I noted that the prongs were made with a 0.55 dia pipe. Is this thick enough for printing and making a mold for casting and/or casting directly after printing in wax? I was told that prongs should be about 1 mm dia. Also, how tall should the prongs be for setting the 1.3 mm stones? Do you Boolean the stones from the solid ring leaving the openings as is for casting or do you make them smaller to be later adjusted for the setter? Do you increase the overall dimensions to account for shrinkage, especially with the center bezel? What factor [e.g. 1.2x - 1.5x] would you suggest if the piece will be directly cast from a printed wax? Thank you for the video. It has given me a lot to think about.

Hi MJY, the prong size is base on the stone size. for melee, I won't go anything less then 0.4 mm. It is also depends on the setting. If your bead set is share prong, prong need to be bigger. However, you don't want the prong too big, or people will see the prongs not the stone. prong should be a little taller than table. for the shrinkage, it depends on your printer. you will need to work with the shrinkage of your printer to enlarge your model accordingly.

@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thank you for the information. Am I correct that the stones are Booleaned from the ring before using the CAD file for printing.
