You might be watching this review comparison because you are trying to figure which entry level DSLR camera to buy as your first camera or perhaps you have an older DSLR camera that you would like to update like myself since Canon discontinued the T2i. I own a full frame Canon 5D Mark III but I also want a crop sensor camera for many reasons, I would like to upgrade from my older T2i and in this review I am going to see if the Canon T4i/650D or the Canon 60D will be my upgrade for the crop sensor camera.
I had both of these cameras for a month, and shot time lapses actually I shot quite a few of them, I shot concerts, rock climbs, you name it, if I went somewhere I took them both with me. Right off that bat I'm going to tell you I am not seeing much image quality difference between the two cameras. I really had to pixel peep which is some thing I don't like to spend too much time on, but more on that later.

Dave, your videos are incredibly informative, easy to understand and insanely well edited. The comparisons you make are crystal clear and you really do separate yourself out from a lot of the rubbish that's on youtube. I can tell you spend a lot of time doing these videos (editing etc) so it's a treat to see someone on youtube that actually does it with passion. Dave, once again you give us a wonderful review. When I saw the 19min mark on the video, the first thing I thought was "wow, how much work did he have for preparing that?". And then there's the quality of everything, with an amazing amount of really important information, explained in a soft but entertaining way. The Canon Rebel T3i takes the consumer level dSLR a couple steps closer to the mid-level Canon 60D with the addition of the rotating rear LCD screen, remote flash firing, and in-camera processing features. I bought the T2i first, then decided to upgrade to the T3i, buy it on: #amzn.to/1dD9uGD

look up MAGIC LANTERN free software - get that quick focus mode back and shoot video in RAW just like the top of the line dslr's in the canon family - im surprised more people do not use it - you will love it i promise

Loving your videos. I've been rocking a 30D for so long and I finally upgraded to a used 650D today. It is sad to know that the image sensor hasn't changed since 2009, but I'm excited to finally be able to shoot video, have wireless control over my Speedlite, and be able to fully use apps like DSLR Controller.

One great feature of the 60D is that it's weather sealed. I owe a T4i and am thinking about the 60D as a 2nd body - and especially for light rain shoots. - Caveat: few of my lens are weather sealed.

The best review I've seen so far. The camera's are extensively used and put to the challenge during the review for us to see. Specs aren't just read out loud and you cover things that matter. I have an old Nikon D50. I really want to replace it.

It will be just fine - I have had my T4i and older rebel XT out in all kinds of conditions - just don't let it get soaked but damp, cold, freezing, light rain are all OK.

I have to say... between you, thatNikonGuy and Mr Neumann....you guys have the patience of saints. You guys are very informative and are just providing everyone with a little bit of education and information. Yet some people still think that they are owed something. I've seen a couple people attempt to bait you into arguments and I admire that you don't let certain comments get to you. Keep up the good work. Dave, fantastic video comparison and review. Its answered many of my questions, I've used a Canon XA-10 for upwards of a year now, and I've recognized its limitations in terms of cinematic quality and was looking for something that I could stretch some artistic muscle with on a budget. The T4i looks like a fantastic camera for the price, and I can attest to how nice the touch screen is, the XA-10 has the same feature (And UI). This will definitely help with my transition to the path of the DSLR.

I've found that the rear dial on the 60D is almost reason enough to buy it over the Rebel cameras. SO helpful. I agree that image quality should be priority, but you also have to think about productivity. Some seemingly small features can make the biggest difference when used in the real world. The rear dial, top LCD, weather resistance, and Kelvin WhiteBalance(Yes!) are some features that make the 60D totally worth it for me. Oh and Magic Lantern interface on 60D is much better than t2i

Great comparison. Very informative. I own a 60D myself and I love it to death. I also want to just point out that the stock music you use at 2:47 is the exact same that we use in the intro video for the church at which I work. Made me grin a little. I actually like it.
