Thank you Wade so much for all the pointers. I really appreciate you for taking the time to review my work. You have inspired me to work harder on my craft. The Cherry Vanilla is custom made by me.
I like your honesty, it is very hard for us to hear criticism about our products, but it is the only way to improve them. I can see that this kind of video is very time consuming, but please don't stop making it!
At 14:14 you mentioned the mix of scents 'clogging up' your nose. When I worked near a makeup counter at my previous job they kept around a container of coffee beans as a sort of 'palate cleanser' for your nose. Highly recommend if you're smelling several strong scents in a short time!
Thank you Paris~Joy for sending your products to Wade to review! Wade, your feedback and tips were very helpful to me! I really like this series! Thanks again Paris~Joy and Wade! Love from NY ~ Angel W.
You are absolutely correct I’m testing in those status jars and soy 464 Cd- 4 and Eco-4 are double wicked and they are looking great. Thanks for this series I’m so loving your amazing.
Those small jars really are beautiful ! Just a heads up, since you said that you’re interested in where they sell those, I’ve seen them on Februaryfour.com in different colors. They have large ones, too. I’ve never ordered from there yet, so I can’t speak on the service, etc. but they do have those jars.
Could you let us know if there was a rough top after lighting the candles? It wasn’t shown but it would be very helpful to show how it appears after burning. I’m curious to see how common it is in soy waxes. Thanks!
In one of my batches I made candles with 8% lavender fragrance with 464 wax eco 12 wick and lit it in a safe place and it was nappy time. I gave a candle to someone to try and it knocked the both of them out. I'm only doing my candles in small batches and one pound of wax makes three approx 5.5oz candles in 8 Oz tins. My guess if filled to where the end of the lid sits. Haven't tried blending scents. My job got me doing so much overtime I hardly have time for pleasure.
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Question, I don’t always use up the entire amount of wax in my heating kettle, I had surgery on on knee and go into unannounced pain 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ and when that happens, I just shut everything down and go put my leg up...... how much is it hurting heating and reheating the wax??? ☹️☹️☹️
It's fine. Unless it's at like 200+ degrees for extended periods of time. At least that is what I've always been told by manufacturers. And thank you by the way! :)
I enjoy watching this! I use soy as well and you’re right, the hot throw is a challenge. How can I improve it? ( edit, you answered on end of video lol)
Older video but I hope you can reply to this. You said 464 has incredible cold throw. I have spent a whole year trying to figure out why I can BARELY get a cold throw at all with 464 (you have to stick your nose in just to smell anything). I have bought different batches of 464 from different places and found no difference. I do the manufacturer recommended: heat to 185, put in around 8% FO, and stir for a couple minutes. Then pour at around 145. Weak cold throw with all fragrances I've used (all from The Flaming Candle and Candlescience). I need some help figuring out what's going on here. It's so frustrating 😞
Hey Marvin. Just to clarify I've never said 464 has incredible hot throw but that It usually can have great cold throw. Most do with 464. Soy and soft waxes in general are pretty good about thst. But won't always be the case. The oils have a lot to do with it as well.
@@BlackTieBarn Hey Wade. Thanks for the quick response. I'm referring to you saying 464 waxes have an incredible Cold throw, not hot throw. On the first candle, you said you barely opened the lid and got a great scent. Then on the second candle you said "whew that is strong". With my 464 candles, I have to literally shove my whole face into the vessel with my nose touching the wax to notice even the lightest scent. Basically I can't get anywhere near a decent cold throw on these and I can't figure out why. It's driving me nuts.
So I ordered some of the 720 wicks from the flaming candle as you suggested, but I have noticed that with the candles I’ve made that the wicks become somewhat sticky after a couple burns. I really like the pro 600 wax and it’s fragrance load capabilities. Would you suggest possibly mixing with a firmer wax to negate some of the wick issues (sticky)? Or test another candle with the 720 wicks that are coming in the next couple days?
Hi Steph.. I'm not sure you mean by sticky. Adding wax to make it firmer will negate some of the benefits of a soft container wax but you certainly can
I’d like to do something like this where I critique peoples packaging and graphic design! Sounds like fun! Lol! Not a fan of this label. No offense to the person who’s candle this is. It needs something more. Like you said, more contrast. The font on the bottom portion doesn’t go with the larger font on the top.
Yep. Always room for improvement. But you have to keep in mind many people sending in products are brand new and just getting started. The purpose of sending them in is mostly for feedback on their candles but are usually still developing labels, tinkering, some haven't even started labels. These are all mostly new makers. :)
I don't actually have a patron/membership site setup yet. I only have some on this channel so just join as a member more for support than anything. That's why I added is for a minimum option of like $2, lol. But I'm working on real patreon/member site for layer.;)
