Yeah IT is old but the real reason why Canada is named like this is because in the langage of the native, Kanata was the word for village but Champlain (pretty sure you know Who he is) was thinking IT was the name of the place so he just used IT ans because at that Time, nobody liked the native, so no one learned the native language until Everyone was saying Canada to name the country (and yeah, the kanata was not a typo)
I got a planner that was made in America and I got confused because it said thanksgiving was in November and so I had to ask my mom when thanks giving was 😂
I'm a Canadian with an online American friend, and she said "do all you Canadians work at Canada dry?" she has asked many other things like that question and i laugh every time
I’m Canadian and in history class we learned it was named because when the discoverers tried to communicate to the indigenous people and they pointed to their village and said “Kanata” which meant village but the explores thought they meant it was the name of the land
When he was talking about the boiling maple syrup, you have to try it. It sounds dumb but you pour it in snow, wait 30 seconds and roll it up with a popsicle stick. One of the best things I’ve ever had
As a Canadian and animator myself I literally kid you not I was in the middle of making a video about this😂 it’s so wonderful to see people on the Internet going against the Canadian stereotypes! Thank you so much you’ve earned a subscriber!
@@SafwanAstroGlitchy4 I waved to the Americans when I went, it was amusing to see them huddle on one side and record since in my opinion, the American falls aren't has nice as the Horseshoe Falls
@@literallynobody8792 For me its January: cold February: cold March: cold April: cold May: cold June: hot July: hot August: hot September: cold October: cold November: cold December: cold
Not where I live (Ontario), For some reason the moment it starts getting cold here, everyone throws on a sweater over their t-shirt AND puts on a coat, Passed someone who seen me in a T-shirt and let me know it was "kinda" cold outside and they were wearing a coat and most likely a sweater under the coat since I kinda know them personally, I shrugged and waited for the elevator to take me down. Everyones different.
So, like how I feel about Montana just south of you guys. It's the 4th largest state, but our population is maybe a quarter of the population of New York City.
Yeah I live in the US but I’ve always wanted to go to Canada. It seems so fun. And yeah the population is quite small. Tokyo has a higher population than Canada but it still seems so fun. I’ve always wanted to move there because I hate the heat. And I’ve always heard Canada is cold. And also there’s free health care in Canada.
I’m American, and for some reason I like learning about Canada and I keep asking my father who went there for a work trip about it haha, keep up the great work, man!
Canada’s never lost a war. Fun fact. Edit. Please stop replying. Look it up on google. If I’m wrong I’m wrong. There’s 114 replies. It’s been said. My source is the first thing that popped up.
I stayed in Canada for a few months recently and boy do I miss it. I am obsessed with poutine, but I am also obsessed with the fact that I could get a variety of different foods like Mexican food easily. My part of Germany just doesn’t have many restaurants like that.
I'm Canadian and most stereotypes are true, we actually ride polar bears to Tim Hortons everyday. I actually own 2 Meese and sleep with my beaver named Maple
As a Canadian I can confirm that we do in fact make traffies ALL the time in Canada (especially in Ottawa since there's the canal that pretty much always has a tasty stand In the winter when it's skating season)
🇨🇦Fun Fact🇨🇦 When the Europeans came to Canada to settle here, They asked the First Nations what this places was called. The First Nations thought the Europeans referring to there village. So the First Nations replied with Kanata meaining village.
as a Canadian i CAN say my family loves maple syrup, and my friends love it, and like everyone i know loves it, and also when it’s super cold, we bundle up but eventually when it’s getting warmer in spring or near the end of winter it’s stilll cokd but it’s t-shirt weather because we have been so used to the cold
I started thinking of Gretzky and Lemieux. I can't quite fully describe what a typical Canadian looks like, unless we're talking the average complexion, the average height, and the average weight. Probably a 5'9 Caucasian with short hair
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINALLY DOING THAT! Ugh, I swear to god, my friends always bring up those stereotypes(btw, why is it in France every1 thinks canadian is a language)
Actually it's because in Canada Quebec speak French but it's really different than the French from France a little bit like UK and Canada you know the English a little bit differentl but with Quebec and France it's more than just an accent actually some French from France can’t understand French from Quebec so that why they think we have a different language
Alberta: major export oil. Trudeau: Shut it down! Global warming! Alberta: Largest unemployment of highly qualified journeymen of various fields sending national and international workers back home. Trudeau: Let's give this highly successful Quebec company $3 Million even though they didn't ask for it. Cause I care about small businesses. Hope the next four years goes better.
If its for germany you need to place a hamburger cause hamburger is german UWU,why i do UWU and i am not german but french de baguette and polish of pielogi
sansationalStrider [SS] me too I don't like how people think it snows here all the time and also some people even think we ride polar bears for transportation.
Bella Dew I agree with you. If they think we ride polar bears for transportation they've clearly never been to Canada, to prove to them that the stereotype is false you can show them a picture of downtown Toronto
something I personally think is great about having Tim Hortons here in Canada is that we automatically call them Timbits instead of "doughnut holes" which I kinda think is a weird name.
i saw something that kinda went like this *clears throat* canadian: ok so im hungry where do you wanna go to eat? americain visiting his friend in canada: oh why dont we go to tim hortons i wanna see what all the buz is about canadian: HEY americain: i- canadian: its either tims or timmies, we dont call it that OTHER name
he didnt mention the saying sorry for everything one, but that one is true as well, also whenever i meet a tourist i make sure to say eh as much as possible to mess with their heads
My dad is a heart doctor and he taught this class of American med students and they thought that the old Canadian Tire money was real Canadian currency.
Lmao that a good one really relatable one day one of my friend from US opened a drawer and saw stacks of Canadian tire money and was thinking i was a dealer of some sorte to have so much cash like that
Fellow canadian here its great here. It gots cold for skating, sleding and snowmobiling in the winter and in the summer it great for swimming hikes and what ever you want. We also have some great veiws
@@nahh4542 I know it gets cold, and i like people to think its always cold, so they dont inturrupt my long hot summer. Edit: Im not a boomer even if that sounds kind of like one
My friends once tried to convince a Canadian that Canada wasn't real. They claim that Canada is just an extention of Wyoming, and that if anyone says they're from Canada, they're actually from Australia. I have strange friends.
The algorithm brought this to me 6 years later. I'm happy to say we still have -40 degree winters, but these days summer goes over +40 degrees, and winter doesn't start until December now.
Canada was actually named from when Samuel de Champlain (french explorer) mistook the first nations for saying “kanadaah” which means village for canada and that is how canada was ACTUALLY named (i live in toronto btw)
I'm a Canadian but I live in America and I face many of these stereotypes at school. So I just wanted to tell you thank you for expressing how I feel about those stereotypes!
My best friend is from Canada and they convinced me that there’s a tradition where they fight beavers but it couldn’t be recorded because it was a private event but there were a few videos on the internet so I went googling it and got sad I couldn’t find any so they told me it wasn’t real. at first I was skeptical but they were very convincing
