I left a comment saying essentially the opposite. : ] This is excellent, and the songs are very different from one another, but I don't know how anyone who isn't simply biased in favor of 'Go Rest High On That Mountain' can say that this surpasses her rendition of 'How Great Thou Art'. Even objectively, if that's possible, this isn't nearly as powerful or evocative as her performance of 'How Great Thou Art'. I'm not the biggest fan of Gospel music, but Carrie singing 'How Great Thou Art' nearly brought a tear to my eye.

I would just sit with you while you weep, blubber, tell me whatever you want, or nothing at all whilst we just sit together...you knowing you don't need to entertain me, nor take care of my feelings at all. I remember (well meaning loved ones) saying things like "Im so sad. I just dont know what to say" . I was so confused & perplexed. In my mind I thought "I'd like to help you out with that but right now I'm kinda busy checking my breathing & pulse to see if I've died of a broken heart. Wondering how it's even possible that hasn't occurred. Not upset it hasn't happened. Just perplexed" And I'd bring you lotsa sips of water & plenty of food for you to eat only when you want....& Silently. And hold your hand if you wanted to hold someone's hand. Sending you my love, hugs. And my deepest DEEPEST condolences.

My brother passed away Monday (March 4th) 37 years old in a tragic wreck God called him home and I’ll be singing this song for him at his funeral. I pray God and him will give me the strength to get through it. ❤️. He had a hard life and struggled and battled his whole life and he’s finally healed and rejoicing in heaven.

@@kikisoldani3662 he wrote the 3rd verse of this song a couple years ago. I think this was the 1st time he got to hear the song performed in it’s entirety now that he completed it. It was like he was watching the words to a song that took him 21 years to fully complete, come to life.
