Joe joins Mr. Goodpliers to check out cars and trucks sold at auction! A rare Ford sedan delivery, Chevrolet, Buick, Rambler, Dodge and more... We'll take a look at some parts and engines as well!
You guys don’t know how good you have it over there with all that old tin. Enjoy listening to you peel of the brand and models. Very knowledgeable! 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
I had a lot of those Avon automotive decanters... including the Winny... with Deep Country... back in the '70s and very early '80s. One of my grandmothers was an Avon saleswoman. I could always count on getting a new one for every birthday and Christmas.😁
That Windsor was an absolute sweetheart. The Monaco had real potential - it was a great chance to get in to a Mopar affordably without spending thousands for a gutted shell of a B or E body!
Nice content. The 66 F100 you videoed had a later model small block swap. Ford never put a 289 in a truck. If that truck came with a v8 it would have been a 352 FE. Also there were two different dash options in 65 and 66. The metal circular gauge was base model and the chrome plated plastic with horizontal speedometer was Custom Cab. I know you cover everything and have a lot of car knowledge. Im an old gearhead myself and the F100 is my main interest.
We actually went to another sale that day. I bought the 350 TBI and 700R4 transmission. Should have bought the boat tail Riviera - I'm not crazy over them, but it was a steal at $800. Never know how high the other bidder would have gone though...
'69 Grand Prix door handle was slightly different than the Riviera GS, being nearly completely flush with the door panel...you pushed in the handle at the rear with your thumb, then the rest of the handle popped out from the door...not sure if that door handle was also on the '70-72 Grand Prix.
Great videos, fluid drive ,most people have no idea what that is ,had a guy tell me no such a thing !!!, told me of it has a clutch ,you have to use !!! my dad had a 50 Dodge pu with fluid drive ,it was a nice old truck!!
Hi Mr. Goodpliers Those vintage Ford trucks shown at the beginning would be just before the so called 'jail bar' grill. If you ever come across that grill again just refer to it as 'Jail House Rock' grill, as it just sounds better. With that name Elvis Presley would love it!
The inside was amazing but it was super rusty underneath. Tempting price but it needed SO MUCH metal work to bring back. It's easier to convert a 4 door car than to fix a rusty two door
OMG i have that exact winabago bottle.. man the cars? where was this there some gems for cheep!!! 66 ford for under a grand, but its Frankensteined! , And that's not the original engine with that modern power steering business.?? dam where am i when this stuff is going on ...
I can't believe how cheap a lot of these sold for!...even those '90's trucks sold cheap enough that you might could get them running and flip them and make some money...I mean, a few hundred bucks for a classic car or truck that is mostly complete and restoreable?..that's nuts these days!..around here, a lot of those that sold for $600-$1500 would be asking 5 or 6 grand for!
32:11...I sold a set of these that came off a '76 Riviera for scrap metal not that many years ago..good shape with all the center caps..I thought about keeping them, but they had an "odd" bolt patter that did not fit any of my Chevy's, and I figured that nobody would ever want a set of those for anything and would never buy them, so I scrapped them...I don't know what they are worth now, but since I scrapped a good set, probably quite a bit I imagine..the '76 Riviera they came off was my brothers, it was in good condition, but he bought it purely for the 455 engine and transmission that he put in his '82 Regal..😨..the rest of the car was junked..that Regal was a rocket with the torque from that 455!...
@@mr.goodpliers6988 Well, like I said, that was the early '90's...he pulled the(non-turbo)3.8 V6 out himself, dropped in the 455 and the tranny that came with it..did most of the work himself, I think he had someone shorten the driveshaft, I can't remember, and pretty sure he used the Riviera radiator somehow..don't remember the details, but the install wasn't that bad, couldn't have been since he did it himself as a 18-19 year old. It DID really need stronger front springs, as it was front-heavy now, and unfortunately had an open differential..it was never raced, but it was a rocket!..I drove it once, it was quiet inside, and the speedo needle rose like it was a tach..you had to REALLY be light on the throttle until you got it rolling good, if you punched it off the line, you would be swapping ends really quick. And this was a low-compression '76 smog 455!..I believe if the install was done right, and the car was set up right, it would be great..he drove the car awhile and then sold it. Don't know what happened to it after that...
@@MasteringTheModel I'm thinking I'm going to keep it. It's been fully restored but it's only 90% complete and its been in a barn for a while. It's a 1.5 ton on a 1/2 ton frame but still has the ugly front end on it. However I located the 1/2 ton front sheet metal in one of my dad's stashes. I'm missing the bed and a radiator though. Edit I'll do a video on it soon.
That 71 Boat tail looked like a good money maker!!! How much did that go for? Could have been a good snag - depending on how much work it needed and the price. I used to do car flips - I was real spoiled, I looked for cars that didn't need any work at all
Some of those cars went for the high end of retail, a few even higher than that, and there were others that I would have made people spend more money than they wanted to because, they sold pretty cheap.
