i dont usually listen to these songs out of season, THEN iv'e discovered karen singing them and she totally overwhelmed me with her beautiful angelic voice and i am now hooked on them and will be watching and listening all year long, god bless you darling.xxx.
Karen stirs up the same emotions as Bing as she sings "White Christmas". Great job to all involved and thanks for sharing NN2010, RC and of course KC and everyone in the cast and A&M records.
Not only was KC a beautiful woman and talented drummer and an impeccable singer; she was also a very graceful dancer as well. even though the steps were relatively simple she performed them with the grace of any balerina.
Thank you Carpenters. You brought me much joy for this Holiday Season. I've been a fan of yours for manymany years. Your singing touches my heart and soul. Me ke aloha pumehana. (Much love and aloha.)Robert S. J. Hu November 22, 2018 As we say in Hawaii, "Mele Kalikimaka," (Merry Christmas.
SHE is one of the few singers in the world who was able to sing low notes efficiently. IN fact she reigned supreme on singing low notes . MOST of the famous singers even have / had problems producing same degree of excellence while singing low notes . IT specially happens when a high note of a song plunges to a low note and requires to remain there between three and seven seconds -- here most of the singers find themselves in an unknown territory but LATE KAREN CARPENTER was different and exclusive. AND of course her mellifluous voice which still enthralls the audience UP AND DOWN THE WORLD. INDEED, A RARE VOICE.
I always liked the carpenters.karen had a.voice like an angel.and thewords were so clear .unlike today they mumble the words .RIP Karen we all miss.you.xx
Always loved Karen Carpenters voice, even when I was into prog-rock, and other musical genres which were quite unrelated. Beautiful and talented, Karen left us way too soon...
Hi! My name is Marcos. Sorry about this Messenge, but i would like to keep in touch with someone native english person to learn a litle more. Thank you fellow and have a good night.
I'll thank Herb Alpert til the day I die for recognizing Karen and Richard's talents and signing them to A&M Records. For the record, I have loved Karen since "Close To You" in 1970. I hope I hear her voice when I cross over to the other side, because I know The Lord would keep her right where he could hear her singing and I hope to be there.
Yeah me too! Thank You Herb forever!Thank You Burt for the song.Huge thanks to Paul Williams and John Bettis for all of the beautifully true and at times heart wrenching lyrics on so many songs! Fan since day 1 and hope to hear Karen up there.
Very well said Rita. I believe GOD had need of Karen in Heaven to LEAD the other Angels! She was only on Loan to we mere mortals down here! Hope to meet her in Heaven one day!
it makes me cry... no matter what people say about them and how Richard treated her - despite all the bad things that happened, I believe they truly loved each other! and stayed close until the end... It's just that things cannot always be perfect... for anyone...
Well don't you think this recognizable voice of Karen Carpenter has a unique depth intonations mix with sensuous vocal sounds. She's always one of my favorite female singers.
What year was aired this show? OOOh I already read the credits: December 09 1977... Thanks for upload and share this forgotten reels full of memories, that bring back our own forgotten memories.
Coincidências,Elvis presley canta tôdas estas canções,com a mesma emoção e dedicação dos Carpenters.os dois amavam festasnesta época e,em 1977,época deste tape Elvis havia deixado a terra para ser ETERNO para a humanidade.
Absolutely agree with you Rita! It just feels like Christmas when you hear KC singing ANY Christmas songs! Other worldly beautiful is the best way I know to state it!
You did a great job matching up the audio with the video. That for all that work. What I cannot understand is why all of the Carpenters videos have not been issued on DVD. The quality of the videos out there currently are so poor. I especially would love to see the Make Your Own Kind of Music with Karen Carpenter and Dusty Springfield. They were great together.
@NedNickerson2010 Karen and Richard Carpenter formulated a lighter, cleaner sound during the 70s that led them to a remarkably long-lived success unparalleled to this day. The enduring quality of this legendary brother/sister team is expressed in the Carpenter's Christmas Medley.
I know many of these Carpenters music videos were made over forty years ago, I just wish someone could clean up the videos. Overall, their music is timeless.
does anybody know if this christmas special is on here??? I would love to see the whole special. I love Karen Carpenter, she is the best female singer ever! :)
