Me two weeks ago: why in the hell am I being recommended this channel? Me today: oh this poor girl has a white line lesion! He's gonna have to grind away the first layer and cut into the hoof around that lesion to expose it. I know my man Nate is gonna be careful not to hit the corium. Then he's gonna spray some clorhexadine, clean that lesion out, slap some salicylic acid to kill the digital dermatitis, wrap the hoof up, block out that other hoof and that girl is good to go! Wait where did the last 10 minutes go?
As a human who has suffered through several long bouts of ingrowing toenails (Sexy right?) I find it so soothing to watch this guy take such good care of these cows' feet and relieve them of their pain and discomfort 👍
@@davidkyzer7045 Thanks for the tip, if they come back I'll be sure to try it 👍 I am fortunate to live in the UK so I got them fixed on our marvelous NHS 🙂
As a relatively new subscriber, I must say that your knife work and general understanding of cows feet and all of the potential ailments their feet go through is truly amazing. I’ve checked out a few other trimmers on RU-vid and not only is your channel the best out of the lot but you also seem to take the most care and responsibility when treating a cow and their condition. I love the content!👍🏻😎
Excellent cutting skills. I've been watching hoof trimming in RU-vid for 2 year and you're the best so far especially on delicately removing dead tissues from the sole. Very seldom i saw a shade of blood. Better than the famous Hoof GP.
@@cali.girllivinnnevada8 I work at a school for people to become vets. They teach all kinds of vet medicine, including large animal/farm animal. We even have our own dairy cows that provide the milk for the university to sell.
I checked out a couple other channels like this one and I have to say You have a magic touch. I really like how careful you are not to hurt the cows. Great job😁
Nate you are the man!!!! I know these cows are a big investment from the owners. But you really respect the feelings of these creatures! Lots of respect to your craft!🐂🐂🐂🐂
Your gentle knife work and your soothing tone of voice make these videos so relaxing and satisfying to watch. Appreciate those nice calm shots of the farm at the beginning, it sets the mood ☺️
Your careful knifework beats the overzealous grinding and heavy-handed chopping seen elsewhere anyday. The skill you demonstrate with each video is amazing to watch. You never hurt them and really care for their wellbeing.
Just met your channel and am already in love with it! You do work wonders on those poor cows feet. You just got yourself not only a subscriber but also a huge fan!
This is very fascinating and surprisingly soothing. Never thought watching a cow get a pedicure and pain relief would be so engrossing. These videos remind me of a show I used to watch religiously called Dirty Jobs. One of the best shows on TV.
Hello Nate. I have just found you & I am so pleased I have! I LOVE cows and really want to thank you so much for helping & caring for them! You do such an amazing job! The relief they will get after you help them 😍😍 thank you for sharing it all with us!! 💜💜
I have great admiration for the work you do. Out of all of the hoof trimming videos on RU-vid you have, by far, the most skilled hands. Thank you for the work you do and education you provide.
YES NATE thank you for thinking and caring for these beauties rather than harming their feet for the sake of getting views or whats considered more “visually stimulating”. You are truly the man of the year 👏🏽👏🏽💜
Any other hoof trimmer wooda had blood all over the place! Its rare that u have any blood at all. Idt most trimmers would bother taking the time to ensure the cow isnt in pain either. Theyd just hack her up! Ur a rare one Nate!
I love your videos Nate!! You're so kind and careful in all that you do for the cows :) It's what keeps me coming back for more and more and more!!! Sending you some love from South Carolina!!
I like the no frills focus on helping the cows. No fancy drone stuff flying around. No background music. It’s always easy to see what you’re doing, and your narration is very informative. The videos are a little mesmerizing. I’m an IT guy in the big city, but I’m watching the videos thinking “there’s another white line issue right there”.
It is fascinating to watch your knifework, Nate. As much as I (you/we all) would love to have these cows *not* go through these issues, it is unfortunately inevitable, so having someone as skilled, patient and caring as you fix them up, is satisfying to watch. I am hooked on your videos lol
Ouch! That lesion once fully exposed looked really painful. I'm sure the cow is feeling much better now. It's so satisfying to know that your work helps these cows out. ☺
Although I have nothing to do with cows (other than being surrounded by them, as I live in the country) I’ve become addicted to your excellent and fascinating videos! Today I had to stop on my bike ride because a farmer was leading his cows along the lane for milking. As they filed into the milking shed the farmer and I spoke, and I told him that I watch your videos and how you treat these problems. He said that here (Yorkshire, UK) there are some men who travel round doing this job, and it sounds (not surprisingly) as though the treatment is similar, although this farmer told me that the blocks they use tend to be wooden. I hope they are as careful as you are not to cause the cows any pain ❤️ So, as well as helping cows you’re bringing people together through your videos, around the world :-)
I could spend a good hour or so every day watching you clean out these cow hooves!!! Something about it is so mesmerizing. I feel like a child watching a surgeon carefully operate on a patient. It's so interesting.
