This video contains Embarkation Day footage from my Carnival Radiance 3-Day cruise to Ensenada. I provide some details about passenger drop-off, parking, checking in at the terminal, boarding, muster drill, and a cabin tour of a rare interior cabin with a view.

Your embarkation day videos are really some of the best I’ve seen, I appreciate you posting them and sharing the information. I guess if I had one request it would be for you to incorporate a pre-cruise hotel stay and review within your embarkation day vlogs. I know you are fairly close to the Long Beach cruise terminal so a hotel stay might not be necessary, but there are thousands of people who will stay in a hotel the day before their cruise, and the information provided in one of these videos would be really helpful. My wife and I always stay at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach pre-cruise, but I know there are a lot of other choices in the area with different levels of amenities. Thanks again!

Thank you for the kind words and feedback. I typically stay at my parent's house in San Diego before most of the cruises (since I live in AZ), but I do have Embarkation Day videos that include some of my hotel stays (most recently it was the Hampton Inn and Suites - Seal Beach, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y0QOWnZtAH0.html). I also have a couple of videos from Hotel Maya (which is where I will be staying next month when I go on the Panorama with my wife and kids).

@@TheBeachLife I love Cozumel, I remember when it only had a few small hotels and one ship a week . Key West is like a clean tropical New Orleans. Laid back , live and let live community, older community not a Miami. Multi cultural, artsy and welcoming to all. I’ve been going to Key West since the early 80s. Very EXSPENSIVE to stay there.

I hate how cruise lines have not gone back to the old muster drill. I don't like how crew members have to do multiple drills per day. It should be all once.

Sorry, but I am glad that they don't have the old muster drill anymore. It was the most miserable experience of the cruise. Standing out there on a hot and humid day, waiting on everyone to show up, and then listening to the long presentation. It's even worse when you have young children who have no desire to stand around that long.

Thanks for this! I’ve been looking for a good vid on this port process, and yours is by far the most helpful, thoughtful, and comprehensive that I’ve seen. Loads of practical information for a variety of people. Thank you! Question: do you know if family of platinum members can go through checkin with them. For example, I’m red but my folks are platinum. I’ve heard people mention something about it, but I don’t know if that’s a thing or is common (or maybe considered bad form even?). Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the kind feedback. I pride myself on trying to make videos that are easy to watch and understand (and most importantly little to no "fluff"). Before I started making videos, it would bug the heck out of me watching many of these "look at me" videos where I get nothing out of it. :) ----- With that said, if you are in the same cabin, they will let you check-in and board together. If you are not in the same cabin, it depends on how strict the port person wants to be. On my recent cruise, my 3 daughters were not in our cabin, but the port employee allowed them to join me in the check-in line, but the employee in the boarding area was being a pain about it, but started getting a bunch of people coming at him and just let us through lol

Great channel and subscribed! We are going on this ship on July 3rd. This will be my first cruise. My question is how is the stability of the ship? I'm a little worried of becoming sea sick.

Hello and thanks for subscribing! The stability of the ship is fine, but that doesn't mean that some people don't get sea sick (as they are not used to the regular movement of the ship). I would recommend bringing motion sickness medicine with you if you feel that you may get sea sick.

Great video my man I will actually be going on the same cruise here for the 4th. I know Carnival does not shoot fireworks off the boat. Can you see the fireworks being shot off from land while cruising?

Thank you! That is a good question. I have never sailed on 4th of July, so not sure honestly. I know they typically stay relatively close to the shore (and I believe the 4th is a Sea Day for your cruise).

Quick question though after when we leave our luggage do they take it to our room or do I take it? And when I leave do I leave it in the hall way or I take it? One more thing how much was parking ?

Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video. When you give your luggage to the porters outside, they will get delivered outside of your cabin (no later than 5 PM). On the last evening, you have the option to leave your luggage out (they will give you instructions on what to do) or carry your luggage off yourself the next morning. The parking is $23 a day and you pay when you leave.

