The "something's not right there" thing is Mozeliak and the front office. Was happy to see Goldy break out a little bit, have to hope he can keep that up for awhile. Also good to see Mikolas pitch more than 3 innings this time, and hold a team under 4 runs.

It's about time Oli got fired up and ejected in order to get this team fired up! Looked to me like DeScalso felt the vibe in the dugout on the downside and decided something needed to be done to get them going, and Oli saw what was happening and jumped on it to lite a bit of a fire under their asses. Looked like it worked, too, as the players were giving him the ovation on his trip to the locker room, then came back with a little more fire.

My guess is his stats will be about where they are now. At any rate, no matter how good he might be, the Cardinals have dug themselves into a hole which they won’t be able to climb out. Another 90+ loss season and another last place finish.

Hey JD; The Cardinals are who they are….NOT a good baseball team!! I’ve resigned myself to that fact. Now my mind set is just watch the games expecting very little from any one player. My pre-season prediction of 78 wins may be high! We have last season and are 40 games into this season. Mr. Freimund sees what we all see. The Cardinals are trending down! They have lost the Cardinal way. And there are reasons all over the spectrum as to why that is. I’ve let all hopes go! I’m a Cardinal fan all my life and that ain’t changing, good, bad or ugly. So I’ve just resigned myself to root for this deck of Cards. It’s kinda like what the Phillies fans did with Trey Turner last year when he struggled miserably. They gave him a standing ovation just for stepping up to the plate, not expecting nothing from him. That’s what I will try to emulate as a heartland Cardinal fan. I’ll root for them not expecting nothing. I’ll applaud Paul Goldschmidt for what he has achieved over his career and for who he is as a person! Like Trey Turner, he would be humbled and so appreciative of the support!

Saturdays game , most the time with 1out runners at 2nd and 3rd 1st base open you should definitely walk the homerun hitting Hoskins with the rookie Chourio on deck with the game on the line!! Wth? Swinnggg there it goes!! Hoskins has 9 dingers now, oh sure it was a good pitch he hit, thats why you walk him!!!! But hit batters, little mistakes we cannot afford even with managing a game. 😅 I'm watching late here for Sundays Happy Mothers day game its already 1 zip 1st inning 1out basesloaded Ortiz up .368 risp! I can't watch! Sorry JD I have you on paws until this game is over👍⚾️🏆 hey update we won!! I like Ollie laying it on the umpire!! That was FIRE and the team responded!! Oli has always seemed like a phony and fake guy to me. He has that favorite teacher's pet vibe that MOZO gave him. I never thought he earned the right to be the Manager. Looking back the same could be said with Matheny and Schildt. And i think thats one of many issues the Cardinals have had. But, the main issue is MOZO. Its past his time to go. Under his regime the Cardinal way has slowly eroded away each season unfortunately.

Shildt is big league stew. And mentioning him in the same breath as Matheny or Marmol will come back on ya. Mark my words today , 13 May 24 , Shildt will manage a world series win within 5 yrs if 1 team will give him a reasonable chance. Had Shildt stayed and Mozeliak was fired , Cardinals would be WS competitors by now.

Shildt built the best farm in baseball he overseen the farm. He deserved a lot better than Philosophical differences. And earned his Skipper job. I'm watching the Padres closely , Shildt will bring the Pads deep playoff runs.