I am amazed at how, as you keep cutting away initially around a lesion, how big it really is under all that horn. I cannot image walking on a foot like that. Great caring work Nate. 👏👏👏👏
😲Wow, I’m still tuning in👍🏽 It’s addictive because you explain the process so well that a person like me with no experience is able to comprehend your explanation❣️
I am amazed that you can cut so deeply. You seem to honestly care about these girl's health and well being. To have this cow leave pain free is so good.
Nate you are a legend with your tools! I give credit to other hoof guys but none can even scratch the surface when it comes to how good you are with your tools
I don’t live on a farm. I don’t own a cow. I don’t know why I watch every one of these but I can’t stop. P.S. How come my kitchen knives get dull after slicing tomato?
You sir are a breath of fresh air, really enjoy watching your work and how you approach each job with as much care as you would if it were a human, good to see 👍😊😊
It was so satisfying to see her walk off at the end!! I love this channel! P.s Is it silly I got a bit teary eyed? The compassion during the video and then the end result, just got me in the heart bone something fierce.
Great knife work and again thanks for the close ups! I watch a few other hoof trimmers and you are the only one providing close ups!!! Blessings send from Canada, Nate🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
As always another precise and Great job. You sir do an amazing job. I really look forward to watching your videos. From a retired steel worker from Michigan now living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. May God bless you and your entire family in all of your future endeavors. Until next time have a great day.
Don't know why your videos popped up on my feed. I do not watch anything related to your videos at all, but you got yourself a new subscriber. You're so gentle with them ❤️
Ive been watching you for a while and i have gained such a love and respect for you and your work. I literally came here because i find this stuff weirdly satisfying and i like to watch it while i go to sleep (Ik its weird don’t judge) but i have slowly started to learn all the techniques and i am able to recognize whats wrong with the hoof before you even say. I didn’t expect to learn so much from this but i have. Not only are you an amazing teacher, but you have really made me feel a deeper connection to these animals and made me realize wow these creatures really feel pain just like me and we should treat them with care and respect. You really sympathize with them and it shows in your work. You never rush either you always make sure its as painless as possible. Never stop man u got a fan for life right here.
I always love that you show us some footage from around the farm, this case a kitten (of which I had one in my house today while I live in a neighborhood now with only houses, no farmland living for me sadly but the coincidence was just funny) and what I especially love to see is cow's playing with the scratch rolls! Love that for some odd reason 😁 And glue on hairy hands.. erm.. okay I'm sorry, but have to laugh! Sorry!! 😂😜😁 Hope this girl soon gets rid of that lesion, so she can heal on the lesion probably underneath the block.
Nate, before your profession and before when these animals were not domesticated, these hooves would naturally shed? What would happen if they ended up getting these injuries back in the day? I'm so intrigued.
Yes they would naturally shed. So basically the animal would need to wait until the loose layer fell away naturally and hopefully the lesions wouldn’t get worse in the meantime. So in other words the healing would take months instead of days so hopefully they could evade predators in the meantime.
Great videos. I am a dairy farmer. I have learnt alot from your videos. I get a hoof trimmer in 4 times a year but sometimes there are sore cows in-between that I have to trim and your videos have helped me alot!
Hey brother, just wanted to drop you a line or two. Love your videos! I found hoof trimming via a couple other channels but your knowledge and content have me hooked. Your to-the-point approach is my kind of instructional video. Cheers and and all the best.
I subscribed like a week ago, and Nate was just shy of 190k. Some crazy growth, but I'm glad he's getting the exposure. Expertise like his should be shown off.
Aleays suprised by how.much.more area the lesions cover compared to how they look at first. Also appreciate how careful you are not to hurt the ladies.
I'm officially obsessed with this channel. It's a mix of satisfying process, tender care for critters, and a nice man's voice that's just a perfect blend.
If it were still active there would have been a hole forming. It was just some mild hemorrhaging. What we see now in the horn actually was happening a month or more ago. It’s likely resolved based on how she walked when leaving.
Yeah I don’t understand that. The brown spot could have anything going on underneath. I don’t understand the pick and choose of when to take care of something. I wouldn’t be surprised if in a month or so this cow is on there with a completely irritated painful hoof with the digital dermatitis and all that, simply because it was taken care of before adding a block to it. That being said, why not just take care of it before adding a block?
I swear I enjoy watching all these videos. I love the careful precision you have to do in taking care of those girls. I wouldn't mind giving that a try one day.
@@eddie-roo agriculture is definted as planting and harvesting crops and taking care of and managing livestock. Maybe you're thinking of horticulture. Human civilization starts with horticulture (planting crops) or pastoralism (corralling animals) and then progesseses into agriculture. One day if humans survive long enough, we will progress beyond agriculture too.
