No idea why but I laughed my ass off at the Times New Roman vocals sheet and Fisher with his glasses on nodding back and forth like a bored professor while reading it. 6:06
My huge takeaways are the ones I’ve always known but this is video evidence of. 1 Alex Webster is a bass god who is such a prolific song writer and virtuoso musician. 2 cannibal corpse has an incredibly intelligent and straightforward approach to writing music which is allowing members to write their own songs and then record a rough demo of what they want to to sound like and letting the other members learn it and then improve upon it. 3 that cannibal corpse shows that real collaboration happens when the band members put their egos aside and approach the music like a business and a job. That you can’t get overly emotional about it and have to approach it like a good working relationship. It’s been the key to their success.
He helped mould Cannibal’s sound into something melodically progressive and innovative. It first started popping up on Vile, and then Gallery and Bloodbthirst it *really* started to become prominent. Now we have a beautifully aged Cannibal Corpse who have found a pleasant middle ground between dissonant thrash/death and interesting progressive melody usage.

I love how they describe scalding hail and use adjectives like fast, furious, high-speed, and brutal. That describes every song they've ever done! One of my favorite bands of a time
I've always been a fan of Cannibal, but didn't really understand how complicated and technical the music was until the advent of the internet. (Yes, I'm super old). Never been able to get close enough to the stage & when I did, it was pit time, so watching for virtuosity wasn't possible. People don't like the music, but it's as or more intense to perform than any other genre...save Chopin (piano).
That's what people never get! Death metal is so overlooked because of the initial perception. Death metal, jazz, and classical are the top of the heap in terms of musicianship IMHO.
I don't judge a piece of music's quality on how hard it is to play. To me that's angry teenage bullshit thinking, although when the song is good and the playing is proficient it is very nice.
I don't exactly understand this kind of music, I don't exactly understand how to write this kind of music, but I am widely interested in watching this band in the studio and how they create. I love the vibe I love the intensity I don't think I could play it I don't have the chops this band is really effing cool
same way i write too! its so cool he uses the same method. i just wish the rest of my bandmates learned them-____-. i really gotta get a good drum machine and then i would be set.
@nightshadetheexorcis my favs from the album are: Evisceration Plague, To Decompose, Priests of Sodom, Carnivorous Swarm, Shatter Their Bones, A Cauldron of Hate and Carrion Sculpted Entity, lol its like half the album, i also have the bonus track on my cd as well since im from Portugal
lol, this reminds me of the Rockstar Mayhem tour that they did last sunday on the 12th, George Corpsegrinder told the audience, "You better buy the new album or else I'll come down there and kill you with my bare f!@#$ing hands!" even though I can barely understand a word that's being said by Cannibal Corpse, I still find the speedy heavy music very heartpounding!
Cannibal Corpse is basically Alew Webster, the day he leaves the band will be in a serious trouble. He writes everything song and lyrics, Corpsegrinder doesn't even help him he said in a album he wrote like 2 lines lol
The original Cannibal Corpse guitarists were Bob Rusay and Jack Owen. When Bob left, Rob Barrett came in. Then when Rob Barrett left Cannibal Corpse, Pat O' Brien stepped in. Lastly, when Jack Owen left the band, Ro Barrett came back into Cannibal Corpse along with Pat O' Brien.
