Captiva Osprey Nest 🔸 Darling Has Been Rescued After Falling In The Water🔸 2024.07.04

This afternoon while trying to land at the dock, Darling fell into the water. After many attempts, Darling could not get airborne. Rescue was called in immediately to capture Darling and bring Darling to CROW. While waiting for the rescue team a neighbor successfully captured Darling and remained on site while the rescue team arrived. There is no rescue footage due to Darling going out of cam view. Darling now resides at CROW where Darling will be assessed

Watching Darling falling into the water and trying so hard to get out was simply heart wrenching. Ever so grateful for Lori's neighbors, Micheal & Mary, for their quick action to rescue Darling.

"Thank You" 4 the GOOD news !!! If Darling had to fall......the Place to do it couldn't have been BETTER than here. Being at the RIGHT Place at the RIGHT Time......is never coincidental. Never? Thanks for this vid Ondabebe. I couldn't bring myself to watch the live stream the last couple of days the way things were going (absent parents, no fish, chicks fighting) but have kept an eye on the Activity Log. So grateful to all concerned for saving Darling, and I see Edie appeared with two partial fish later so things are looking up for Ding too. Keeping fingers crossed for them all. ❤

My thoughts and prayers for Darling.❤️🙏🤞🏼. I saw her off to the side flapping her wings and then she couldn’t do it anymore and she went under the dock. It could that her foot slipped and she lost her footing. So unfortunate and if she is alright, can she be returned? God bless to this whole family.🙏❤️🤞🏼🥰🤔😢❌⭕️

What is going on with these 2- are they fighting? Are both eating?

Darling and Ding have been having confrontations with each other mostly as to who should be on the nest. The unexplained is where did Jack go and why Edie is not bringing fish. Now I do know the water is much warmer than usual in Florida which means the fish have gone deeper which might be causing fishing problems for Edie.

@@Ondabebe Thanks for Posting. A stroke of luck Darling missed the dock planking and went into the water. At CROW it can learn how to fish legally from Pools stocked with fish she can readily gather up--after it recovers it's stamina. Rescued Eagles also are given the same training as they are almost exclusively Fish Eaters also.
