You literally saved me around 150.00. I tried removing the jammed paper and doing everything else I could. Printer was still stuck on error code/6000 despite my turning the printer on and off and rechecking for paper jammed elsewhere. Just on a whim, I did a search, found your video. The key was seeing the ink jet carriage being moved. I hadn't tried that. When I did move it, BINGO! I found the problem: there was yet another little bit of paper jammed in the gears to the far side of the printer wall. It was tricky getting my hand inside, but I managed it. As soon as I removed that bit of paper and plugged the electric supply again, my printer was reborn! Amazing. I thank you so much for your video. If I hadn't watched it, I would have been tossing a still-excellent Canon printer!

Thanks a lot 😊. My printer showed the same error.After seeing your comment, I moved the carriage. Found a piece of paper between gears.

l was becoming tired of all the solutions l was getting online not working came across this video before even playing it read your comment then boom turns out it was wat l needed l just tried moving the ink jet carriage then boom it worked . super helpful❤

Thank you. I tried every steps except the last before I watched this video but it didn`t work, the last step reset the cartridge is the most important.

I got the 6000 support code on my brand new unused Pixma TS05a. All orange tape etc was removed, ink properly installed, all fine. It did not go away not after following the instructions in this video either. Then I unplugged the printer again, fiddled with all the cog wheels, trays and slides that I could find inside the printer, tried to move them all and moved the cartridge holder entirely to the left. I powered up the printer. It took very long and it was doing I-don't-know-what but finally it went into proper "ready" mode and the problem was solved.

OK. I have followed this with my MG 6850 and I still have a problem. I am certain there is no paper in the way, I cleared it. I have replaced the cartridges with new ones (except for the big black one which is almost full). When I power on, the cartridge tray moves to the far left and is difficult to get out. The only difference to your tutorial is that before I found your tutorial I had powered off using the on off button, which you say might lock the gears. They seem to move freely though. Do you have any further suggestions as to what I might try?

Tried all these steps...even tried putting in completely new ink cartridges, unable to get rid of the error code, rendering the printer useless. Am in the UK and sadly it's probably cheaper to buy a new printer than to see if this one can be fixed. Is there anything else I can try? (TS5050, there's green flap on the back of the printer but it doesn't pull out like the one in the video)

Hi. The TS5050 appears to be a model not supported by our team here at Canon USA. We can only support Canon products manufactured for and used within the US market. I have an MG5420, and it has a 6000 error or sometimes other errors have appeared. There is no paper jammed in the unit, I took all the trays and baffles out and looked carefully. I reseated the cartridges. I read where Canon USA support says to register but my serial number was not accepted so I can't do that. I have a lot of 250/251 ink, so I would like this printer to work again. If I buy a new one I would have to buy all new ink. I am having no luck finding the problem. Can anyone help? I would appreciate Canon USA providing actual support for this. I love this printer. Fantastic.

Hi, Steve! Our PIXMA support team would love to help you with this. When registering your printer, please make sure you're entering the correct number as the serial number. This number appears on a white label on the back of your printer and it consists of 4 letters followed by 5 numbers (example ABCD12345). @@CanonUSASupport I found the serial number, letters and numbers as you said, on a white label. But it does not work to register. I tried several times. I am stopped. I would appreciate your help with this.

Well... how funny. Having given up on this being fixed, I decided to put is away until you might reply to my last question. So I lifted it back to the table from the floor where I was working on it. Eureka, it now works. I wish I knew why🤔. Maybe it didn't like being on the floor. Thanks anyway.

yes it does. I have the 6850 which is basically the same model. You might need to remove the cover from the back. Then you see a black curved tube/guide which guides the paper around from bottom to top. On that guide is a tag of plastic (on the right when looking from the back). Slide this towards the middle about half an inch or a cm, and the back will pop open.
