Interesting comments about using a splint at night. I recently had and emg/ncs and there isn’t nerve involvement. No surgery, no PT. The neuromuscular neurologist said he finds people can often improve by just wearing the splint! This was a really comprehensive video on this topic. Thanks Bob and Brad! You’re the best!
Thanks for sharing this info. I nearly had surgery a couple of years ago. Osteopath diagnosed a tight pec muscle. Fixed in one session with follow up exercises similar to ones you're showing here including neck. Issue hasn't returned and my doctor was amazed :)
Just watched several other videos on CT which never stressed the fact you are treating the nerve and not the muscle. I think everyone's tendency would be to use a lot of pressure (kind of like a gym workout where stress = results), and these other videos did NOT impress the fact these movements are to be gentle. Thank you for keeping me from getting in trouble!
Thank you for the video. I have been on treatment for carpal tunnel for three months now and the pain hasn't gone away. I will incorporate these exercises.
Thank you! Thank you! This crap has made my life hell and I thought the only way to get comfort was surgery, which is not an option for me to be off of work for the recovery. I already have relief from doing these exercises. You guys are amazing!!!!!!
RU-vid suggested I watch this probably because I've been searching for info regarding physical therapy for my carpal tunnel. Really excellent and very helpful! Thank you!!
I have carpel tunnel in both wrists! Nobody ever told me that it comes from my neck that I actually have big problems with! Thank you for sharing this information, I will definitely try the exercises! I am trying to avoid a operation, as I know the operation does not last long from friends and a family member who was operated on! I love your videos!! Kind regards from South Africa 🥰🌻
Subscription done ✔. I am suffering for CTS since 5 months and under medication since 2 months. After doing your stretching exercises I am feeling much much better and I can work without any pain. Thanks to both of you
Thank you soo so so much! The chest and neck excersise helped immediately! I'm so glad I came to you guys for help. I kind of overdid it, and now have numbness on my index and occasionally will have pain & numbness in my thumb. I will do these daily. I really don't want to do surgery if I can help it. Again, thank you so much! 💕
Yes got this symptom on my left hand due to sleeping posture always on right side .. very hard to bend so pain and stiff. Your therapy on this hope helps me in overcome my pain on left hand
My arm was pulled to help me up off a stair. It was pulled hard I'm 73. It was 4 months of pain then Dr said it was CTS. X-ray showed a fracture on outer palm. I have Bursitis in shoulder. Had injections in both one time.
So glad I came across your videos, Bob & Brad! Are you familiar with the Montgomery Method for ending carpal tunnel pain without surgery? If so, any thoughts, opinions or recommendations? Thanks!
Thanks so much. I have CTS in both wrists on and off since I was about 20 yrs old and was booked to see the specialist but will cancel and give this a go first. I can see my posture and neck may be a big part of the issue.
Position is very important. Now as a dental technician I have been struggling with pain for years but most positions tend to be imposible for my needs, dental techs and jewelers have that in common. With that specifically in mind what working postures do you recommend or perhaps you could create a video for those type of professions. Thanks!
Thank you so much for these exercises. I have CTS is both hands and have been deemed a candidate for surgery. I would like to hold off on the surgery for a few months because I'm starting a part-time job. I will try these exercises to get me through this time.
I had very bad feeling numb to my fingers I used cream of Diclofenac prescription by Dr that helped a lot. I still want to follow these tips here I have seen it Thanks 🙏
Now add to the pillow setup the wrist brace. For crying out loud, can I just get a bed on the space shuttle where there's no gravity and no weight anywhere to get a pain-free night of sleep? The older I get, the more crap I need to sleep.
love you guys. You keep me healthy and make me laugh. But I have a question for you. can this be used as preventive stretches as well? This works for me but some of my fellow school bus drivers don't have issues yet.
I couldn't be bothered watching this video but I had steroid injections in both wrists, cured it within 2 days and now I can sleep without numbness and waking constantly. Still slight numbness in my finger tips but negligible and I did have another round of injections which hardly made a difference second time around. I don't think exercises help from my experience if this is where the video guides you.. Good luck all, I know it sucks not being able to feel your fingers hands and arms 😤
I do manual labour and have started to be woken up by intense pins and needles in my arms and numbness in my hands and fingers, I have to hang my arms down out of the bed and It stops, during the day i have numb finger tips and my hands feel fat and swollen and I can't make a fist properly, I really need to fix this as it is affecting my work. Will these exercises help me and does it sound like carpul tunnel syndrome? Andy
I get the numbness on the pinky and ring finer mostly holding phone too long or even riding motorcycle holding throttle in on position to long gets me to loose sensation im only 19
I have pain only in my thumbs. NOT the other fingers. No pain in Carpal tunnel area. I was told it's C-5-C7 cervical neck compression. After 6 mos of neck exercises no improvement. What can I do?
interesting points ,if anyone else is searching for all natural treatment for carpal tunnel try Pycanta Tunnel Syndrome Protocol (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.
