AVENGERS Age of Ultron - Movie Review 

The plan was actually pretty good. Ultron wanted to create a meteor with that floating city to bombard into the Earth creating massive destruction kind of like what killed the dinosaurs. It's kind of poetic if you think about it.

"Pulled a 9/11" was my exact thought during that scene lol

I can understand a lot of the negative criticisms toward this movie, it's complicated and sometimes feels rushed. But holy shit, everything else this movie throws at you makes up for it in my opinion. After waiting three years we finally get to see these heroes come together again and take on an awesome villain. Seeing it opening night in a packed theater was a great experience. My only complaints is the dark color tone and the sometimes fake looking CGI (particularly the backgrounds). But other than that, I had a lot of fun with this movie and can't wait to see it again. Hopefully we'll get an extended version with the Blu-Ray.

i liked it a lot but there was something that really bothered me specially at the end, it was TOO family-friendly, i mean with so much destruction everywhere the only casualty was quicksilver WTF, that was very unrealistic for me and like the way they were able to save everyone in the floating city....that´s just Disney´s fault.

I thought Age of Ultron was good. Its not mind blowing by any means but I enjoyed it. The action scenes were great and I thought Ultron was a cool villain.

I love this movie to death. I've seen it three days in a row and it just keeps getting better for me. I do see and acknowledge a lot of the complaints people have with this movie, and my counter is that for some reason that no one explained they cut an hour of this movie. it was originally intended to be 3 hours and 30 minutes and they decided to cut an hour of it off. honestly I'm surprised and disappointed that it wasn't longer. I felt as though it needed to be longer, like at least 2 hours and 45 minutes. but either than that I give this movie an A

Ultron explains that he wants to cause an extinction level event like what happened to the dinosaurs, he was going to lift that city into space and drop it like a meteor, I get why you thought it was convoluted though, when he explains it, it is more implied by his comments and scarlet witch seeing visions mind.

quicksilver dying made me rage

I just got back from seeing this....and it was amazing. So maybe good moments in this. Hawkeye actually appeared. He actually had a character and some really good moments. And good for him, after the first Avengers movie he really deserved more focus. The action was amazing, there was some real intensity, drama, comedy, just everything. This was definitely a better movie than the first Avengers. Just a fun and excellent film.

Finally, someone likes this movie just as much as the first one. I thought I was only one. I can understand the complaints people had with the movie but like he the movie had more action, it had more characters and I was overall a fun movie. I does have problems here there but I can't tell you to not this movie with your friends.

Loved this movie! 3rd favorite in the MCU, actually liked it more that the first Avengers. The only problem i had with the film is that the creation of Ultron was kinda rushed. The action was INSANE, CGI seamless and also character debt was here, made Hawkeye far more important character. Humor was also on point, bought the whole romance with Banner and Natasha. In the end this was a spectacle and blockbuster in the full sense of the world.

This movie felt like a more mature and a more philosophical version of the first one. An overall awesome improvement. Can't wait for the Infinity Wars.

I get the ending. Ultron was going for the easier plan which was to steal the nuke codes , but Jarvis kept him from doing that by changing the codes. So he decides to recreate the extinction of the dinosaurs which he seemed to be fascinated with.

Lol the phone call was like in the bloopers of Rush Hour 2, where Jackie was like "We're filming! U waista our film!"

The original runtime was 3 and half hours. For the blue-ray we're getting a 3 hour version (40 extra minutes from the theater version). I wonder if we'll ever get the remaining 30min though :(

Really like the character development in this one. The style of directing reminded of something like a TV show, but condensed into a movie. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Joss Whedon made Firefly.

After watching your Batman V Superman Review....WOW!!! You gave this movie a HUUUUUGE(pronounced-yooge like Trump) pass!!!

My only complaint with the movie would be that there was no conflict at the end of the film. I figured that because they'd be setting up for civil war that by the end of this movie the team would be split and at each others throats. But by the end of the movie everyone is still getting along and there's no sign of what is to come (comic book speaking) to do with civil war.

Leaving that phone call in was awesome and it made me subscribe!

Great review, I just saw the movie today with my Dad and Brother. It was amazing, especially James Spader as Ultron. Funny, Scary, and just an awesome villain.

Just saw this today. Still like the first one a lot better, but I loved the War Machine cameo and the new lineup at the end. Vision was really cool too.

I disagree on Ultron's plan to be too much. I mean it takes a lot to create a global extinction. There isn't any easier way to efficiently eradicate all humans on earth.

So will there be an extended director's cut when this comes out on blu-ray? Would be awesome to watch without the chopped out bits, eh?

I love how he gets pissed off and starts destroying everything ..hopefully in the next marvel movies they could make him where he can completely control his power and talk like Bruce banner when he's in Hulk mode .

People look back on the first Avengers with nostalgia and remember it being this "big deal" when honestly this movie fixes a lot of the cookie-cutter character development issues and gives more time devoted to the interactions within the team. I think this movie might actually be a little better than the first one. It's almost unreasonable to expect them "raise the stakes" even more, so of course there are going to be people disappointed. It was kind of destined to be a let down with the overhyped fans and with it being a segway into phase 3 (packing in plot points.) I wonder if the extended cut will help it feel less choppy at moments though... Since Joss said quite a bit of the movie was cut.

