I also like the incorporation of the wood burning to add detail. Makes for a more 'Folk-Art" feeling (in my opinion) without having to carve multiple lines or use a V-Tool. More ammo for the arsenal of technique!

Love this carving! My son loves all the silly billies that I made for him thanks to you! Questions, I also use a Stanley 99 knife to carve. How do you change your blade with the grip tape on?
@whittling
@whittling Год назад
Hi Gary! Thanks for your question. I hone the blades regularly to keep them sharp. When it’s time to flip the blade around or put in a new blade l will either remove the wrap and then rewrap with the same piece or put a brand new piece of wrap on the handle.

How do you like the Lenox blades?
@whittling
@whittling Год назад
Thanks for your question! I prefer the Lenox Gold blades because they have multiple notches along the top and that enables me to extend the blade (cutting edge) further out than a standard utility knife blade. They’re also durable and hold an edge pretty well.

do you wet the wood that you carve?