Once again absolute sound advice that makes sense and really helps. I am a housekeeper/cleaner in New ealand and you guys have helped me in more ways than you'll ever know. Anyone has a problem with their body I always recommend Bob and Brad. Hell even some of your quotes at the start have snapped things into perspective for me too. Please keep doin' what you're doin', top show, thank you, 10/10. Bob and Brad for President!.
My name is Steven…. And I am a delivery driver . From eight to twelve hours a day, getting in and out of a truck multiple stops. The posture your talking about describing me to a T …. What stretches and or excercises can you use to help me as a driver … will you do a video on that…. Thank you.
Thank you. You guys ROCK!!! I have had chronic pain since a horse riding accident almost 20 years ago and developed tennis elbow and carpal tunnel this year. Doing your gentle stretches have helped me so much. Bless you both!
I had CT surgery. Totally wrong surgery. Made a clicking thumb the least of my worries. My left hand, wrist, and up to elbow feel like I'm having a heart attack 24/7. Lost all muscle strength, loss of feeling (heat, cold, pressure, injuries...), and my hand is shrinking to skin on bone. Surgeon refused to see me after PT said I have permanent nerve damage from the surgery. Moral: See your attorney BEFORE any surgery.
Don’t ever get surgery if you don’t have to. I saw an ortho today due to pain in my thumb, index finger, and middle finger and he immediately said its CTS. I think the nerve pain is radiating from my neck but the dr didn’t hear me out and I am knowledgeable (a LPTA here) and he said oh we can do surgery and it will be an easy fix. He came to this conclusion after a 2 min assessment. I refuse surgery when I’m not completely sure if the problem is originating in my wrist. People please do your research. So many drs love to cut on ppl immediately. As a therapist, I’m surprised he didn’t recommend PT first. Always get a second opinion. Also noted... I’ve only been symptomatic with intermittent pain and swelling for 2 WEEKS!
Thanks a lot Bob & Brad! You just helped another guy here in Philippines! My right hand is curling to form a claw. I thought I was like having a stroke, but when I did the simple exercise you demonstrated, man it eased the pain and numbness! Thanks a lot, more power to your channel!
Hello po taga ph din ako, ask ko lang po kung may carpal tunnel pa rin po ba kayo? Or kahit namamanhid yung apat nyong daliri? Kasi po merom po akong ganyang case ngayon e, di ko po alam kung kaya bang gamotin ng hindi inooperahan. TYIA!!❤
Hi guys! Thank you so much for this video, is it possible to add to your Amazon list which CT brace you are recommending? There are so many to choose from. Thanks for all you do!
thank you you much my friends. this is actually USEFUL STUFF here. no bs, no trying to sell someone desperate soul something. MUCH APPRECIATION! Giving hope to folks in need is a most commendable thing!
My mother is really suffering with carpal tunnel, so I will be sharing this video with her. However, what frustrates me about these self-help videos is the instructors don't usually explain how often and how long to do the exercises each day.
Still using a rollator and cane to walk, 4 level fused in cervical, was good but fell in jov 2019 and it turned my fused neck badly. . . Now the numb tingling, sometimes burning pain in my right hand. Will this help?
My surgery is 2 months away :-( In the meantime, I wake up frequently during the night with a burning sensation. What I do is sit on the side of the bed and hold both hands between my knees for about 2 minutes.
A few weeks ago I started feeling this pain in my wrist which sounded like carpal tunnel syndrome. It started after several weeks and many continuous hours hunched over my sewing machine working on multiple gowns and suits for my daughter’s wedding. After watching this video about the median nerve starting at the neck, this now makes sense that my problem is most likely at the neck. When I sew I have to use both hands/arms forward to feed the fabric into the machine and my head down and forward. It’s very different when I work on my computer where I can have the screen up at my eye height so my head/neck is straight. No other video suggested the problem could be at the neck, thanks for a great educational video - just love your work. I’m going to undertake your 3 step program, wish me luck.
Thanks a lot guys! These exercises really helped me out. I'm a guitar player studying music performance in university, so my CT really gets in the way on a bad day
Thanks a lot, that’s an amazing video guide. I am gonna try those exercises explained. Even I tried some of them while watching and felt relieved. Thanks once again 🥰
Yes! As soon as you said it comes from way up near the neck, I knew you were onto it. My massage therapist helps, but I can only afford to do that occasionally. Now I can find relief with these stretches--thanks!
Hi, I got diagnosed with CT grade 4, and advised mandatory surgery. I have terrible pain while sleeping in both hands, and numbness is there in all fingers and thumb, could it be something else, can anyone share similar kind of experience?
