Oh these will be so pretty to do! I just found this whole art of tumbler design and I think this one will be great for doing for family for Christmas!! 😍😍
Hi Amber! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity with all of us. So here's my (possibly silly) question. Since you'd be sealing with epoxy at the end anyway; do you think it would work to use that super-sticky (double-sided) "red tape" instead of mod podge for the stripes? That way you could just remove the red liner, glitter it up and voila! I could be way off on this idea...let me know what you think. ☺️
HI Lynn! There are no silly questions ever!! I have never seen the double sided tape used for this kind of craft, not to say that it hasn't been used I just haven't seen it. It never hurts to try it out and see how it goes. I find this way kinda easy for me. I am sure everyone has a different take on it. I would love to hear back if you do use the double sided tape method!!
Tx so much for sharing!!! Your cup is gorgeous!! Can’t wait to make for Christmas! So, silly question I know, u don’t tape over previous line that’s glittered & dryed before going on to next color? I’m new @ tumblers so thought I would ask! Tx again!!
When you epoxy the glitter cups how do you keep it from drying bumpy? I’ve had issues with glitter cups and avoid doing them for that reason, I have to sand and re epoxy so much it’s too time consuming. What do you do?
Samantha Brosnick I don’t put a ton of glitter on the cups. Maybe two layers at most. Then I spray with triple thick and pat down the glitter that is raised. Then epoxy, sand and epoxy again. You don’t want a lot of glitter and then it clump up! Hope that helps!!
You can use a dry paint brush after glittering to get all the excess stray glitter off so it won’t clump .. and then it won’t be bumpy when applying the epoxy
I've seen on another channel where they let it dry for about a half hour then came in with a dry brush and went over the glitter to brush off loose glitter.
Brittany Berry if you are wanting crisp lines then I would use mod podge. But if you are wanting a blended effect then do it on the turner. Either way it’s going to look great! 😉
Unfortunately I don’t have a start to finish. But there are soooo many videos out there for this technique. If you have any other questions I would be so glad to help you out.
I want to do a cup with straight lines. but since ill be using epoxy how long do i let the epoxy sit for.. Also.. How do i do the different stripes without the colors going together.
Laurie Caron I don’t know how many colors I had. If you measure the distance between each piece of tape about an inch apart, that may have put equal amounts of colors. It’s really just on how you want it to look. There is no right or wrong ☺️
Depending on how wide the tape is, that’s how you will measure the distance between the tape. What you might could do is tape all around the cup and then remove the tape you don’t need. That should equal out the stripes you need.
Hello love these. I would like to make my own for family members. Can u PLEASE tell me Where is the least expensive place to get the cups and glitter and glue and vinyl wholesale? THANK U IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!!❤️🦋
Mia Agnew I don’t know where the least expensive place is. There are many companies out there that can help with wholesale and other things you are looking for. I would search on Facebook groups and see what you can find.
MrRealGoodMan you could do that. 😊 at the time I didn’t have spray paint so I didn’t do that. I also love glitter so even if I did do a white base I would have glittered the white!! There are many ways to go about this, this is just how I did it. Hope you have a bless day!!
Amanda Wampler so sorry, just now seeing this. No I don’t really have a pattern, just space the tape out as even as you can and paint between them. I’m sure there is an easier way now, since this was a while ago when I did this one.
