3 or 6 months. 😐
