@@mobilelegendsmemes yes and no. The profits SNK did make were nowhere near enough to save the company from bankruptcy. As a result their characters were in a legal limbo for a few years while the bankruptcy proceedings were ongoing. In other words, it's not that SNK wouldn't, it's that they couldn't.
bryan c ArcSys has made some of, if not, THE best animated 2D/3D fighting games rn, just take a look at P4AU or any of the Blazblu/Guilty Gear games. Skullgirls is also very good. 2D fighters haven’t died out in the slightest
@@thatguy48 Damn... I've seen this one before but never thought of that. In KOF '94 it's not just a statue it is a Guile-expy/clone that was encased in cement so, yeah, Guile is killing himself sort of.
No special intro for Morrigan. Would have required making new sprites for her, and we all know if Capcom makes new sprites for Morrigan, it would cause a resonance cascade.
Guys like. The humour was lost in translation bht Yuri said "osu" which is like saying "sup" But Sakura replied with a super formal long way of saying hello in Japanese. Which could be taken as Yuri being too much older according to Sakura or Sakura is hella nervous to fight Yuri. I let out a small laugh but I dunno if anyone else did.
The other situation could be both may be close in age but it's a kouhai being formal to their sempai whether by experience or age. Yuri's being informal yet Sakura chooses to be formal because Yuri "has more experience than her". Probably isn't the case lore wise but could be.
@@lnuma92 Since being in KOF, Yuri stopped aging at 20, so Yuri is definitely the senior martial artist between two since Alpha Sakura is at least 16 to 17.
@D core In 2003, Capcom Fighting Jam would also do the same recycled sprites gag which is the last game to do so because Capcom was starting to get too lazy. When they made sprites for SVC Chaos - SNK vs. Capcom, it was hard to tell from the old and new because of the animation style of the Neo-Geo.
@D core You mean Capcom Fighting All-Stars? Those reviews were actually stupid for it's criticism in taking a 3D turn. All Capcom Fighting All-Stars really needed was a roster as big as CvS2 with characters like D.D., Death, Ingrid, Rook, Agent Shadow, Shadow Lady, Ryu/Ko from Hissatsu Buraiken, Captain Commando, Jin from Cyberbots, Haggar from Final Fight, Maki from Final Fight 2, Dean from Final Fight 3, Heihachi from Tekken (exclusive PlayStation 2 character), Rockman, Protoman from Rockman 3, Fokker from Power Stone, Accel from Power Stone 2, Zaki from Project Justice, Leo from War-Zards, Ran from Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki 2, Batsu from School Rivals, Biff from Muscle Bomber, Kyo from The King of Fighters '94 (exclusive Arcade character), June from Stat Gladiator, Black Hayato from Star Gladiator 2, Ryu from Street Fighter, Vega/M. Bison from Street Fighter II, Cammy from Super Street Fighter II, Rose from Street Fighter Zero, Sakura from Street Fighter Zero 2, Karin from Street Fighter Zero 3, Alex from Street Fighter III, Urien from Street Fighter III 2nd Impact, Twelve from Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Demitri from Vampire, Donovan from Vampire Hunter, Bulleta from Vampire Savior, Hero Trojan from Tatakai no Banka. Fighter from King of the Dragons, Arthur from Knights of the Round, Keiser from Choukou Senki Kikaiouh, Strider Hiryu, Strider Hien from Strider Hiryu 2 and Amingo from Marvel vs Capcom 2 and then the game would be a best seller. Oh I agree, SVC Chaos did have lackluster designs. With stages that look dull.
I'm pretty sure he's saying 切るでヤンス - 切る = cut / kill. でヤンス is just Choi's "de yansu" catchphrase. I was halfway between dead man and dead meat for Raiden, but I really can't tell either way.
I wanna learn but I'm too lazy. Also, I'm too poor to go to Japan, so it'd be useless to learn it other than understanding anime/games without the need of translation/subtitles.
@@KenMasters. how nice! In the past, I tried to play Art of Fighting 1, but I found too slow and strange. The second one only strange (on PlayStation 2)☺
I love the way you translated the Japanese. What little Japanese I know, I love the fact that you didn't go for awkward translations like weaboos do. I hate saying that, because I'm sure some of them try, but watching subs sometimes and seeing awkward translation choices make for a stilted experience.
I dont get it why FG didnt do this anymore. This kind of stuff hype the match so much WE.NEED.THIS.STUFF.BACK!. Now in the ESports FG Scene this could actually work really good.
Thanks for the translation. The only constructive criticism I have is to maybe use a darker font for the background. Even on full screen, it was a little hard to read.
@@aladdin5937 Andy Bogard (Terry's brother) got stomped in a fight against Yamazaki. So it's an insult in getting them confused and reminding Terry your brother was a joke.
Good work ! ^^ But for Joe should says this : "Let's settle straight who is the strongest !" litterally right ? And Maki vs. Todoh "It's that all you have to say ?"
I believe Joe's line is "どっちがつええか白黒はっきりつけようじゃねぇか", which I think roughly translates as "The difference between us is black & white", but I couldn't think of a much better translation. Maki's line is "いいたいことはそれだけかい!" which I think literally translates as "Is that all you want?" so the same goes for that.
Oryx Beisa Oh, that so? You may be right then, I didn't know that meaning could be possible... Good to know! But are you sure for Maki it's not like that "言いたいのは(...)"? Because AFAIK, 言う means to say. Maybe I'm wrong 😕
Interactive intros may be fun to watch, but fighting games were a whole lot better with dialogue intros because it kinda puts plot into it, like the ones shown in Art of Fighting Trilogy, SVC Chaos - SNK vs. Capcom and The King of Fighters XIII.
Thanks for the hard work - but I think there are some mistakes in the translation - like Yamazaki and Terry - Why does he call Terry "Andy"? Anteta = you
I believe he's saying "ハンディ", Japanese for 'Handicap'. So the actual line is "Here, I'll handicap myself". It sounds a heck of a lot like Andy if you run it through Google Translate, hence the confusion. I'll put this up as an annotation along with any other errors, thanks.
I've seen more than 1 person translate that as "Andy". Given the Japanese accent (check Mai's cry when she loses a battle), Andy and Handi(cap) have similar pronunciations.
