OH MY! I AM DEFINITELY MAKING THIS. I see no reason you cant deep fry cake batter. American funnel cake and hush puppies are deep fried. :) And YES that is a great smell.
I discovered Nadiya a few weeks ago and I love watching her cook. I tried this today but unfortunately am disappointed to say this wasn't loved by my family :(. The cream cheese dip was sensational though but I might be biased since I love anything with cream cheese! I halved the sugar and it was sweet enough for me.
I do this with bananas. A kind of banana bread pakora. But I never imagined carrot cake pakora's. It makes a lot of sense though. They are, essentially, donuts.
I've skipped this video so many times. I'm so glad i watched it. Really want carrot cake but can't be asked waiting for it to cook in oven then cool before icing. Then wait again for icing to set.
If one hadn’t seen some of her other videos? One could easily assume this is a children’s show, and that she put on a 🥕 carrot looking hat for the occasion 😆🤦🏼♂️ DOh! Gotta wonder if that was intentional ha. She definitely wears other colours in other clips, so clearly this is a regular item in her wardrobe. Don’t get me wrong I like it, it’s just a confusing opening clip when she’s making carrot cake hahah!
I really like this idea, i mean why not? Why can’t we deep fry the cake batter? My mind also rumbles all the time about these sort of fusion cooking ideas. I don’t know why but it reminded me of Spanish dessert Churros! The bad outcome of watching this is, i am craving and it’s late and I can’t fulfil my wish right now.😢😅
Okay and... it’s not really the same thing is it, this is much closer to a pakora but a sweet version. A handesh is fried batter alone. Stop acting so arrogant ‘all Nadiya has done’, no one’s saying she’s done anything new in any of her recipes but she’s introducing Bangladeshi ideas to the whole country.
No offence but this is so unhealthy....cream cheese is the hardest food to digest on planet earth. There is so many healthy dessert options that are missing no flavor at all. Ever heard of monk fruit sugar, move over stevia....tastes like sugar, it's natural, no aftertaste....zero calories. Why would anyone not want that?
Are you saying pakoras are not sweet in India? You surely do not know anything about Indian food. 'pua', 'taler bora' ... these are all sweet pakoras ... or you might say doughnuts.

It was a baking show cant you just accept that she was the best and most consistent in the story and had an interesting narrative as she grew in confidence not everything has to have an agenda to it
But then you watch Strictly Come Dancing when Anita Rani wasn't in the final despite being the better dancer. Also i'm pretty sure Nadiya was the favourite in the final stages. Positive discrimination is a myth.
