Dolly always gives her songs to other singers. She is the absolutely most wonderful of all artists. She is the classiest ladies of all times. I absolutely love her.
May be but she refused to give "I Will Always Love You" to Elvis. He wanted to record it but when Dolly found out that he would only record it if he owned the rights to it, she refused. Smart woman.
Look at sweet Dolly... she’s like “hey, I wrote this amazing song, let me give it to you and you make it yours and I’ll just chill out in the background and ride it out with you.” She’s amazing
Dolly Parton has way more talent and business sense than people give her credit for. And she is VERY gracious to younger performers in helping them out.
Dolly is so gifted. And I've never seen a person who loves to involve others in bringing out their beauty and their talent; as much as Dolly Parton does. She is truly an angel.
I love Carrie Underwood voice I sang her song something in the water and nine to 5 that same year I. Love the way Carrie sings this I hate Whitney Houston version of the song I love jolene and nine to five
Seriously. I just watched her sing with Kenny last night on TV, obviously recorded before he died. She sang this as a tribute to him. NO ONE sings it like her, that first word and note, I was just 😭
Have you ever seen Dolly's younger photos, she was really beauitiful.she still looks good.but fact is old age deteriorates everybody's physical features and appearances.i am talking about all of us.
The way Carrie looks at Dolly is just beautiful. This is a true representation of a fan's dreams coming true, if we're judging just on Carrie's expressions and body language.
Dolly wrote the song in 73, released it in 74 ten years before Whitney released her first album. Elvis wanted to cover it but Dolly wouldn't sell it to him. Whitney probably did the most popular of the many versions of the song and hers is my personal favorite. This was good for Dolly as it made her richer and it's only one of many songs she wrote. Darn few people are the humanitarians that Dolly is.
@@katiemurphy3202 i think it is clear to us that there is precious quality that has nothing to do with physical sound. Both of these women have it. In fact, most of us have it with at least some parts of some songs that carry meaning for us.
I just watch Dolly Parton 50th anniversary on NBC tonight. When she sang "I will always love you " she had me crying. She still sings it so beautiful. I will always love her. How many of you were watching this? Are you here with me?
My mother was the biggest Dolly fan. Growing up I never was a big country music fan. I remember going with her to see 9 to 5 in the movies and it being more fun then I’d expected. We lost her two years ago to cancer and now whenever I here a Dolly song or watch a video I think of my mother and it brings a smile to my heart. Thank you Dolly
Terri Geer "or that she wrote it" -exactly! Imitation is indeed the highest form of flattery they say but truly no-one does Dolly's songs better than Dolly! That being said, they did such a great job --would have been great if Ms.Houston would have been there to make it a trio. Thanks for posting this.
brunom72 when i first heard it i thought it was whitney's but now I think the original is even better not that Whitney's wasn't great but i prefer this one
Hmmmm...i wonder why🤔🤔🤔there's 2 very good reasons why. The first being the obvious one and the second being the age of the folks who don't know. This version actually almost put me to sleep. I like to feel the lyrics deep in my heart and here I didn't, it was weak
My goodness.. I love Dolly. She's so genuine and her voice is just so lovely. Dolly Parton is absolutely one of my favorite artists. And the fact that she is singing with Carrie Underwood. It's just too perfect.
The duet with dolly parton and Carrie underwood was far from perfect a duet is two people singing in harmony not just one trying to carry the harmony for the whole duet and that wasn't Carrie underwood
This woman is the most popular person on planet earth, God has blessed Dolly Parton to make the world a better place for all, and she is doing a super, super job. It shows what a woman can do when your raised in the country dirt poor and have values that far exceed what this country expect from you. This woman is a genius level lady from the very start and people knew she would change the world as we know it and make it a much better place to live in, She is one year older than i am and i have been following her my whole life for over a half century. If she ran for president of the united states she would win with no questions asked hands down. I love her like a sister i never had. I cannot imagine the world with out her in it. When people call her the Queen of country music she is the queen/royalty of the human race.
I discovered Dolly Parton 30 years ago when my 4year old daughter sang along to a tape in the back seat of our car. My daughter, Lucy, is now flying high as a location manager with Disney but she still has Dolly on every phone screen and I love her for to that x
I never get tired of seeing this. Dolly is just so incredible. Carrie's face is full of admiration and reverence, and she's glowing with happiness, as I'm sure this was one of the most incredible moments of her life :)
I love that Parton's voice always sounds like she is in her twenties, thirties......though she is like fifties or more now......but her voice and even talking normally still has some high tones, but very natural, no artificially fake, that makes it sound young forever......like her hairdo like "female lion"!