Yes, those are classified as interior cabins. This is a higher category (4J) interior, so it is more expensive than the cheaper interiors (but it was cheaper than an Ocean View cabin though)

I mistakenly said VIP a couple of times, but they refer to it as "priority guests". The priority guests are those that are at Diamond and Platinum level (which is accrued by number of sailing days), guests who are in Suites, guests who book a wedding through Carnival, and then Faster to the Fun (which is something you would purchase per cruise).

What is the earliest time slot for embarkation? Someone suggested that because I am traveling with an individual with a cognitive disability I should wait until 1 or 1:30. What is your opinion

I believe it is 1000 - 1030 AM. They don't start the boarding process until around 11ish. Why did they recommend 1 or 130? Is it so you don't have to wait around inside the terminal?

I have a question - you mentioned your passport was beeping when they checked you because your photo wasn’t looked like you? I just wondering are they checked your passport and scan the passport as well? Because I am taking my mom’s to Carnival Radiance on 8/4 but her passport is old and has some water mark on it. So I am thinking are they really scan the passport to check? I wanted to applied for a new one for her but they time is a little tight. Please let me know when you have a moment. You're welcome and glad you found some useful tips in the video. In my case, the photo in my passport was when I was much heavier and so the facial scan didn't match up. They would typically just take a photo of you during the initial check-in (if they don't match), but the person didn't in my case. Are the water marks covering any important information or just the photo or?

Only the follow pages looks not very flat if you looks from the sides. Just wondering is US passport has some chips or something? @@silviachang6894 - As long as her information and photo are visible, she will be fine. They are just visually inspecting the passport information during the initial check-in (no scan). The scanning I was referring to was a facial scan just before you get on the ship, to make sure you match your photo.

Do we really have to drop off our luggages ? can we just carry them with us til we enter the ship? If not, when do we get the luggages prior going to room?

You do not have to drop them off with the porters. You can bring them on to the ship, but will have to lug them around with you until the cabins are ready at 130 PM. The luggage will arrive between some time after that (sometimes as late as 430 or 500 PM). If having your luggage is important, I would say to plan on arriving to the ship around 130 PM so you can go straight to your cabin and drop the luggage off.

@@TheBeachLifethanks. My cruise is only 4 nights next month with my 2 fam. I’ve only seen 5pm depart on my itenerary so i’m confused about arriving at 1:30pm. Would i received a notice/message what time we should go there to check in etc? It’s my first time and wasn’t expecting it’s a very long process i’m kinda intimidated 😅

You can only drop your luggage off (and leave the cabin) if you are a Priority guest (Diamond, Platinum, Suite, and Faster to the Fun)

It’s not required for the cruise, but if you need to fly back from Mexico for an emergency, a passport is required

Parking is $23 a day and you pay when you leave the parking structure. They take Credit/Debit Cards, Apple Pay, and Cash.

🤣 - I would say a majority of them are friendly. I have run into a couple of unfriendly workers, but that's going to happen anywhere unfortunately

They don’t really enforce any luggage requirements. If you plan on bringing extra luggage, and some are overweight, just make sure to tip the luggage porters accordingly

I just got off this cruise. MASSIVE fight broke out at BINGO!! Some people were upset at the numbers being called too fast. Other people were tired of hearing the complaining and the fight was on. No security to break it up. At one point it did calm down only to restart. However, some three hours later I ran into some of the people in the fight. To my surprise, no one was confined to their cabin nor any mention of the $500 fine per person. Also there was flooding on decks 3, 4 and 5. Not a little water either. I don’t see where Carnival has made any attempt to change anything with their bad reputation.

Oh wow, that is terrible to hear about the fight part and no consequences for those peoples actions. The flooding is not something they have a ton of control over, but I understand that the combination of things can leave a bad taste.

That is such a shame is carnival turning into a trash ship or what? They really need to clean up their act, or they are slowly losing customers that do never wanna go back on that cruise line again.
