Especially if you study thiago motta's 2-7-2 tactic the lone striker is made to play just above the midfield line and he still got over 10 goals! Also needs to be considered that in ALL his technical stats he was rated top 10 in serie A which is the second best league in the world if you count the big clubs playing in the league although i'd say la liga has some claim to it but all his tachnical stats being top 10 just cries out great dribbler and his technical ability in other areas is top class. Now he will play as a striker when he plays although i'd guess he'll be played as a false nine to release our wings so Rashford and Garnacho can tear up defences while only dealing with 1 defender,makes it much easier to score

We were looking at zirkzee before Ashworth was even a thing. Ten hag wanted a new striker and our scouts identified some options, we prefered zirkzee or sesko.

I think if he had that kind of vision he'd have created more at Bologna ladt season if you've studied thiago motta's 2-7-2 tactical system then you'd know that he was made to play just above the midfield line and he had either 4 or 6 assists. In my opinion he'd would have to have atleast 10 assist to be a anywhere close to fernandes's vision which is literally the best in the game today.

The 5221 is missing the teams star player which everything revolves aroumd so that's just stupid while the first idea looks much more do-able and effective if the players understand the system.

Correction he can possibly play on the right wing but it's unproven. My comments only come from what i know of his technical ability which every single technicál stat was classed as serie A top 10 and i mean every technical statistic gathered now that says alot about a player with the ball on his feet in otherwords he's technically and most likely fast enough to drive up the right wing but not the left. I personally see him best used as a false nine in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 systems. Then he'd distract the defence by tracking back towards the midfield which can if successfully done open up a channel to a goal with only a goalkeeper in it that you'd need to get past from either the right or left wing. It depends on how the defence reacts to the false 9 but it probably gives results in atleast 80% of games although that of ourse is also determined by the strength of the teams playing. Like the false nine can just be man marked if you're playing against a team that has 3 centre backs but i still guess that then it'd be easier for the wingers to grab goals. Certain tactics simply çancel out the attacking prowess of the opposite team. That for example is one of the reasons the teams are only shown an hour before the game when the team is in the dressing room and the reason coaches have started to give false formations when asked how they will play and just oick 442 for example with the players lumped up somehow then when they ger on thw pitch you can see the real formarion and position of the players. Højluns would need to be played on the right because he can only shoot wifh his left door which is actually good for Garnacho as he's a natural left winger although he can shoot with both legs,rhis could be implemented in a 4231 system or a 433 with zirkzee as a false nine opening up spaces for Garnacho and Højlund but sadly limiting all but long shots and im not sure if zirkzee has the vision or even power in his preferred (left) foot although if i had to bet on it i'd say he'd be able to shoot rhe ball into goal from far away from the box.

@@orhallurv.birgisson8367 we did see Hojlund score well with his right at times last season. And he's scored some bangers from the left side of the box with his left foot too (see Denmark and Atalanta goals for some of those). This is why I personally like the dual threat of him on the left. Being able to switch the front 3 round will give Utd a few different ways of finding weak spots in a defence. I think there's options and it could be good seeing what Hojlund can do from the right inside channel too.
