They must have had built some themselves. That is the only logical thing they could have done. Since most likely you need a special phasility to build them, they would have to do it slowly and carefully to make sure they were built right and no accidents happened.
I point to Problems in Voyager Myself but... They are amongst a Space Faring Group of people Who have Comparable technology to their Own. They could barter for Torpedoes. And in this Case, the Torpedo was used for a Ceremonial Function, and was likely Given to them, and was not their own. It also may not have even had the Destructive Capacity of a Normal Torpedo given what it was Used for. It may have been a Proverbial, or even Actual, Firework Show.
I think the torpedo part is easy to make, it’s the warhead that they have issues with. This torpedo probably didn’t have a warhead attached so I don’t think it was actually a waste.
I belive this this episode there is the 3D model of the generic freighter/alien/bajor ship. You know that one they kept using the physical model since TNG by flipping it and adding more or less greebles or re-colouring, the triangle shaped one. Well apparantly they loved it so much they made it again in 3D, not a new ship, THEY REMADE THE RE-USE FOR EVERYTHING SHIP IN FULL 3D. And and just fucking love that.
More than one episode actually shows them building or talking about heavily modifying to the point of building a torpedo. My guess is that, under normal circumstances torpedoes are not able to be manufactured. But as a critical weapon, I am sure they would have figured out what they needed to build one themselves. I just wished they spent 30 seconds mentioning this.
@@matthewcampbell7286 And if they don't have larger replicators in the cargo bay, it might be a case of having to replicate each bit in a standard replicator and it takes ages
most likely they were making the parts that way and then assemble those to make more torps - as far as we know voyager didnt have a large scale industrial replicator to make entire torps in one go.
The casings, the mechanisms, easy. It's the antimatter that's the kicker. They need that for the explosive part and to fuel the warp reactor that produces the energy needed to replicate the casings.