Many people complain about Ultron's plan and the climax, but it makes more sense. Everyone always says ""why doesn't he just use Nukes?"....its pretty simple why he doesn't use Nukes Nukes give off huge EMP's and would also destroy Ultron and any possibilities for him to ever remake himself or evolve. So trying to recreate the event that wiped out the Dino's was pretty creative and offered a cool visual along with a pressure cooker situation instead of it just being about destroying Ultron and all of his minions.

I ended up coming out of the movie LOVING Scarlet Witch and Thor. Thor was a scene stealer for me with his silly one liners and facial expressions and Scarlet Witch felt the most fleshed out out of the new characters and was a badass the way she does her spells with her fingers. And when she broke down after Quicksilver's death and pretty much evaporated every Ultron robot around her. And i love how she doesn't know how powerful she actually is and is still discovering how to use her powers. I can't wait to see more of her especially with her brothers death. I feel like that's going to play a big part in her character arc in the future movies.

I agree 100% with this.. I dont get why they think the first one was better when you get more from this movie than the first one. Plus, I actually like this quicksilver better than the one in days of futures past because you sympathise for his character more. You know his motivation and why they did what they did. He was under utilized though.

His plan did make sense: Ultron is a child, when you are child the first big crisis you learn about is how the dinosaurs got wiped out. They were made extinct by a meteor (a giant rock) hitting the earth- hence this is where Ultron got his inspiration.

AOU is marvel's MOS. things i liked the most: cap & thor's relationship, science bros, party scene, vision, the twins, war machine, hawkeye finally getting proper treatment, new avengers line up, interactions among the avengers, action, nick fury and maria hill... things i didnt like: quicksilver dying, black widow/hulk relationship, ultron's origin could have been handled better and he was too weak, hawkeye having wife and kids, hulk leaving god knows where, it wasnt as cohesive as i thought it would be...

I personally far preferred Ultron to Loki as a villain for the Avengers. I found him to be more interesting to listen to and watch. Sorry Tom Hiddleston

The building collapse and citizens reaction when Hulk is looking around really did feel like a 9/11 moment

They never really showed what else was in that dream that Thor went to wherever he went to find out. What a mouthful. He just sorta popped back into the movie when the fighting began again

cool review! subscribed! just wanna add: it was a good badass movie. it just didnt had the same impact of the 1st one. i think its too fast paced. but the action was legendary! the mid credit scene was like, wow Thanos is in a locker room?! WTF?! id rather he's sitting in darkness then lady death shows up, or sumthin like that.

To people who question Ultron's motivations, they show how much of a personality he has. He talks about religion a lot and how interesting it is to him among other feelings. Also, when Ultron first gained consciousness, it showed how he saw all the war and destruction in human history. That along with images of the avengers who also were created to fight. This leads him to the conclusion that humanity is not fit to survive. However, he also envies humans and has somewhat of a spiritual connection with humanity. This prompts him to build all his robots in human form although it's not necessary at all. So he has these competing thoughts of humanities imperfection, but this desire to be a human himself (or, to be a "real boy"). This is what prompts him to create Vision. That way he could finally be human, but without all the imperfections that humanity is wrought with. Then, with the meteor, he saw that the world was covered in the imperfections of humanity, so he could wipe it clean with only him around to force evolution to occur.

Definitely needed to be longer, loved Ultron except when his mouth was in motion, and for Quicksilver: his dead scene was dumb, was the first Avenger to die and nothing was said to honor his heroism: funeral or memorial. The Vision was immaculate! Yes, love the Cap shirt. It fits you well! You would make a great Captain America! ✌🏻️

I would be quicksilver because he's really protective of his younger sister scarlet witch, he runs at the speed of sound. And he can be a little violent and funny at the same time.

I walked away from this move thinking it was waaaaayyyyy better than the first one. The writing and character interactions was awesome. It made you actually care about them. Also I felt like everyone got equal screen time and my boy Hawkeye, finally got some character development instead of being a mindless drone. My only real complaint was that the whole Black Widow and Hulk romance came straight from left field. Don't get me wrong I liked it and they had good chemistry together but I think if they were gonna go that route, they should've built it up in the first Avengers.

Scarlett Johansson was pregnant during filming, so many of her scenes were scheduled early in filming before she began to show. To help hide her pregnancy later in filming, three stunt doubles were hired. This caused a lot of confusion amongst the other actors since, according to them, all of the stunt women looked very similar to Johansson. Chris Evans stated that it got to the point where he would say hello and start a conversation with one of them only to realize midway that the person he was talking to wasn't Johansson. Ultimately, some scenes used CGI to hide Johansson's belly.

I think the most complaint I hear about this movie is that it didn't capture the magic of the first movie.... What do they mean? That they want to see Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye meeting for first time and assembling into a team....? Say what?! Again?

"We are fighting an army of robots and I only got a bow and arrow, nothing makes sense right now" hawkeye.. I loved him in this movie

Loved the movie, but i was wondering what was the point of klaw (andy serkis) because they barely used him. I thought he was supposed to be a big part of the movie, or at least become the villain in the next one, but it seems like that wont happen.

In my opinion I liked how Hawkeye interacted with the team better in the first avengers, because in the first he talked to everybody in this one he's kind of in the corner no body really noticing him and I still haven't seen why Hawkeye deserves to be an avenger

Loved the movie. Loki bored me as a villain in the first avengers, thought Ultron was much better; for that reason, I thought that this was a better film than the first. James Spader was the perfect casting choice.