At fiddlesticks In my hometown last year I got a chance to sing I will always love you abs at really for life and at the Valentine’s Day thing at my church
Hey there Dolly and Carrie !! It was great to see U two on stage singing that song !! Totally Awesome Job LADIES!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👄👄👄👄👄💚💜👌👍😇😎🇺🇸🍒❣️💕💘💖💝🛍👄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Whitney sang an incredible cover of this song with her amazingly beautiful voice, but she made it famous for her high notes (goosebump moments). The story behind this song can only b sung by Dolly. U hear the angst in her voice, like it was intended. It was an "I Will Always Love U" goodbye song.
@@marchjoy7391 American Idol? Why because Carrie won? Well first of all, Carrie is my favorite singer, and who in the world doesn't LOVE Dolly...but Whitney had nothing to do with that show. Not on purpose of course. My point is, what' your problem with Whitney Houston?
Really? I'm glad you noticed that too.. I thought I was the only one complaining. You sounds like country songs fans Here is my email address.patrickwillim6655@gmail.com you can text me on it that way we can talk
It's really never going to be better than Dolly Parton, Queen of Country Music and Carrie Underwood, the Queen Regent and clear First Lady carrying country traditions onward. I haven't seen the legendary Willie sing with Carrie, but that would probably be too much and give me a heart attack.
Hello Amanda, I hope my comment wasn't taken as a form of invasion of your comments privacy. I'm here to make friends, how are you? Where are you from?
I cant believe this!!! I'm cryin.Dolly your just amazing. And I'm also so happy with the forthcomings Miley Cyrus has made. You are an inspiration to everyone. You make things happen.Im completely blown right now.Im a drummer.Just sayin.Love you Dolly
I'll say this. The stuff I've seen you perform recently is really amazing.Youve not only been one of the best artists to ever show there face at the Opry. You managed to keep on singing, with a voice that is timeless and beautiful.Youve made this world a better place.Thank you Dolly.
She is such classy woman and so gracious. Singer, musician, songwriter, faithfull, and a a great business woman and loves her family and community and country. Bless you Dolly
Robert Collett s'up with you? So someone shows emotion. What are YOU even doing on here. This is country music In case you didn't know. You little man bitch.
As exquisite and wonderful as Carrie Underwood's voice is, it is Vince Gill's virtuosity at the guitar that makes this duet the very best duet that was ever sung!
Dolly seems to be a wonderful woman....my parents spend 6 months every year @ Dollywood as work campers....my Dad is 83 & my Mom is 77 & they love it to death
Having Dolly Parton and Carrie underwood sing together has to be one of the most beautiful sight to see both not only sing good. But are both beautiful. As a person and voice. I would love to see both if them in person. That would make my day.
I cry every time I hear dolly sing this song I think of my daughter that was taken from us in 2004 I will always love her even though I can no see her or talk to her dolly and Carrie sang this song beautifully together.
That's right Carrie Underwood you very lucky young lady you are sitting on a stage with a true legend,a true artist who has written, and sung more songs than you have ever heard collectively in your life, plus she is one of the most beautiful person heart wise, and one of the most respected people in the world, bar none:honest, open, humble, and what you see is what you get with her,and she will admit to her flaws, mistakes while she jokes around with you,or listens to your troubles......
+FJ80Coop Cindy Walker with her numerous successes in writing songs, You Don't Know Me and actually hundreds of other songs...I believe this song I will always love you is more successful.
Two of my favorites. What I love is how healthy vocally Dolly is after working in this industry for 60 years. Amazing!!!! Both ladies are so talented as singers and songwriters too! I am happy they are here together. I look forward to any and all work they do in the future! I'll be there to buy every CD from both!
Dolly's career began singing duets--with Porter Wagoner. She was on his TV show every week, and it became evident that SHE was why people were watching. She wanted to leave the show to grow her career in other ways. He did not want that and would not discuss it with her--So she wrote this song to tell him. They were estranged for several years, but they patched up their relationship shortly before he died. Dolly was with Porter and his family the day he passed away.
Is it me or does it seem like Dolly is singing without any effort at all, kinda like singing for her is like breathing!!! That's what you call pure talent!!
It is ridiculous to be hating on Carrie when Dolly loves her. Carrie is a world class singer in her own right. Dolly may be a bigger talent because of the song writing aspect, but Carrie is wonderful.
Growing up in the Pigeon forge area and going to dollywood hundreds of times over the course of my life, I got to meet Dolly a few times for signatures and random run ins(when she happened to be there for performances or unspecified things), and she is the most down to earth person I ever met. It is like she is perpetually oblivious to her fame. She reminded me so much of my grandmother.
I can't believe that i'm seeing this for the first time since its almost 6 yrs old. very well done ladies. dolly was the queen of country in her time and carrie is (in my opinion) the current queen of country. how fitting that these two ladies sing this together. and this song, whether its sung by dolly, carrie or even the late great whitney Houston will always be a classic. thank you ladies for keeping this beautiful song in our hearts and lives still today
