+Heqing Huang I loved Zemo, because he was a man with no super human powers who actually accomplished something that no other villain could do, and that was to destroy the Avengers. He did it by making the Avengers implode from the inside, by making the main heroes distrust each other to the point of no return. Whereas both Ultron or Loki failed to take down the Avengers because they attacked from the outside, and thus the heroes could unite and defeat a common enemy.

Although I agree with complaints on the villian that his plan was very convenient and slightly complicated, I agree that I liked that he was a small scale villain with personal motivations who just wanted to divide the Avengers.

+Pouch King Yeah, the second time I watched the film I realized he wasn't that bad as I thought ar first. He has good motivations, I like him as a strategist, but the plan was so convenient and was a complicated way to bring them together, that was luck for the most part. And he didn't bring a lot of impact for the Avengers, just for Tony and Cap. Did not like his plan at all, but it was well managed, I wished we could have seen more of him before, like on Age of Ultron.

+Victor Dino Jr. no I'd say the impact is quite real as cap and iron man are two of the main avengers and leaders in mcu so a rift between them caused by this guy is actually the most damage done to the avengers ever in the mcu and that's especially Impressive considering this was just a normal guy with no superpowers

+Dakota Hazel you left out the part where this movie is titled Captain America...rather than Iron Man. Also, even if your plot hole accusations were true, it would still be a wildly fun and entertaining action movie that wasn't too long and had amazing special effects. I think you're too impulsive to call it "dumb" or "stupid" or other simple words; try watching it a second time (or first, I doubt you really saw it) and see if you can think of more nuance to your outrage.

I think after two avengers movies fighting an army of villans, it took a guy with a vengence to break the avengers. I know it's not great, but it shows how fragile they all are. Like Punisher says in the Daredevil series, "you're just one bad day away from becoming me". It's philosophical. take care

+Relatosdelanoche Yeah, I don't buy into this whole criticism of this particular villain. It's almost like the youtube critics feel the need to find things to... critique about this movie in order for them to not appear fanboys (in their own heads), plainly looking for where there might be cracks so they can feel legit. There is ONE origin story in this movie: Zemo's. Marvel's not done with him yet. And he is EXTREMELY important to this movie, he basically choreographs everything, all the public tragedies that can be pinned on the Avengers and Bucky's implication, and then he leaks the partial truth to Tony to get him and Captain America on peace terms in the same spot, just so he can deal his final blow. Zemo is the best Marvel villain to date. The rest of the movie would just NOT WORK the same without his implications, a lot of different things need to happen differently without him for the Civil War to make sense, and Civil War works as a movie with so many superheroes BECAUSE things happen like they do.

+Relatosdelanoche Yeah, I get he's not some over the top personality like the Joker....but weren't we pissed about how ridiculous Luthor was in BvS? it's really making a very narrow interpretation of what a good villain is if he has to be over the top and charismatic to be a "good villain." He feels like a guy....well that's the point. He is a guy (who is also an assassin and mass murderer). In order to really bring the dramatic punch at the end, his actions had to carry some mystery and misdirection. He very much fit the themes of the movie in terms of vengeance and consequences. He plays everyone in this movie. He gets Bucky free so Cap will have to protect him and makes sure Bucky and Cap from the interrogation will presume he's after the other Winter Soldiers. Then when it's time he feeds information about his crimes to the public so Iron Man realizes Cap was right and that he needs to back him up. Luring them to a facility that Cap and Bucky can't get to Zemo in without help from someone like Iron Man. Without him manipulating both sides in this way the movie wouldn't happen. It was still possible even after the airport for Cap and Iron Man to get back on the same page. But that last blow made it a very long road ahead for true reconciliation.

***** The Sokovia Accords HAS its own flaws. I don't eliminate them altogether. Cap's suggestion about being controlled is still an assumption. This is just a hypothetical situation that wasn't yet tested because it wasn't tried yet. The Accords is not yet in effect globally in the movies because of the Vienna incident. Ross has the de facto control for now since it wasn't yet ratified officially by the world governments. It was non-sensical of course that there would be no collateral damage in an alien war. Heck, even in human wars there's always civilian casualties. Their argument is in Ultron's creation, not just the Chitauri Invasion or the HYDRA Helicarriers. That's why the Accords where named "The SOKOVIA" because the Avengers, specifically Tony, screwed up big time by making a villain with his own hands. I'm more surprised that he wasn't arrested after the events of Ultron. So yeah. Their argument is also about the Avengers can also bring doom other than salvation, not just civilians dying.

I've watched this movie three times and each time he makes more sense . and kudos to the russo's every argument about zemo can be counter-argued by the line in the movie where he says he has patience and experience which means if cap and stark had not appeared in siberia he would have done something else later to try and and split them apart, also he can be looked at as an anti-hero as his motive was to take revenge for himself , others like him , to make an empire fall from whiten but also remove also harmful threats otherwise he would not take out the five other winter solders .

He was trained & gain a lot of that info because Black Widow leaked Sheilds files in Winter Soldier. The only thing he really needed to get was the mission report from December 16, 1991. Yep I agree. I think he wasn't shoehorned to make them fight. He knew he can't fight them but knew he can make them fight each other. Of course the biggest plot device is Bucky killing Stark's parents, but it was still done properly (though I have no idea how Cap knew?)

I'm assuming you have watched the movie right? Just think about all the things from the moment winter soldier was being setup. He relied on captain and Bucky escaping cause he said he knows Steve Rogers well in the end. That's not good enough. Steve and Bucky could've easily been captured on the escape scene. Zemo himself could've been captured as well in the escape scenario. A lot of luck have to do with his escape. He also needed ironman to watch the video and what an amazing timing on his part for ironman just to show up in the right place at the right time. Too many other random things that is not worth mentioning. Only thing that matters is that his plans was not smart at all and relies too much on other people to pull it off. Beside that, I still love the movie. It was enjoyable and have so many fun moments. Just wished the villian' plans was better executed.
