I love your Carolyn pajamas. They look like they are the perfect fit. I loved what you had to say about making your size. After I entered peri-menopause and COVID-19, I have gained a little weight and inches. It's frustrating. I find some days I have to give myself a pep talk. I liked the way you worded it. Have a beautiful day.
They are absolutely stunning! The black piping really elevates these PJs. Thank you for a very detailed and informative video. I’m tempted to give these a go now! 🇨🇦😀
Haya. WOW, your Carolyn's are stunning, eeeeeeeeeek & I got to see them, yay 😀The fabric you chose is wonderful, you just need a pair of Mickey ears 😂 Thanku 'sew' much for sharing. xx
Adele your PJs are amazing!!! My granddaughter (23 years old) is a great Disney fan. I know what her Christmas gift is going to be now. Emma's are amazing too. Pyjama party - I'll be there.
Thanks for reminding about the importance of ease and finished garment measurements. So often we focus on our own body measurements (and as you say, for the less than positive reasons). Loving your honest and clear comments on the why of sewing and being mindful of how you are sewing and that it is a learning journey too.
Adele, I absolutely LOVE everything about your Carolyn pyjamas!! They look fantastic on you. Just perfect. It was really useful to hear you talk about how you chose which size to make. Brilliant blog and gorgeous make! Thank you x
Good Afternoon Adele, wow what a comprehensive review. Really like how you measured to get the right size. Your PJ's look comfy, roomy without being too oversized. Also, you are so right about making/buying to fit not going by the size/label. x Debbie x
Wow! What a beautiful make. Fabric is gorgeous and piping really sets it off. Love it. Great review as I've been eyeing this pattern us for awhile now! 🥰
Oh Adele ❤ ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR Pjs and That fabric is amazeballs! Thank you so much for sharing this sewing project and collaboration with me and for being so patient 💕 we need a PJ party now!
Well done Adele, you have smashed it. Gorgeous pj’s! As a newcomer to sewing I have loved watching your journey and the way your skills are improving all the time 😀
Adele these are amazing!!! I have these on my to-sew list again. I made them years ago when I was smaller so just need to crack on and recut my proper size. Excellent inspiration :) Love the fabric too hehe!
Hi Adele, what an absolutely fabulous make. They look amazing. All your hard work certainly shows. I have had this pattern for sometime but haven't got around to making it yet. I think you may have inspired me to push it up my list!! Thank you for your review of the pattern.
I have made 2 Carolyn pjs and I love them. You are right, the collar instructions aren’t great. I will make another and master it properly. Where did you get your piping? Have you seen the price of similar pjs in the shops, but when you consider the work involved in making them it’s not surprising! Yours are just gorgeous Adele! I think they would make a lovely Christmas present for a special person in your life( so long as they appreciate all the hard work!)
Thanks Mary - my piping was from Minerva www.minerva.com/mp/1261129/stephanoise-flanged-piping-cord-apricot&variant=1261172 There are loads of colours and different sizes x
Great pjs, I LOVE that fabric. I have already made the same view. I usually add an inch rise on bottoms but I did 2 on these and they still fit below my belly button. I need another inch on top so 3 in total which I find odd. If I'd of just gone with the pattern as is they'd of been hipsters. The notched collar instructions were not clear I agree and I also had to watch a video on utube. Think they'd be nice in brushed cotton too I think. I will make more as I do think they look smart.
I'm making these at the minute and your review has been really helpful, so thanks. Can I ask how you finished the fake fly seams? I'm also french seaming throughout, but can't quite work out how to finish that seam neatly.
I must admit I’m a pdf fan. I would far rather stick sheets of A4 paper together than trace out a pattern. Tracing out I do (when forced) but it’s such a pain.
