I use Orion XTR PRO subwoofers I've been hooked on Orion xtr's since the late 80's and I'm so glad that the new people running it today is the same guys that ran it back then and they brought back the Orion NT Amplifiers and they are being made like they were back then here in the good ol Pheonix Arizona area in the good ol united states so they're not only bringing back one of the cleanest sounding lines of amplifiers ever made, if u don't beleive me when u get a chance and see one ask them to let u hear it and u'll see
Ive had Memphis, Alpine and kicker along with kenwood and Skar audio. Alpine type R i have had 12, 10s and currently running 2 8s in my GMC and i absolutely love them. Also running a Kicker L7R 10inch in my civic and it is impressive in a ported box. All these brands have been good to me had 2 15inch memphis refrence in a Expedition and they sounded clean in a sealed box
DC Audio. I just bought Dc audio level 4 12's in a Gately box and I would say they are SQL subs and not just spl subs. My last subs were Helix and they were definitely SQ subs but I love the power and bass output of the DC Audio. I replace my subs every 2-3 years for the last 30 yrs and I've tried everything, all the big brands. My favorite being the DC's and DD audio subs.
Rockford Fosgate subwoofer is my go to brand ever since. I’ve been looking to buy new brands of subwoofer but I’m still ended up owning Rockford Fosgate sub. I got 4X 10” subs RF subs but I install on 2 on my 23 Honda civic then the other pair is reserve incase I need to add more but I don’t think so. I’m not into SPL. My ears like SQL. My ears are more on a loud and clear set up. 🔊🔊
I'm running 3 soundstream R3 10" subs in the back of a 2008 mercedes sl550 and they sound great. I'm building a higher end sq system with Steg , helix etc and these subs fit right end. I think the biggest point is to understand your subs parameters and how and where the subs will be and to really dial in your enclosure. Doing that, you can really really bring so much more out of your speakers.
I have Kicker KS Series Speakers, dual 12” Kicker L7’s with Kicker 1200 watts mono amp and Kicker 360 watts 4 channel amp. I always get compliments from people since they hear my car thump from 3 blocks away
I’ve had it ALL and been in this game since 89’! Gimme JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, or Alpine in that order for everyday driver and you can keep the rest!
what about B2 audio? B2 audio is one of the best in the industry! Its a shame you didn't even mention them when theyy are better then most the brands you listed. I come from memphis Mojo which are good but the B2 rage is a beast!
The Rockford T3 19" is a BEAST!! It hits HARD, LOW and sounds amazing for a big woofer. None of that sloppy sounding bass it's punchy like how 10's are. Can be used for SPL also some dude is doing almost 160db with 2 T-2500's strapped. Rockford is quality I am very impressed!
Premium price, good products, they are a mainstream brand. Tons of 90s nostalgia for me. But sq is going to best left with the Israelis Germans and French. Ui ui
Absolutely! Using the JL Audio 10W3v3-2 now with my JL 500/1 that is 20 yrs. old. I’ve used this same amp in every system build in multiple vehicles over the years. I’ve tried many others; sold them and put the 500/1 right back in!#🔊❤️
A sub is nothing without a proper built and spec box. The cheapest sub will sound and perform great in proper built box. Same goes for best sub sounds like 💩 in wrong built and spec box. Stick to your budget anything can be built to sound great
I got a question for you. What speakers, woofers and amps would you install in a truck like GMC sierra? Let’s say you wanna spend about $2000 to $3000 on all of this. What would be the best choice?
Hope you take our advice to save you alot of time and money. Just remember JL Audio or Rockford Fosgate! My JL Audio 500/1 is still bumping and I’ve used it for 20 years in multiple systems and vehicles for example. This amp is in my new Civic on (1) JL 10W3v3-2 right now.🔊❤️@hockeymask1347
Thanks for the advice. Seems like both of those brands don’t carry a powerful 8” subs. They both are only 250 watts rms. Well the W7 8” is pretty powerful but pretty expensive as well. I’m looking for 8” subs that thumps hard!! I’m an SPL guy. I like to bump. I don’t care too much for SQ when it comes to subs. What 8” subs do you guys recommend that thumps hard?
I had a single Skar ZVX-8 in my Jeep Wrangler a few years back on that same JL Audio 500/1 amp that hit really hard! Sundown, Mojo, are some subs I would consider if not JL Audio or Rockford Fosgate.@@hockeymask1
Depends on what you’re look for. A single to match the sound quality for cheaper? The guy who mentioned a pair of W6s was on target, but you’d spend more on wiring and materials for the same power.
So I tried upgrading door subs when I put my aftermarket amp in, the sound surprisingly was a downgrade.. so the stocks went back in! Need to do something with em now so Gonna do a rear enclosure, theyre lil 6.5 inchers. Should I go with 2 separate sealed boxes, or pack them both into a single "L vent" type box? Orrr, should I buy 2 more of em and go with a quad sealed box? My systems always had either single or dual 10"/12" setups, so not sure what to expect here.
I’ve heard alot of (4) 8” systems and they sound awesome! I dated a girl in the 90’s that had a Honda CRX with (1) JL Audio 8” in a bandpass box with a small JL amp that sounded incredible! So much so that I have never forgot it!#🔊❤️
@@bondalero0074 Ive been told that dual 6.5's total together the surface area of a single 10" Think i may go with a single hyper vented box, and add a 2nd one if not satisfied.
Subs have come along way now! There are so many great 6.5” and 8” subs that sound really good. I heard my 1st set of Momo 8” in factory box this weekend that were really impressive!
@@Todd_G_FPV So I bought a prefab box, and it sucked... bad! I then built a 1cf ported box and that did the trick, big time! The bottom shelf pyles sounded like a good 10, right on point with what you said. Im so impressed, Im going to build a quad 6.5 dual opposing box into a butcher block coffee table im constructing, and run a 500w dayton sub amp to it. I think the results will be overwhelmingly positive ; )
Why don't you have a link in the description? I looked and wasn't there and thought ok they he no website. But then the video was almost done and you stated it. If I would not of watched til the end I would of never went to the website. Yr losing money dude. Please put link to website in bio, description.... Just trying to help you out
Thanks Pete! We were suppose to take this video down because it still needed to be edited. But it took off so we left it up and forgot about the link in the description. Thanks for the heads up! 👍
I was thinking the same thing...wtf?! I was in the car audio scene back in the 90s and recently got back into it. I've tried a lot of different brands as I'm constantly chasing that JL sound and just can't find it.
Skar is made at the worst china plant ever have u seen it had to be built in the 70’s and looks like use change oil there for every piece of strip mining EQ equipment in china there. Terrible
Skar is the best at any price. I have slowly adopted them over 3 trucks now and run 2 12s in their stealth Ford f150 enclosure. Not sq brand, but I know what I like. They fit the bill every time.
Alpine is slapping in 22 model 3 rwd. Best sound system I think it’s just as good as or better then a performance model 3 sound system a newer model S no cap just truth. The bass hits hard an loud but it’s clean not distorted bass 😎
