In this video we're listening to more from The Tragically Hip for our Canadian Content series. Though we didn't get to know them too much while we were growing up, we've been enjoying the music you guys have suggested from this band. We're eager to hear more from them. Enjoy!

Great tune. Being from Buffalo NY, got to see them on both sides of the border several times

I think if you were to watch a live performance, not that their MTV videos wern't well perceived but it was the Hip's live performances that were always remembered.

Given the recent passing of Canadian legend Robbie Robertson, I'd like you to review one of his songs. I'd recommend "Somewhere Down The Crazy River", "Ghost Dance" (album version, not the single version), or "Showdown At Big Sky"

We did a video for him just the other day after learning of his passing. We'll add your suggestions, that we don't already know, to our list. Somewhere Down The Crazy River is a favourite.

Should check out some older live stuff from them. Totally different vibe. Anything from woodstock 99 is good. What was cool was that anyone who had a Canadian flag was aloud to go up front and center.

I remember seeing a cover band of The Tragically Hip called 50 Mission when I went to a music festival this summer and although I had never previously seeked out their music to listen to on my own, It triggered deep memories in my head and I realized I know most of their music. I dont know the lyrics but the feeling of the music and the unique tone of the Gord Downey-style singing were burned into my brain. I had zero expectations going into the concert but I love their music now. Your description of it being melancholy but doesn't feel melancholy is definitely something i feel with a lot of their music. It's simultaneously inspiring and tragic. (sorry for the pun, I had to)

This is a great Hip song. Honestly, if you're Canadian and you don't like the Hip, that's ok, that's alright. I love their songs, but it would be a pretty boring world if everyone loved all the same things.

It's obvious how talented they are. We enjoy hearing their songs. There's just something about the style that doesn't make us keep coming back as often as others have. We're not sure what it is.

Far too Hip and Tragic for me I'm afraid.

They had a small, but fierce following in the UK, a bit of a cult band. Not my thing really though.
